What Christmas gifts are you making?

I'm probably making candy wreaths this year. They're easy, and people love them.

Hmm...I'm planning to settle down with some Simply Soft and a knitting loom and churn out hats for Operation Christmas Child; they always need extra items to put in boxes. (Some people pack very skimpy boxes; others put in items that are on the no-no list, which must be removed.)

Besides that, we're giving my mom a basic digital camera, so I'll probably knit her a case for it.

Other than that, I don't really know if I WILL be making any other gifts. sad.gif

My beloved is encouraging me to make more gifts...

I think I'm going to make princess headdresses for my best friends' little girls. (They will be six and almost-three).

For my dance instructor, I think I'm going to make the Ogee Lace Skirt from Interweave Knits Summer 2007 (which I bought while on vacation). I'm considering Berroco Cotton Twist, which is certainly cheaper than the Rowan Bamboo Tape. Soul or Frankenberry, I think. $4.35 per hank as opposed to $9.80! (Almost identical weight and yardage.)

For my troupe mates? I'm thinking felted zill (finger cymbal) bags and homemade glycerin soaps: I have the stuff for the soaps, and the bags don't take much yarn.

That little skirt is gorgeous! If you're feeling industrious, you could even needle felt some designs onto the machine felted bags.

I found a lace bookmark pattern that's pretty and working up quick. I'm using looonnnggggg size 3 needles and purple/blue variegated crochet thread and it's turning out pretty. Looks like the ladies will be getting these for Christmas this year!

That's so pretty!

Did you see the book worm pattern?

I could have sworn people made those when I was a kid...

I've totally changed my mind. smile.gif

I'm making a pair of these for the girls: the Voluptuous Octopus! Isn't it adorable?

And for my dance instructor: the lacy-edged legwarmers from Leigh Radford's One Skein...I realized I had to have her project finished by the first Monday in December, so I'll save the skirt for next year.

I bought the octopus pattern, and I'm going to start it as soon as I finish Saroya's leg warmers.

I did add one item to my list: my cousin wants to learn to knit, so I don't have to make her something...but I do have to buy her yarn and needles! She wants to make a "really long" scarf...
