I'm not nearly proud enough of my phone to take pictures of it and post them...
I have an LG Optimus on Cricket's network...
The network is good, but the phone is slow as fuck.

LOLOLOL, same phone, it's boss.
The batt life on it is not as good as my last phone, but I've found a few tricks to make it last all day. :)
mZigZz - December 13, 2011 02:03 AM (GMT)
you can get the battery packs that makes those things stay on for like a week......
S']['U - December 15, 2011 01:56 AM (GMT)
Hmmmmm... some people need lessons on picture re-sizing.
Anyway, just for giggles (but true), here's what the AT&T store here was using as a doorstop this summer.....

...and my cheap piece of shit:

When I got it, I missed my old Nokia's ring-tone so much that I decided to make it myself on my computer:

I like it because it sounds like a PHONE! ...and it's plenty loud.

Just recently got the new I-Phone. I had a Blackberry for a while and miss it already.

my girlfriend was blackberry crazy just like all her little girlfriends and she was reluctant but got an iphone 2 weeks ago.

I can now see why. The I-Phone is more of a toy and I use the phone for a lot of business stuff. It's an I-Touch with calling. I liked the texting set up on the Blackberry much better. There's many flaws in the I-Phone format. I should have gotten the Droid.
Let me know if anyone finds a bomber App. I get bored sometimes and the game Apps I've found are horribad so far. Great entertainment for my youngins though.

You need to get that snes app bro.
Bongwater - January 14, 2012 03:24 AM (GMT)
are u fucking kidding me?
email; and business apps are king on iphone. name something u cant do.
also texting sucks on BB compared with iphone.
TXRedneck - January 14, 2012 05:49 PM (GMT)
It's a matter of opinion Bong. Like I said; I just recently got it and still learning how to navigate through it.
You want an example? Well what I can't do with the I-Phone that I could do with the Blackberry was select a contact and had options of e-mail, sms, or mms. With the I-Phone you have to navigate through to the exact option rather than just selecting the contact and having the options available all together. Also; If I wanted to send a text or e-mail to multiple people; I haven't figured out how to add the same message to multiple contacts. With the Blackberry it was an immediate option and available from the get go using the Blackberry key.
Maybe I'm missing an App to be able to do those things or simply haven't figured that out yet. I like simplicity and convenience. Both are crucial when something is time sensitive.

I can't figure out how to edit things on it without itunes, is there a way?
Bongwater - January 15, 2012 12:02 AM (GMT)
So basically what u are saying is that u dont know how to use it yet. Not even basic options.
Cause what u speak of is right in the contact.

While in the persons contact u tap send a text to send a text, u touch their phone number to call them or touch their email to email them.
and sending group msgs is super easy.
So i do understand that u are not fully aware how to use ur phone just yet and are accustom to the blackberry. That doesnt change the fact that the blackberry is a complete pos when compared to an iphone.

Have you ever jail broken your phone?
Just wondering. I had an iphone for like 3 years, and just recently switched to the HTC android, I love the way android phones are setup, but I do miss the iphone keyboard. By far the best keyboard I've seen on a smart phone. I never really played around with the iphone much, but I've done quite a bit of research on the android, and have been doing amazing things with it after rooting it.
This is the phone I wish I had gotten now, but I will wait and see if another cool gaming phone comes out in the next few years.

And lol to the ad.
Bongwater - January 15, 2012 02:04 AM (GMT)
yea i always jailbreak..
just not now cause the jailbreak for the A5 devices isnt out yet.. expected though in the next few days.
RairLogic - January 16, 2012 11:49 PM (GMT)
I am getting my new phone soon, it is a LG DoublePlay
perrinoia - January 17, 2012 05:20 PM (GMT)
I find the Siri hype hillarious, considering android users have been able to talk to their phones since their inception.
On my phone, there is a microphone key in the onscreen keyboard, if I type that key, I can talk to the phone and it will transcribe whatever I say.
So, instead of typing addresses, google searches, text messages, or even things I want to post on these forums, I just speek to my phone, and it transcribes it with a fair amount of accuracy.
Although I like my mobile OS better, I concede that even the original iPhone hardware is better than my Optimus, except for the fact that I can swap out microSD/sim cards and batteries without voiding the warranty.

Can we start a new poll in relation to this thread?
How many people think Perrin tried to call Fat Mary?
TXRedneck - February 12, 2012 05:34 PM (GMT)
Hey Bong,
Isn't there a way to utilize my I-phone with I-tunes?
Bongwater - February 12, 2012 09:43 PM (GMT)
Plug it in? Ull have to b more specific. I think ur trying to ask something else.
TXRedneck - February 13, 2012 05:29 PM (GMT)
Ah yea never mind i figured it out. lol Thanks anyway man.
Jerry Garcia - February 24, 2012 04:51 PM (GMT)
Well, I thought I would ask for some advice here, since I know a few of you have been through some of the various versions of the iphone. I'm probably not like you, Bong, where I need the newest and best the day it comes out, but I would like to maximize my money and get the best value. Keep in mind, I am far from the position I used to be in where money is no object, but I wouldn't mind making a decent investment as long as it is worth it.
So, I have an iphone 3g, that I got for free. I can connect it to whatever network. It looks like the best options for me are either h20 wireless which is $60/month, no contract, and has unlimited talk, text, and 1 gb data. The next best option is with Sprint, for about $75, I can get 450 mins, 250 text, and the only actual unlimited data plan offered in the US.
So, an iphone 4 with a 2 year contract is $100, an iphone 4s is $200, or the bigger memory 4s for $300. Are the advancements in these models even worth the extra money, or should I just stick with the 3g I have for free.
Then what about the data? Is 1gb enough, or is it worth the extra ~$20 for unlimited data? I hear that data only really gets used heavily while watching videos, but at 3g speeds can you even watch videos without constantly waiting for it to buffer? What about the iphone 4 or 4s, are they faster, and able to stream videos seemlessly?
I would really like to be able to watch movies or tv shows on it, and as many as I like.
Thanks in advance for any opinions or information.
Bongwater - February 24, 2012 06:15 PM (GMT)
Even the iphone 4 is a MASSIVE upgade from the iphone 3g. It would b worth ur while to upgrade to a 4 or 4s
Jerry Garcia - February 24, 2012 07:08 PM (GMT)
Could you give me some reasons you feel that way? Like anything really cool I couldn't do on the 3 that I could do on the 4? There seems to be too much to learn too quickly, so you seem like the guy to ask as you've had them all and know computer stuff.
I just got back from the Sprint store and they told me the iphone 4 is faster, like the actual computer processor, but the service will not be any faster. Which means I can't watch tv any better, right?
After getting all that explanation at the store, to me, it seems like a waste of money buying the new iphone every time it comes out, especially because you cannot get the discounted prices every time, right? Obvioulsy it was worth it to you, but I'm not seeing the value in it personally.
I guess if I am going to upgrade, I might as well go 4s which has some better features, some dumb bitch named Siri to talk to  , and 8 extra gb of memory all for only $100 more. However in a few months when they come out with a 4g network for iphones and the iphone 5, I will be right back in the same position, with an outdated piece of crap, except I'll now be $200 poorer.
Jerry Garcia - February 25, 2012 10:10 PM (GMT)
Well, like usual I choose complete financial irrespobsibility and went with the 4s. It's fuckin sweet, but now I understand how Redneck was feeling. I have never had anything Apple and I don't know how to do anything but make a call. Should be a fun learning process though.
Anyone have any cool tips or tricks about neat shit I can do?
Bongwater - February 25, 2012 11:36 PM (GMT)
Jerry Garcia - February 26, 2012 03:35 PM (GMT)
You think it's worth voiding the warranty considering it's only $50 to get a new phone with the warranty if something happens as opposed to $650 to replace without. I have heard of a few people that have had their battery fail and had to replace their whole phone since you cant swap out the battery.
Bongwater - February 26, 2012 07:04 PM (GMT)
jailbreaking is completely legal and apple cant possibly figure out that uve done it if u need to warranty it.
I have personally replaced a lot of iphones all jailbroken.
thats a desperate attempt by apple to prevent people from jailbreaking after courts deemed it completely legal.
Jerry Garcia - February 26, 2012 08:26 PM (GMT)
Really? That sounds too good to be true.
I have been reading that you can restore the phone to factory settings, so they most likley can't tell, but what if something happens and you can't use the phone at all, then you have to send it in. Couldn't they potentially fix the problem and then see that it is jailbroken and chose not to honor the warranty?
Sorry if this is simple to you, but it is confusing to me.
Bongwater - February 27, 2012 12:08 AM (GMT)
apple will never consider a jailbreakers warranty void. ever. period. It just wont happen.
Jerry Garcia - February 27, 2012 11:14 PM (GMT)
Well then they are liars! :o
It should be legal to put whatever programs you want on your device. However, I can see their point. If you put stuff they don't approve of on your phone, they shouldn't have to warranty it.
Any feedback on the complaints that the phone suffers errors or glitches after jailbreaking?
Bongwater - February 28, 2012 01:34 AM (GMT)
The warrenty is on the device not its software. They have no right to void a warrenty because of software.
If a cydia package makes ur phone unstable in any way, which it shouldnt, remove that package.
Jailbreaking itself has zero chance of making ur phone unstable but depending on what u install on it u may if u dont know what ur doing. Either way u cant hurt it with trial and error. A 10 minute restore is the worst of any situation. U cant brick an iphone.
Bongwater - February 28, 2012 02:43 AM (GMT)
I have a couple days off coming up. I think i might make a section where i give walkthrough of how to jailbreak devices and also review tweeks and cydia packages and repositories.
