Title: Drop the banhammer on Manimal

agitator - July 28, 2011 10:10 PM (GMT)
Here's why:

user posted image

BAN FOR 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS. Alto, that's just a sample - I have two more screen shots of all-chatbox manimal tab-menu spam.

Republic - July 28, 2011 10:42 PM (GMT)
Naw but hes like the class clown of tribes
You need people like him to make tribes a better place

Scud - July 28, 2011 11:43 PM (GMT)
well I'm sure S2 was doin somethin dumb in the first place

Stank - July 29, 2011 01:35 AM (GMT)
Stop using tinypic!!!!!

When the image loads in an hour I'll post again. With no context to go with I say yes ban that motherfucker. I still suspect HM for multiple reasons

<!>bo'sdad - July 29, 2011 01:37 AM (GMT)
thats not against the rules . annoying, but not against the rules.

(=SK=)Zorak - July 29, 2011 02:07 AM (GMT)
Hmm, I'd warn him and kick him. That is different than spamming the chatbox in that , Idon't think those messages can be ignored. It disrupts the gameplay, and nobody can talk to their teammates and say anything important because it'll be washed away in the river of spam messages.

He can't be vote kicked cause he always dodges it.

If you don't like what he does, just vote anything on him, he'll drop to dodge it and he doesn't reconnect immediately.

Edit: Your pic showed up. In that case, yeah, no idea.

Republic - July 29, 2011 06:44 AM (GMT)
Dropping out before the vote passes is probably my favorite feature of the game xD
In most other games a vote can pass even when he has dropped out, It takes effect the next time he joins. So why haven't you guys fixed it up yet?

Bongwater - July 29, 2011 12:27 PM (GMT)
he needs to be warned about this.. thats super annoying. if i was in that server id kick him if he ignored my warning.

<!>bo'sdad - July 29, 2011 02:37 PM (GMT)
I wonder,, muteing someone wouldnt stop that either would it ?

DesoLaTion - July 29, 2011 02:55 PM (GMT)
Muting doesn't stop that message. I've seen people mute someone else and then they (the muted) do something like that just to get back at them.

that would require the actual voting system to be fixed

Stank - July 29, 2011 05:26 PM (GMT)
Apparently voting works but you need a certain percentage of the server to vote or it won't count. Bah. Change that.

And the "You don't need to vote yet!" Should be cancelled if the person makes ANY input once in game, such as tab key, mouse, etc. That might make the problem go away without allowing trolls to vote kick someone on join.

Needs to be against the rules.

There's no in-game spam rules at all?

<!>bo'sdad - July 29, 2011 09:41 PM (GMT)
there are rules for spamming, but that is a server message. technicaly it's not spamming per say. but yeah, I agree it's a type of spaming and shouldnt be allowed. but I dont thnk its a banning offence, unless he did it time and time again. and was warned to stop.
It does amase me how creative people get at being an ass. I dont think Ive ever seen this before.

Karma - July 29, 2011 10:29 PM (GMT)
Check the Bugs List and Update News for the fix.

Ross Vernal - July 29, 2011 10:48 PM (GMT)
I've seen it many, many times, and I barely play these days.

>.>

I saw it before I went on my last hiatus!

Stank - July 29, 2011 11:48 PM (GMT)
I don't want to see the message go away. It's the only way for someone to know you muted them and didn't just say you did.

Maybe have it so if somebody executes that code 6 times in a row in 5 seconds, they themselves get muted.

agitator - July 30, 2011 11:25 PM (GMT)
Someone should merge this thread with his admin application (http://z6.invisionfree.com/brazilbrserver/...hp?showtopic=94).

I wonder,, muteing someone wouldnt stop that either would it ?

He did that bucause he was being majorly obnoxious and i hit the ignore button on him. He then spammed all that crap just to be even more annoying.

Actually fucktard, you kept making votes on me because I was jailing your noob ass. You cried like a little bitch about it and voted to kick me after I told you to suck it up. Then you kept voting to mute me.

TXRedneck - September 2, 2011 10:28 PM (GMT)
Is there a strip feature in the mod? Like for example to strip all rights as in any chat, vote, or ability to change teams etc..? I'm sure a freeze option is available that keeps a lot of these little differences from getting out of hand. :)

[df]Ninetails - September 3, 2011 06:47 AM (GMT)
Yes there already are features for removing voice pack, muting from typed chat, removing voting right and the ability to lock the team of the player.

scarecrow{oz} - September 5, 2011 12:19 AM (GMT)
I have played on non-annihilation servers in the past, and while I canít remember what server it was, I remember if you try to say something more than once in 5 seconds, ití stops you.

I think we need to adopt that!

** And Manimal, your right, people want to kick you often, cuz youíre good at the Jail gun. Hell you jailed me 9 times in 15 minutes, but that's your thing. BUT, the spam chat is not something Iíll allow if you or ANYONE does it. It's disrupting gameplay. If you have a complaint, come see an admin. We have ways of stopping stupid votes or vote spammers. Either way, vote or chat spamming is disrupting to all.

We know where talking to admin goes. :finger:

The reality is, if people can't deal with being jailed, they should find a mod/server that doesn't have jails. Let's face it, it all comes down to people getting jailed, over and over and over.

I recall that chat spam fairly well. It started like this. S2 was getting jailed over and over, so he and started votes on me. Anything from kick, to silence to freeze etc. It got to a point where I wasn't able to play because the second I joined a team S2 or some other fuckstick voted to kick me. So I reconnected and gave them some spam. This is what they wanted, this is what they got. Fuck em.

Manimal, Admins can't always be on, and you are right, people get frustrated. Shame, they cant take someone with skill and a jail gun. If i was on at that time, i would have taken away the voting rights of those trying to mess with you for no reason. Any admin would.

Now, i actually understand why you spammed... to keep the vote off their HUD. Like anything else in life, there is a right and wrong way to do things.

We both talked about this in game yesterday, you seemed cool with what I said. And while you gave the FINGER... i'll just say, "brothers gotta Hug!"
