To answer your question, because I am better than Erowid, and about as good as Crow, although our skill sets differ so greatly, that is hard to measure, and Crow is better than me at 8/10 aspects of the game.

There is no new level. The targetted area takes damage. Cool. rofl. That's it. It isn't skill. Renegades Sniper, or base sniper, yeah, that's skill.

You're right, there is no new level. The level has been set and far passed. I've seen many legends of Annihilation over the years, and that is something not everyone has seen. I've seen/done some of the craziest things you could ever imagine being done in the game. Everything from rocket jumping off one titan in midair, to midair rocketing another one, and following that rocket with a particle beam. That's just barely scratching the surface of what I've seen/done. Moves and combos that will probably never be seen or done again in Tribes 1, but who knows. You could say ohhh that's child's plays, but any real tribes veteran who has put countless hours into the game knows the limits, and the things that exceed them limits to make tribal master pieces. Combine that crazy skill with a person who knows team work, and what it takes to win a game. You never know what's going to happen with that. All the greatest legendz I've known have moved on, so I guess you don't know what real Tribes skill is, as you would of had to been there to see it.

Although don't get me wrong, there are still some top notch players, and I would put both Ero and Jerry high on that list. Well above the average good Tribes player.

I knew Tribes "skill", just not in Annihilation. I was more of a Renegades and Base guy. Anni doesn't interest me to much, to be honest.

I will say this though, Crow, you do prove to be a challenge, you are pretty good at mid armor dueling, but even you have to admit the PB is pretty easy, mid air rocketing is pretty cool, and fun though.

It's not a question of whether there can be skill in the game (which yes, and yes there still are skilled players), but whether the game you can play now requires skill, and to the latter, I'd say no. The remaining clans never scrim, and public matches are basically a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut off (every player doing their own thing, not working as a team, or helping their team).

It's definitely not the same game we used to play, and in my opinion, it isn't nearly as fun as it used to be, when skill was a part of the game, and teamwork was appreciated and utilized.

There is a lot of skill involved still, granted the game is in a decline.
