I have tried but don't like playing with my voices disabled. It removes the sound when the flag is taken, which is very helpful.

Is there a way to maybe delete all the files from a certain folder except the flag sound, or something? I really need to be able to hear the flag noise, but I can't take all the spamming by the children.

Remember, I have stock trorbs with lh patch, so my options are a bit different than 1.4.

Just mute players if they are spamming. You've yet to explain why this is an issue.

I have tried a few combos in the past in attempt to achieve this, like 3d sound down, 2d sound down, no voices, etc, but I couldn't get what I was looking for.

wouldnt removeing the 5150 set it back to a basic tribes game ? I would tend to think so. then all you will see is the text. unless they spam the basic commands that came with the game.

yup, unless of course Damnit, shazbot, how'd that feel?; and other stock sounds are too much. then you could possibly delete the male and female voice packs in their entirety and maybe get away with no voices.

and bong, the reason it is, and always has been, such an issue is because I usually listen to music on the same computer while I am playing.
I like to be able to hear when I am being shot at and the flag sound, so I have to keep the game's sound reasonably loud. In doing so, I hear all the annoying bs just as loudly.
Many people spam, I think it would be much easier to permanently remove this annoyance rather than individually mute each person, every time I join a server. I hope my mortal reasoning is sufficient for your greatness. :)

actually I tried this tonight, with 5150 turned off, you could use the basic comands and ( mute noise ) this allows the flag cap sounds and gun fire to come threw , but blocks all chat sounds. you do it in game. I had frank the tank spamming for me and couldnt hear or see the chat, unless I looked in console log.

Escape -> options -> sound -> unckeck the voices box. Go in game. Press k unclick show chat. Viola. Just play. I actually play exactly like that more and more now and I have found my game is getting better without reading all the BS I pay more attention to whats going on.

Death, that works! I have to side with Jerry in that all the voices are annoying. I am always individually muting players so i can listen to music or just concentrate on the game. I still like to leave the chat box up in case someone try's to get my attention tho.

For legacy players with presto pack, you can press ctrl+m(or whatever you have it binded to) to bring up the presto mute menu. that allows you to "secretly" mute players

I just disable the voices in 5150.
So that was I can still give out commands, and not have to put up with annoying spam :rolleyes: :wave:

changeing your tribes will not solve jerry's issue. he hates all the spam in the server. it's his end that needs to be changed, not yours. concidering, he admitted that you didnt even know who he was when this all occured, then you weren't trying to single out jerry. so dont worry about it. were not going to tell everyone that comes in the server, thats it's a library now and they cant use 5150
he has been given three solutuions to the problem and now it is up to him to fix what he could have done along time ago. which would have avoided all of this, and the rediculous death threats.
