Hahahaha laugh.gif

I would say about 3 or 4 in a tank with that much filtration would do alright (they may even spawn!!). Make sure you allow time for enough algea to grow befor you put them in.

I have kept these before, but they have never done that well. They were my very first fish, and I managed to kill them in 4 days (got them home from LFS, got tank, filled it up from tap with water around 30*C, then wondered why they died wink.gif) Second time they stayed alive for about 8-12 months, but I think the water was to warm and there was not enough algea in the tank.

When are you getting them? They are a really neat fish banana[1].gif.

Cheers, CatBrat.

Just think how much deeper the ocean would be if sponges didn't live there.

lol catbrat
well i'll be getting them round new year coz i havn't got a light yet and it'll take a few weeks for algae to grow. and of course i'll have to search around the LFS's to see if i can find some interesting variations in their patterns cool.gif

biggrin.gif Dude, I kept quiet but you know which number I voted for (4) .
I hope you do well with them, I've been starting to fret about how mine will do when the weather really starts to warm up here because some of our tanks reach 34c sad.gif BUT I do have them in the coolest tank which normally doesn't go over 30c.
Good luck Dude and let us know when you get them.

I bet they are Dude! biggrin.gif
The 4ft that my guys are in hit 32c in the heatwave we had recently and the hillies were fine. Just hoping that they can handle that sort of temp for several days or weeks at a time huh.gif

another update, i snagged a really nice hillstream today, i think it is the spiny-head hillstream loach gastromyzon ctenocephalus. it is a bit smaller than my other one but it should be ok..and i decided i am going to get 3 hillstreams for my tank, so i'm gonna wait till i see another species...till then my hillstream tank is complete with the exception of a few plants..
