JΦKεR, Alice in Wonderland-based RP

Everyone knows about Alice in Wonderland. How Alice jumps down the rabbit hole, following The White Rabbit only to enter a new world that doesn't follow logic and reason. However, this role-play doesn't really follow that. Alice wakes up to find herself in another world: Wonderland (well, so does everyone else). She comes to find out that everything is not what it seems and that she is a part of game. A game that is made up of lies.

† Alice

Power: Able to grow or shrink, depending on what she eats, and open locked doors somehow.

† The Dormouse

Power: Able to sleep anywhere (whether s/he wants to or not) and take large amounts of damage (when he's awake or asleep).

† The Gray Rabbit {NPC}

The Gray Rabbit is not necessarily kind or mean. He has a tendency to run away when spotted and expects the one who saw him to chase him until he feels like stopping. If not, he'll just run into people to get their attention. He gives very broad hints/riddles as to where Nightmare's rabbit hole is.

† The March Hare

Power: Able to nullify Mad Hatter's tea-time powers and is unaffected by poisons and burnt foods.

† Nightmare {NPC}

Nightmare can disappear and reappear whenever he feels like. When he disappears, his glaring-red eyes are left behind. He doesn't like taking the initiative, but tends just watch from afar in order to savor the fear and pain from his victim.

† The Queen of Hearts

Power: Able to summon a minor servant by drawing a red heart and can make an axe appear out of thin air by shouting "Off with his head".

† The White Rabbit

Power: Able to run fast, even when not paying attention to where s/he is going, and can make it rain clocks (watches, grandfather clocks, etc).

Kraig woke up with a cold sweat. He put his hand over his eyes, taking a moment to think. He had a nightmare. However, it wasn't any normal nightmare. This is because when he woke up, he couldn't remember any of the details of it. That wasn't normal. The boy removed his hand away from his eyes, but seeing the scenery around him, he jumped up. This wasn't the rooftop of his school. It was a forest. A dark forest, at that.

"I see you woke up," spoke a voice. Kraig turned around in its direction. "Welcome, Mad Hatter." The source of the voice was from a boy his age (or perhaps older) with gray rabbit ears coming from the top of his head. He had a light-gray bandanna wrapped around his head and was wearing a dark-gray robe. "Cosplay?" Kraig said, staring at the weird person. "No, good sir. Mad Hatter, sir. I am the Gray Rabbit," said weird person, introducing himself. "Welcome to Wonderland," Gray Rabbit said with a smile.

"Are you kidding me, you rabbit-freak?!" Kraig yelled as he picked up Gray Rabbit by the collar. "How is this place supposed to be Wonderland? Just a moment ago, I was sleeping on the roof!" Kraig released the Gray Rabbit. "My, my, Mad Hatter, sir. Why were you playing as the Dormouse?" "Shut up, you stupid rabbit. How do I get out of here?" Gray Rabbit smiled eerily. "You just have to beat the Nightmare. After all, this is just a game for us all, here in Wonderland." Kraig cocked an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" "Just find the rabbit hole and it's a good-bye to you, Mad Hatter, sir." Having said that, Gray Rabbit disappeared. However, in his spot was a top hat had a 10/6 tag on it. Kraig stared at it when he picked it up. 'Does that idiot expect me to wear this? It's so uncool...'

The boy let out a breath. He put the hat back down and walked away. But taking a few steps forward, the hat hopped toward its owner. Kraig noticed its movement and made a run for it, but the hat kept up with his pace. "Damn it! This is so uncool!" the boy shouted as he ran in the forest.

Watching for a tree branch, Gray Rabbit still smiled. "Have fun in the Forest of No Direction," he said before disappearing.

Slowly, Miyuki's blue eyes opened and stared at a gold ceiling. Blinking a few times, he got up and looked at the red and black sheets of the bed he was lying in and looked around. " How did I get here?" He asked no one. There was a small child standing at the edge of his bed, watching Miyuki eagerly.

" Are you really up, sire?" The child asked. Miyuki blinked and looked at the child. " Sire?" The child asked and attempted to wave his hand in front of Miyuki's face. More little children came into the gold and black chambers and looked ready to serve Miyuki.

" What sort of dream is this?" Miyuki asked. The child at the side of his bed only laughed. " But my lord! This is no dream!" The child giggled. Miyuki almost glared at the child and immediately, the child stopped laughing. Noticing a large balcony, he got out of bed and noticed how heavy his boots were.

" I wasn't wearing this..." Miyuki said, lifting one foot and then stomped it down lightly. " But we found you in that attire! You were asleep in the forest and we brought you back here so you could sleep in your bed!" The child said. Miyuki shrugged, looking at his black, red, and gold attire. He slowly walked over to the stone railing and looked around. " Where am I? What have I gotten myself into?" Miyuki asked, leaning on the railing.

Kraig had been wandering around the forest for quite some time. And at every turn, the top hat was waiting for him. Annoyed, he picked up the hat, staring at it. "What, does this thing have eyes or something?" An eye appeared on the hat and blinked at the boy. Kraig screamed and dropped the item. The hat stared at its owner. Kraig looked around, making sure that no one was around him. Then again, he hasn't seen anyone other than the rabbit-eared weirdo. "Listen, hat. If I'm gonna wear you, you better be more cool-looking," he told the animate object. The hat blinked and smashed itself, then reformed as a bowler hat. "Try again." The hat repeated the action and reformed as a fedora hat. "Nope." The hat then reformed into a bucket hat. "Fine," he said as he let out a breath. He picked the hat up and put it on his head.

"Now time to get out of this forest," Kraig mumbled as he moved forward. The boy had no idea where he was. He was just taking random twists and turns. All of a sudden, the forest changed. There were no longer trees, but giant mushrooms that took their place. He saw giant butterflies soar through the sky above. There was also a large spider, eyeing him from the side. Not sure about his safety in such a place, Kraig kicked a long stick into his hand for his own protection. The boy used the stick to tap the area in front of him as he walked. Seeing the large spider made him worried that there could be a burrowing spider.

Kraig sat on a low mushroom to take a break. As soon as he did, it was suddenly night. Kraig stretched himself on the mushroom that was now glowing a luminous hue. If he remembered, Wonderland was supposed to have a weird sense of time. That certainly explained the sudden change of day to night. He wondered when the sunrise and sunset fit in into the equation.

An eerie fog slowly crept over Mushroom Forest as day quickly turned to night. "I wouldn't sit there," her voice sang through the mushroom mass, "nor would I breathe the air. At least not where you are."

The moon was full and oddly bright. The mushrooms gave off a golden glow except for one mushroom that gave off a soft, silvery color, which Minerva lay upon. "Who are you?" She asked, her voice hushed but sharp.

Minerva lay on her back, the mushroom was big enough so that she fit perfectly on it. Her silvery hair flowed to the ground, nearly touching it, blending in with the fog that already covered the earth. Correction, it wasn't fog, it was smoke and Minerva was the source of it.

Suddenly, the sky turned dark and the moon was shining above. Miyuki looked around, a little alarmed at the sudden change in time. " Does this always happen?" Miyuki asked, looking at the little child who was now by his side. " Yes sire." The child nodded and Miyuki slowly pulled away from the balcony.

" Are you going out now sire? Do not forget your hunting knife. You forgot it the last time you left the palace." One of the attendants held out a sheathed knife to Miyuki with both hands and Miyuki took it and unsheathed it. The silver shone in the pale light and reflected nicely. There was a heart-shaped gap near the hilt of the knife. " What would I need a knife for?" Miyuki asked, sheathing the knife.

" Why, to summon a guard!" Another attendant said gleefully. Miyuki nodded. " You remember right? Just draw a heart in the air with it and a guard will protect you." The attendant squealed. Miyuki nodded and walked out of the chambers.

It took Miyuki some time to get to the exit but once he did, many guards were escorting him to the edge of the area. There was a dark, foreboding mushroom forest and an aromatic scent wafting in the air. " Is that my best bet? Hopefully someone knows where I am." Miyuki said and dismissed his escorts before walking into the forest.

"Kukuku... I wonder how I got here," was what could be heard from the very highest tree of the Mushroom Forest, its owner's amused voice cutting through the otherwise tranquil air around him. Kuzuya, or more affectionately deemed 'Mr. Cheshire,' continued to lean against one of the branches of this tall tree; his legs, clad with dark leather, were crossed and his eyes, which were currently closed, hidden behind his yellow bangs. "Uwaaah~ This wait is so boring. When will this feeling of mine come true, I wonder?" A curious, child-like expression on his face now, Kuzuya began to finger one of his necklaces and then grinned suddenly as he heard a whisper.

"Kuzuya can hear the trees saying something~" he softly affirmed, face now swaying in the same direction as the wind around him. "Mmm... It seems to be important news!" He clapped happily, now jumping up and landing on his feet. "Uwah! That was a close one!" he yelped as he almost fell, grin still plastered happily on his face. "But~ I should go greet these new people, shouldn't I?" Ending this 'thought' with an almost too-gleeful-for-his-own-good giggle, Kuzuya quickly made his way back to Minerva's location in the Mushroom Forest. "Mistress~! <3" was all he said in greeting at the sight of the caterpillar, bowing low once to indicate proper respect. "Do you bring new pre---" Stopping short at the sight of Kraig, Kuzuya then skipped over to him after a moment's pause and lightly poked his forehead.

"Are you sleeping there, sir~?" was all that was asked in a light and curious tone. "Or is your mind now too scrambled to speak? <3"

Kraig stared at the strange woman. "Why should I? It's not like this mushroom is dying any time soon," Kraig said haughtily, before invading the woman's own mushroom by jumping on it. "Kraig Evans Oderick," he introduced himself while stretching. Obviously not showing any respect to her. "Mad Hatter," he added with a sarcastic smirk. "Now since I gave you my name, give me yours."

Kraig was a bit shocked at the sudden appearance of a new character. It was weird that he even poked his forehead. The boy hit the other's hand away. "Who said a I was sleeping?" he asked the strange new person. "Much less, having a scrambled mind." Kraig's hat twitched. And twitched again, this time making odd sounds. Instead of scrambling the Hatter's mind, the boy had scrambled the hat's. Kraig rolled his eyes and let out a breath at the weird reaction of his hat. Kraig removed the hat off his head and stared at it long and hard until it became silent. Placing the hat back on his head, Kraig thought, 'I'm not letting some stupid item make me lose front.'

"Ah, Mad Hatter, sir," said a familiar voice beside the Caterpillar. "Why don't you have a relaxing cup of tea now, sir?" he said with a smile. "Would we not all enjoy that, madame and sirs." "Shut up, rabbit-freak." Gray Rabbit pouted. "How now, sir, I am just doing my job." Kraig glared at Gray Rabbit, but then thought of an idea. "Hey, rabbit-freak, why don't you go look for the Jabberwock and bring me one of its claws. And while you're at it, get me some Jubjub feathers." "But, Mad Hatter, sir---" "Just go or I'll treat you like a dormouse!"

The Gray Rabbit frowned. "May I entreat what these are for, Mad Hatter, sir?" "They're for... uh... relaxation purposes! So go!" Gray Rabbit, with a quizzical look left. "Man, he's a nut to deal with," Kraig said as he stole the cigarette off of the Caterpillar's cigarette holder. The boy took a puff of it. "Now, names. Both of you."

Feeling a tad bit lost, Miyuki walked into the Mushroom Forest and listened to the voices. One of these voices was demanding to know the names of the others. He coughed a little from breathing in the vapors and backed away into the forest, pressing his mouth against his sleeve. " Oh god..." He muttered and looked up. ' The tops seem fine...' He thought, climbing a tree and then jumped down, swearing that he could have broken the mushroom with the weight of his boots alone.

" Why are these boots so heavy?" Miyuki asked himself and took a large breath of fresh air. " Hmm... Now which way?" He asked, listening to the other voices and continued to carefully hop from one mushroom top to another.

At the sight of the Cheshire cat, Minerva sat up. "Mistress~! <3" She had heard the cat's greeting. When he had bowed to her, she nodded her head in acknowledgement and watched as the curious cat make his way over to their guest.

When Kraig had jumped on her mushroom, she didn't say a thing. Patience is a virtue...

Minerva listened to the two boys exchange conversation. With a wave of her hand, she conjured a cigarette in a long cigarette holder. She took a long drag from it and exhaled the smoke in a slow, steady stream. It took the form of a gray rabbit. The smoke-rabbit hopped around a few times before disappearing with the wind. Upon the disappearance of the smoke-rabbit, the Gray Rabbit had appeared offering tea. She placed her cigarette down on the ash tray and swung her feet off the mushroom, sitting up straight.

When Kraig had stolen her cigarette, that was the last straw. She snatched her cigarette back so fast, Minerva could've torn one of his fingers off. "Where. Are. Your. Manners?!" With ever word the smoke surrounding them grew thicker and turned a deeper red. Minerva now stood, towering over the boy, seemingly growing bigger.

“Kukuku! Your hat makes such a funny sound, hehe!” Kuzuya let out a rather high-pitched giggle, his eyes now practically gleaming in delight. “I think you’ll make a fun playmate, hehe! I haven’t had someone exciting to play with in a while~” He began humming in an upbeat manner and jumped up on one of Minera’s mushrooms, then disappearing from it and landing on the branches of a nearby tree. Taking a seat so that his legs dangled and letting out a long sigh, the Cheshire Cat looked up at the sky.

“No~ I don’t feel like telling you my name, sir,” he answered in a rather haughty tone, expression now set into a pout. “It needs to be earned, you know~ Kuzuya doesn’t give it for fre--- OH!” The ‘cat’ let out a crazy laugh, almost falling off the tree as he began to double over. “Kuzuya just told you his name, hehe! Kuzuya’s a bad person at hiding things!”

About to continue his useless rambling, the cat-like figure stopped short at the sight of the caterpillar. “You got mistress mad, you bad boy~!” he yelled out, though his expression said otherwise. He looked amused, as if this were just some big joke. “I hope she punishes you! No one ever gets away from stealing something from mistress. . . ever, kuku!”

Kraig scoffed at how the strange woman grew. "Rude, ain't ya?" he said with a mock grin as he extinguished the cigarette by rubbing it on the mushroom. Obviously, he wasn't really impressed. Afterall, it was Wonderland.

Not wanting to be squashed by the woman, he moved onto another mushroom some distance away from her. 'Gotta keep an eye on that Kuzuya guy and the rabbit,' he thought as he sat down on the mushroom. He knew that, aside from the woman, they were not normal. The boy clicked his tongue, remembering that he had left his walking stick on the floor, which was being fogged up with spores. Kraig let out a breath.

The boy then realized that the sun was setting. He glared at the sun's direction. When will the boy have time to sleep? Much more, where? Not wanting to stay with the two weird beings, Kraig hopped off atop the mushrooms only to bump into another person. This other person was vaguely familiar, since Kraig only saw him in class and never approached him. 'What was his name again?' "Terazuma?"

Miyuki almost fell off the mushroom after running (or jumping) straight into Kraig. "Terazuma?" The other boy asked. To avoid potentially falling off the mushroom, Miyuki had to swing his arms back so that he could push his body forward. It was hard when his boots were so heavy. " Yes. And you are..." Miyuki had to think about this one a little. " Oh yes. Oderick. That is your last name anyway." He shrugged, somewhat relieved to see a somewhat familiar face.

" Do you have any idea where we-" He was stopped in mid-sentence by the hat and did not say much more than that, watching it quietly. " Yes..." He cleared his throat and then looked to Miyuki. " Do you know where we are?" He asked quietly and slowly sank down on the mushroom before sitting down and making himself a little more comfortable. He noticed a large cloud of smoke but said nothing.

" I had no idea you smoked." Miyuki finally said to Kraig after noticing Kraig's scent was similar to that of cigarettes.

"Make sure the game isn't easy for them."

"Yes, sir."

"And he is also very rude to Miss Doyle."

Raye and Faye popped up from seemingly nowhere behind Miyuki, purposely trying to scare him off the mushroom. Raye popped up on his left, and Faye on his right. They both wore identical happy smiles on their faces, looking on in curiosity at the visitors to the strange world that is Wonderland. Then they moved around Miyuki and went up in front of Kraig. "You should apologize," they said in unison and almost glided away from the boy before he could react to them. Then they looked at each other.

"They're so boring," said Raye.
"It'd be more fun if we told them," answered Faye.
They turned to everyone else, ignoring any strange looks; they were used to that. "You guys have powers, so use them!" they said, once again in unison.
