Title: [DC][#57] Guys Auction
That_One_Chick - March 18, 2011 08:26 PM (GMT)
Tink took one last sip from her water bottle before she turned to face the ensemble of men one last time. After weeks and weeks of planning the auction was finally here! A lot of guys from Phillip's dorm had signed up for it and after hearing some stories from him about that dorm... this would be an interesting auction. Especially with the song she picked out and the choreography from Ken! Either way she knew that all her hard planning wouldn't be for nothing and that the money they needed would be raised tonight! Tink was about to go through the instructions and answer any last minute questions when her 'friend' came to talk to her... again.
Naven slid up next to Tink and shot her a charming smile. "Hello Tink! You are looking quite lovely today! So have you thought anymore about the conversation we had earlier? I am sure that the answer is yes, yes?"
Tink rolled her eyes. Naveen had been pestering her all week about his 'special entrance' when he was about to be presented and bid on. "For the last time Naveen, No! You cannot have a balloon drop and strobe lights when I announce you!" She pointed a finger towards the group. "Now go back over there and just wait for your cue!"
"Surely you must be kidding! I think that a Prince should have a special entr-" Tink crossed her arms and gave him an icy glare. "Alright, alright! I am going!" he started walking away. "Hmph, Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the college this morning..."
Tink, who was happy that her friend was gone, turned back around to the group with a smile on her face. "Alright everyone! It's almost time for the auction to start! Now remember, after you go out there and perform your dance you strike a pose for a couple of seconds, walk down the catwalk, then go backstage. Once your name is called I'll start reading the information off of the bio cards you all filled out as you walk down to the end of the stage. The girls will all bid and hopefully we'll raise the money we need to get those new uniforms! And remember no matter who bids on you you must do whatever they want for the rest of the day," She paused. "No matter what they ask! Then sometime tonight you and the lucky," Or unlucky, she thought. "Girl who bought you will go out on a date that you have planned. And please, try to do something that the girl would enjoy too. Don't plan to go to a boxing match and a monster truck rally if she likes pink and shopping," She added as one last though. Tink took a look at the clock on the wall. "Okay, so any last minute questions?"
Airy - March 18, 2011 09:07 PM (GMT)
Jim looked around at the other guys. Why was he even here? Oh, right. Because Rapunzel signed him up... against his will, of course. Jim would admit it, Rapunzel was cool most of the time, unless she was pulling crazy nonsense like this. He remembered when she told him she had signed him up.
"You did what!?" he had practically screamed.
Rapunzel was sitting on her bed, working on her Debate class essay at the time. She had mentioned signing him up in a nonchalant way, like it was no big deal- which to Jim... it was.
"Oh, don't be such a Mr. Grumpy Pants," she said with a giggle. "It'll be fun! You're so antisocial. You need to get out and I thought it was a good way for you to make friends."
Jim scoffed and leaned back, placing his feet on the computer desk.
"Get your feet off the desk!"
Jim slowly removed his feet and sat up straight in the chair. "Well, okay, Mother."
Rapunzel gave a fake look of authority. "You're welcome, James. Now if you ever put your feet on my furniture again, I will disown you as a friend."
Jim rolled his eyes at the flashback. He had done so much for this event and he would be glad to get it over with. He had almost walked out the door on the first day of Ken's dance lesson... but Rapunzel had threatened him and told him if he didn't cooperate, she'd put his bags in the girl's bathroom and not bring them back this time around.
Jim raised his hand as the pretty blonde girl asked for questions.
"If we were forced into this, do we have to participate?"
This had to be atleast the fifth time he had asked her that question in a week.
That_One_Chick - March 18, 2011 09:29 PM (GMT)
Tink smiled at Jim but inwardly sighed. "Yes, for the sixth time, you still have to participate. Think of it as a fun way to help fundraise money for the school! Just try not to have a negative outlook on the auction. I mean Who knows? You could end up meeting the woman of your dreams," She shrugged.
Nikki - March 18, 2011 10:00 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, she's right!" Hercules agreed, giving Jim a friendly pat on the back. He, too, had been dragged into this. Gaston had insisted that all the football players HAD to do it, and Hercules had been dumb enough to believe him.
However, like everything in his life, Hercules had taken this rather seriously. He practiced Ken's choreography after school (when no one else was watching of course), listened to the song one thousand times (he almost knew the lyrics!) and... worked out. A lot. If Gaston was right and if a lot of pretty girls were going to be out there with their eyes on him, then Hercules had to give it his best shot! He had to show them the great person he really was! Or at least that he thought we was.
He shook Jim's shoulder eagerly, trying to motivate his colleague. "I mean, we'll be... like... heroes! Everyone will be looking at us and thinking, 'Boy, I sure wish I had the guts to do what he's doing right now?'" He turned to the other men for support. "Right? Right??"
Phillip was busy sending an e-mail from his Blackberry. He had been doing it a lot lately... Every minute of every day, Phillip Van Dyke would be feverishly checking his messages, sending out e-mails, making phone calls... It was impossible to know what the man was up to, as he always seemed to be involved in one billion things at the same time.
But something... something felt different this time. Phillip was known to be a very focused young man who seemed to have a complete control over his life. But... not lately. The RA was constantly distracted, having forgotten his keys inside his room multiple times, forgotten to set his alarm, and sometimes even forgotten that he had a date with Aurora or that he had to cook dinner.
After Tink finished answering Jim's question, Phillip slipped his Blackberry back into his bag and turned to the group with a faint smile. "I... have a question, actually," he said humbly. "Just to be sure... we can choose where and what we do on this date, can't we? And also..." He shifted uncomfortably before continuing. "Are we allowed to say no to anything our... partner might suggest?" It was a question Aurora would have asked, he was sure.
Airy - March 18, 2011 10:07 PM (GMT)
Jim snapped his fingers in defeat. He definantly was not getting out of this. But how in the world was he going to pull this off? If any of his old friends saw what he was about to do, they'd roll over laughing.
"I guess you're right..." he said in response to Tink.
I wonder if Audrey's gonna be here...
His trail of thought was interupted by Hercules, who was shaking his shoulder.
"Heroes?" he asked in a mutter. "Well, okay then, if you say so... that might be somewhat far fetched though, if you ask me."
Jim was just unsure about the whole thing. How could all these other guys stand this? He just wasn't a typical guy, he assumed knowingly.

Aladdin frowned slightly at Tink's speech. When he'd signed up for this he'd been willing to help out the athletic program ( after all he was on the wrestling team ), but now he wasn't sure if it had been the right thing to do. He and Jasmine were going through one of their longer arguments and he didn't want to do anything else to make her angry. The little stunt he'd pulled at the rehearsal had been an attempt to preserve their relationship but he was beginning to think it had backfired. At Phillip's question, he nodded in agreement. "Yeah...what he said." he added in a distant tone.
That_One_Chick - March 18, 2011 10:56 PM (GMT)
"Yep!" Tink noded in response to Phillip's question. "You can decid wherever you want to go for the date, as long as you think your girl will enjoy it. It could be something fancy like having dinner by candlelight, or just simply going to see a movie."
Tink figured Phillip's other question would come up sooner or later so she had ben prepared to answer it. "Well, yes and no... If your partner asks you to kiss her or do, uh, other things and you wouldn't feel comfortable about it then that you can most definately say no to. But if she wants to go shopping for four hours while you carry her purse and shopping bags then that, unfortunately, is something you'll just have to do."
Mike0908 - March 18, 2011 11:23 PM (GMT)
Audrey was one of the first to arrive and sat in the middle.
"At least the teacher's aren't up for auction. I think Mr. Phillip would probably be bid by every girl in the school." thought Audrey.
Pocahontas arrived and spotted them taking a seat in front of Audrey.
Jasmine arrived in the crowd and spotted Audrey. She sat down to her.
"You ready for the show?" asked Jasmine.
"This looks like it could be a lot of fun." said Pocahontas.
"Although this could turn into a catfight." said Audrey.
Jasmine turned as other students began arriving into the room.
"I hope it doesn't come to that." said Jasmine.

[Backstage]
Phillip listened to Tink attentively, though it was only a matter of seconds before his mind was elsewhere... imagining things...
When she finished talking and turned to the others, Phillip discreetly leaned side-ways. "I wonder if the girls can say no to us," he muttered with a smirk.
Nightmare - March 19, 2011 12:39 AM (GMT)
Jack swayed anxiously backstage. Yesterday he had decided to sign up for more activities, and put his name down on everything he could get his hands on. Apparently one of the things he signed was a paper for the "Guy's Auction". Now he was here, stuck in a line of guys he hardly knew, getting ready to be sold to the highest bidder. As always, he smiled akwardly.
nutmeg - March 19, 2011 12:44 AM (GMT)
Aladdin scoffed. "Probably just to you. Sorry, Phillip." he joked lightly with a smirk. He noticed a new kid in the corner he'd seen in Debate Class a few times, but had never gotten a chance to properly introduce himself. He walked over to him and smiled. "Hey there. You new? I'm Aladdin, but my friends call me Al." he greeted him as he sat down.
TrudiRose - March 19, 2011 02:23 AM (GMT)
Gaston was totally psyched for the auction. Imagine: an activity where he was actually SUPPOSED to show off and preen and pose for the girls, who would ogle and cheer and outbid each other for the chance to spend time with him! He was going to have the time of his life tonight! Of course, he assumed Ariel would be the winning bidder, but it was definitely going to be fun strutting his stuff and being the center of attention for an audience of adoring girls!
Airy - March 19, 2011 03:40 AM (GMT)
Rapunzel walked into the huge room, where the auction was being held. She was super excited for today. Why? Oh, she didn't know. She just knew this would be fun. Plus, Jim was sure to be quite the act. She giggled at the thought of her friend dancing to the hilarious number that Ken had put together.
She looked around for a seat. Rapunzel saw Audrey, Pocahontas, and Jasmine in a row and thought she might sit by them. She and Jasmine had really come a long way, they weren't constantly trying to kill each other- well, they never did before anyway- but Rapunzel was glad she wasn't constantly worrying anymore. She thought of Aladdin, knowing that he would be in the pageant. But she had already vowed not to bid on him for simply one reason:
She didn't want to be killed by Jasmine.
Rapunzel walked over to Audrey, sitting next to her.
"Hey everyone!" she exclaimed as she sat down. "Ready for some five star entertainment?" Rapunzel said the last line with a childish giggle.
Mike0908 - March 19, 2011 04:22 AM (GMT)
"Yeah. Although I'm surprised Jim's up there. I didn't think he'd be interested in this kind of thing." said Audrey.
Airy - March 19, 2011 04:24 AM (GMT)
Rapunzel laughed. "He's not!" she admited excitingly. "I signed him up against his will and didn't tell him he was going to be in it until a few days ago."
Mike0908 - March 19, 2011 04:37 AM (GMT)
"And he was okay with this?" asked Audrey.
"And I heard you can't back out once you sign it. You better hope he gets a good date." said Jasmine.
Airy - March 19, 2011 04:42 AM (GMT)
"Psh. Of course he was," Rapunzel lied with a sort of devious smile. "He was quite excited if you ask me."
She technically wasn't lying. Jim had been excited, just not... the happy excited.
Rapunzel gulped at Jasmine's point. What if he got a bad date? What if it was horrible and he never spoke to her again and-
She thought she might hypervenilate.
"Um, I guess we'll just pray for the best," Rapunzel suggested with an unsure shrug.
Nightmare - March 19, 2011 01:08 PM (GMT)
"Yes I am", Jack said as he sat next to Aladdin. "Nice to meet you, Al. It is such a relieve for someone to acually talk to me!! Being new is always a challenge. So, who do you thing is going to buy you?"
nutmeg - March 19, 2011 02:26 PM (GMT)
"Hopefully my girlfriend, Jasmine. If anyone else won she'd probably kill me." Aladdin joked with a laugh, even though he was still slightly fearful of her reaction to that scenario. Maybe she hadn't even showed up, since she was still mad at him, and they hadn't talked in at least a week. "What about you? Lots of pretty girls out there..anyone you have your eye on?"
Meg - March 19, 2011 04:39 PM (GMT)
Meg walked into the room and took a seat in the back. She'd saved up for this. She was seriously looking forward to spending some time with the guy who drove her crazy with his mind games, and hoped to outbid his little girlfriend.
There was a feeling of excitement in the air, and Ariel was a big reason. She liked helping a good cause, but she REALLY loved it when she got something back for it. She was hoping to use Gaston to do romantic things, like buy her a new dress, dress up and take her to a really fancy dinner, go out dancing. She touched her necklace and smiled dreamily, humming as she entered the room and sat in the front row.
That_One_Chick - May 29, 2011 08:54 PM (GMT)
"Alright everyone," Tink looked at the group of men. "We've got just a little more time until the auction starts. I have to go make sure everythings up and running so just sit tight and wait for the cue." Before she turned to leave she stopped herself. "You all remember the cue, right?" Without waiting for an answer she continued. "When you hear me say, 'Gee, I wonder how these boys are ever going to prove they know how to have a good time', that's when you walk out on stage in your assigned order." Tink smiled at them one last time before leaving. "Good luck and have fun everyone!"
After Tink left Naveen turned to everyone. "Just so that nobody feels bad about themselves I will most likely be going for the highest bid. So do not feel bad if you do not get a bid as high as mine," He shrugged. "Not everyone can have a face as gorgeous as mine, yes?"
Nikki - May 29, 2011 09:01 PM (GMT)
Once Tink left the room, Phillip playfully pushed Naveen away (almost causing the man to tumble over!) then turned to the rest of the men. "Remember why we're doing this, men?"
Hercules filled up his chest with air and held up his finger like a politician about to make a speech. "To get a date!" he said in a deep voice.
"No, man!" Phillip shook Hercules by the shoulder. "To raise money for the new sports equipments!"
"Right... right..." Hercules muttered. "Because that totally makes me feel like less of a man whore."
That_One_Chick - May 29, 2011 09:11 PM (GMT)
"Oh, Don't worry Herc," Eric turned to Hercules. "At least you can't be any more of a man whore than Naveen is," He chuckled.
Nikki - May 29, 2011 09:20 PM (GMT)
Hercules adjusted his pants as he spoke to Eric. "Yeah, whatever. You're just happy because you know someone's going to bid on you..."
That_One_Chick - May 29, 2011 09:25 PM (GMT)
"I don't know that for sure," Eric shrugged. "I mean, who would even want to bid on me?" He asked.
Nikki - May 29, 2011 09:32 PM (GMT)
Hercules rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right! The whole world knows Jane likes you. Even I know Jane likes you! And I know I'm part of the world and all, but I'm usually the last one to know about stuff!"
"Ah, yes, the forever stubborn Jane Porter," Phillip remarked as he used his mobile phone to look at his reflection and quickly fix up his hair before going on stage. "When ever are you going to make a move, Eric? I'm longing for the day when I'll no longer have to compete with Jane Porter for Aurora's attention," he joked.
Klaske - May 29, 2011 09:43 PM (GMT)
"Gentlemen!" Ken exclaimed as stormed into the room. "Is everybody ready and dressed?" He took off his sunglasses and put down his coffee. He was wearing a black stylish outfit, with a turtleneck for the cliche picture of a Shakespearan director, complete with a white scarf. The only thing missing was cape and a hat, but he didn't want to over do it.
"Everyone knows when he is supposed to be where and what he is supposed to be doing? In case you don't, I swear I will kill you if you ruin my choreography!"
He stood still in front of the group. "The only way to solve your details of your incompetence is: smile and pose." He paused. "In the back of the group."
Nikki - May 29, 2011 09:46 PM (GMT)
Hercules got really nervous when Ken entered the room. The man was rather intimidating in a very... unique way. "Er, K-Ken?" he stuttered, slowly raising his hand in the air. "You will be dancing with us, right?"
Phillip laughed as he picked up a spare uniform that Tink had left on the table. "Of course he will!" he replied jovially. "Ken would never miss a chance to be on stage!" He tossed the clothes at Ken. "Come on, now. Clothes off!"
Klaske - May 29, 2011 10:13 PM (GMT)
Ken winked at Phillip, "Oh my Phil! You sound so manly! I like it!" He took off the scarf and started to unbutton his pants. "You don't want to put dollar bills in my suspenders, do you?"
Nikki - May 29, 2011 10:23 PM (GMT)
Phillip pretended to shiver. "I think I'll pass. Besides, I need to save up for the ecstatic date I've prepared for the girl who will be crazy enough to bid on me."
As Ken started to get undressed, Hercules instinctively blocked his eyes with his hand. "You prepared a date?" he asked Phillip in shock. "We were supposed to prepare something?"
"But of course! And I tell you now - I've prepared a night that my lady shall never forget!" Phillip looked at Ken. "Now, I know what you're thinking, but I should warn you that I've specifically told Tink that she's not allowed to accept any bids from you." He glanced at Naveen. "Or from that one either," he added under his breath.
Klaske - May 29, 2011 10:30 PM (GMT)
"Oh honey, spare me the thought," Ken sighed. "I don't need to buy a date. I'm not that desperate." He looked through the door opening into the audience. "But there are a lot of desperate girls out there with money burning in their hands." He closed the door and changed into his outfit.
"Lots of desperate ugly girls who never match your outfit."
Nikki - May 29, 2011 10:39 PM (GMT)
Desperate ugly girls, Hercules thought to himself. I bet even THEY wouldn't bid on me!
"Well, you know what they say - you've got to take whatever you can get!" Phillip walked over to the coat hanger and looked for his jacket. Once he found it, he dug his hand into the pocket in search of his gum.
"Well, in your case it's kind of obvious," Hercules stated. "I mean, for sure Aurora will bid on you."
Phillip a gum into his mouth. "Obviously," he said with a grin.
"Why else would you actually prepare a date? I mean, that's just crazy!" Hercules for a moment, his eyes scanning the room. "Right?" Another awkward silence. "None of you actually prepared something, right?"
Klaske - May 29, 2011 10:42 PM (GMT)
"Don't worry, you don't have to," Ken re-assured Herc absent-mindly. He was thinking about what he would do. The girl would probably want his advice on make up, hair and her outfit, so nothing he could handle.
"The girls just want to use you for your their own perverted fantasties, do what she asks and you'll be fine."
Nikki - May 29, 2011 10:48 PM (GMT)
"Perverted fa-fa-fantasies?" Hercules stuttered nervously.
Phillip rolled his eyes. "Pay no attention to that big mouth," he mocked. Turning to Hercules, he continue, "Just be yourself... and remember, if the girl bid on you, that means she wants to be with you. And in my most humble opinion, one should..." He lifted his hand and gave it a swirl in the air with a smirk on his face. "...take advantage of the situation, I'd say." He gave Ken a strong pat on the back. "Right, Ken?"
Klaske - May 29, 2011 10:53 PM (GMT)
"Thanks, Phil, remind me to send you the bill of my chiropractor," Ken said as he rubbed his back. "I do agree with Phil, a girl wants to be taken advantage of when she pays to spend time with you."
He tied his shoelaces and pushed someone (he didn't really notice who, probably an insignificant freshman) away from the mirror. He turned from left to right, trying to find the best side to pose in. He had to remind himself that it was for charity.
"It's not the most elegant outfit, but it'll do."
DisneyPrincess - May 29, 2011 11:54 PM (GMT)
Woody got changed into his outfit, still thinking how he got himself into this. The routine was a bit ludicrous, but he told himself it was for a good cause.
"I've got some date things in mind" he spoke up, with vague thoughts of horseback riding in his head. "I think it will be nice to take a lady out, even if it just a friendy date and nothing romantic. If someone bids on me that is" he shrugged.
TrudiRose - May 30, 2011 01:21 AM (GMT)
"Don't worry, Herc, I didn't 'prepare' a date either," Gaston said to Hercules as he got ready. "After all, the girls are the ones bidding on us, so I figure they already know what they want to do with us." He grinned at his reflection in the mirror and flexed his muscles. "Anyway, just looking at me will give a girl her money's worth!"
caregirl - May 30, 2011 03:50 AM (GMT)
"Console yourself with that thought, Avenant," Alexander sneered at his fellow freshman, arriving finally and getting ready. Normally he wouldn't take part in something like this, but the allure of having juniors and seniors bidding for him was too tempting. "The only girl who'll probably be bidding on you is your little girlfriend. Now take me for example. I know I'll be one of the highlights of this auction, earning the most for the school because I know there are plenty of women at this school who want to bid on me. Just look at me. I mean, who wouldn't want to go on date with one of the most eligible bachelors of France...no, Europe...no, really the world.'
TrudiRose - May 30, 2011 03:44 PM (GMT)
Gaston rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. What girl wouldn't want to go out with a guy who spends the whole date saying how bored he is and how he's so much better than her and all the rest of the 'peasants' here? That's a real turn-on for sure!" He smirked. "I'm surprised you're even here, Alexander! I figured you'd be too 'dignified' to dance around with the rest of us."
A thought struck him and he grinned. "Hey, maybe someone'll videotape us dancing and it'll end up on YouTube, like everything else around here!"
caregirl - May 30, 2011 05:03 PM (GMT)
"Didn't you learn your lesson from the last time something got put on YouTube? Apparently not," Alexander scoffed, before returning to the original conversation. "For your information, I'm only here for the auction. I'm passing on the dancing except for the very end when we take off the jerseys because there are women here, especially the upperclass ones, who will be bidding on me. I'm French and know how to show a woman a good time and there are women who appreciate that. After we French are the best when it comes to the art of romance."
