Sitting Proud

[Ice]

Ice sat proudly atop the Ridge, watching the world below. The Thunder Leader often came here to watch and to think, away from other troublesome animals. This dark figure on the cloudless sky looked ominous enough, but to those close enough to see the vengeful look on the Faltor's face...many knew not to interact with this female, as getting on the wrong side of her could be fatal. With the power to plan stratagies to be carried out with no way of tracing, there was a reason why she sat so proudly on the Ridge.

[Feuer]

Feuer was walking up toward the Skytop Ridge when he realized Ice was up there and appeared to be deep in thought. He slowed his pace and set his path for another ridge a little below the one Ice was on. Ice knows I'm here but she deserves the respect of a clan leader and I won't interfere with her thoughts

Feuer sat on the lower ridge overlooking the valley below and was thinking, I've never been here before but I can certainly see why a creature would want to be on this high place with only the wind making any noise. What a fantastic view.

[Ice]

Deep in her thoughts, Ice just barely heard Feuer as he moved onto the platform below her. The vengeful look imediatly dissapeared from her face, replaced with her usual blank expression. She gave nothing away as she continued to sit, the wind blowing her fur each way as it grew in strength. Clouds had begun to form above the Ridge, dark, grey clouds. But it was the roll of thunder which called Ice's eyes upwards, the flash of lightning causing her face to harden. Rain began to fall around her.

[Feuer]

It was a warm day and the falling rain was cold and the lightning was close. Feuer looked in the direction of the lightning flashes as the dark grey clouds moved into the area. Here is a great example of the power of nature. This is what we will be able to celebrate once we've stopped the humans from their destruction of this environment. This storm is a great example of nature telling us how strong it can be.

[Ice]

Now this, Ice thought, This is something the human's can't control. Getting back to her feet as another roll of thunder sounded, Ice couldn't help but call along with it, her booming howl resounding across the sky.

[Feuer]

Feuer turned when he heard Ice howl with the storm. What a magnificent way to join with nature.

He rose to his feet and looking into the storm, joined Ice in her recognition of the strength of nature by howling as she was.

[Strika]

The rain poured all over now. Strika stood and shook his whole body, though rain still continued to soak him all over. Then, a howl...another one followed. He looked up to Skytop Ridge, which wasn't so far away. He then followed the howls, despite the pouring rain, and climbed up the ridge. He caught sight of his clan leader, Ice, and Feuer. Feeling that it was best not to get too close, Strika stayed in his spot which was just a little farther down than where Feuer was. Instead of joining in the howling, he decided to just sit there and enjoy the rain beating on his body. The view was beautiful.

[Feuer]

The lightning and thunder continued. The rain came down hard and some thunder moved on to the east and more lightning and thunder followed. This was a huge storm and the howling continued even though the rain was soaking everyone in the area.. The sound of the howls seemed to echo off of every rain drop.

[Ice]

Ice was in her element. Howling with the wind, her voice merging harmonically with the thunder, for once in her life the Thunder Leader paid no attention yo anything else, and just continued to sing the melody of the storm. Oh how she loved it. All the emotions she kept in rang out into the storm; Sadness, confusion, happyness. It was all included. Things she would never share with anyone flew out of her jaws. Her ice blue eyes closed as the rain lashed down on her jet black fur, seeming to dance with the wind. She looked just as entranced as she felt, taking a step closer to the edge without noticing. No thoughts passed through her usually racing mind, and a low, haunting pain slid from her throat, as if begging the thunder to return to her. She never wanted this feeling to stop. She was dangerously close to the edge of the Ridge, high above the world.

[Feuer]

The rain continued to beat down with a tempo that lit an internal fire in Feuer and as he continued to sing the song that Ice began he started to hear an intensity in the howl of Ice that he'd not heard before. He quieted his song to hear Ice better. Feuer looked up at the next ridge and saw Ice completely taken over by the emotion in her music and she had moved dangerously close to the edge of the ridge.

Feuer had gotten almost silent in his singing and when he saw Ice, he moved quickly to the higher level and softly kept with the song Ice was singing as he approached her. He was watching her movements as she had been drawn closer to the edge.

[Ice]

Completely oblivious to the world, her eyes closed and her fur flying, the pain and sadness in her voice shook the earth as her power over sound cast it out across the land with the thunder. The lightning slowly ceased, as did the thunder, but the rain continued to fall in sheets. Ice took another step forwards. Her eyes shot open. But it was too late; the edge of the Ridge crumbled under her large paw, and she slipped on the drenched rock. She fell. Breaking out of her trance the moment her eyes had opened, All song had ended suddenly, leaving an eerie silence in her wake. Time seemed to slow as she fell the great height, unable to find a grip on the soaked rock around her. Finally, after what seemed like an age, the thump of her landing, and a clattering of rocks around her broke the silence, the sound of the rain returning. She lay still where she had fallen on her side - A large black shape on the rain-soaked ground.

[Feuer]

Feuer was just getting close when Ice went over the edge. He ran to the edge and looked down. Feuer raised his head and howled as loud as he could. His howl was to Strika who was just below. He told Strika to get Wolf of Silence and bring her to the stream by the volcano. That would be where he and Ice would be. He also howled to White wave and asked her to meet them there to help.

Feuer vanished from the ridge and reappeared below, next to Ice and howled again and a flash of light shot across the sky and landed where Ice and feuer were. Feuer nuzzled Ice to see if he was alert. There was life in Ice but she was quiet. There was a bright glow around Ice, Feuer and a third creature much larger than both of them.

Feuer wasn't concerned about Ice waking and seeing the large Faltor with them for Ice had already seem him with Feuer. Feuer spoke quietly to Ice so he could be heard through the noise of the storm. "Ice we want to bring you to the healing waters near the volcano. My friend can use the elements of fire and water to heal you there. Please hear me Ice and respond in some way..."

[Ice]

Ice slowly opened her icy blue eyes halfway, not suprised by the glow, but finding it highly annoying. She coughed, and a red substance glistened on her jaw. She twitched - seemingly trying to get up. How could she have been so foolish, letting herself get carried away like that. She was supposed to be stronger than that.

Managing to shift onto her side, Ice yelped and fell back, glaring at Feuer as if it was his fault. There was also blood on her shoulder, and the movement had caused her to cough up more blood. But still she wouldn't allow Feuer to get too close to her. She had gotten herself into this situation, and she would get herself out of it. Alone, as she always had been.

[Feuer]

The larger Faltor with Feuer sat next to Ice. Feuer also sat and faced the larger animal. The glow went away but the area around the three was getting dry and rain fell all around them but not on them. Feuer turned to Ice and nuzzeled her. "Please Ice, let us at least take you to lay in the healing waters by the volcanoes."

[Ice]

Ice tried to shift away from him, but only managed to bring herself more pain. She wouldn't object to going to the waters, but she wouldn't allow the others to see her like this. No, she was far to proud for that. She would have snapped at Feuer for getting so close to her, but she knew that if she was alone in this situation then she would be much worse off. Again she tried to get up, managing to move onto her front with little more than a wince. From there she tucked her legs under her and just about succeeded in getting shakily to her feet. Shaking her drenched fur, sending a mix of water and blood everywhere, Ice looked down to see her legs shaking with the strain of keeping her up. She gritted her teeth in frustration, spitting the blood from her mouth onto the floor.
