Let us wait and see shall we, unfortunately I don't think his stance on the Israeli-Palestinian issue will be that much different.

I was refering to what I witnessed and heard at the inauguration. I apologize for not making that clear.
If Obama can live up to that inaugural address, He will be one of the great American presidents.

| QUOTE (Wren @ Feb 4 2009, 01:32 PM) | | I heard on the Canadian news yesterday that there was a bit of a scare in regards to Obama encouraging Americans to "buy American" and how that would affect their neighbours here in Canada. He assured that he would work WITH Canada, not against us, which I really think is a good thing. We are neighbours, after all. :) |
Encouraging Americans to buy American is an oxymoran. There is not much left that is made in America that can be bought. I find now that it is even happening with food, candy, OTC medicines, etc. Of course most of these imports are by American companies carrying their brand name. Perhaps Obama means buy American companies even though their product is made in off shore countries. I do not see how that helps anyone, but the big wigs of American Companies. Supporting foreign made goods, labeled with American names, by buying them certainly does not help the average working Joe/Jill of America. However their seems to not be much of a choice or alternative any more to finding American made goods that will keep Americans working and the income tax money going into Washington to support all the spending, rather than borrowing from other countries that make our goods. Pray hard!

Perhaps Obama is listening to his constituents and is going to withdraw America from sticking its nose into every other countries business at the expense of the American people. We may not see the same old same old foreign policy from him.

I seriously doubt that. It will be different from Bush, but it will still be there for a long while yet...

Yes, Democrat or Republican. Not much difference these days.
