Title: So, um...
Description: Hi all!
Sionyx - July 2, 2007 01:59 AM (GMT)
I decided to stop fuming about the dialup I'm stuck on now (make it stop randomly disconnecting on me!) and get back to one of the forums I like hanging around at. So I'll probably end up sliding right back into lurking.
And no, this decision has nothing to do with the movie coming out...though the timing is what finally got me off my duff and posting again.

Howdy Sionyx, welcome back!

Bah, if I can play City of Heroes and World of Warcraft on a dialup connection that randomly disconnects me you can at least post!
Welcome back, good to see you again Si.

Hi, Si!!! Remember me? Huh? The big (but not
that big) goofy guy from Chicago? Huh? Remember me?
Well if not, anyway HI!!!
Sionyx - July 11, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
'Course I remember you! And I'm glad that you all remember me, too!

I can't imagine playing FFXI on dialup. The lag is bad enough as it is.
Welcome back, Sionyx. :)

Whoah, MMO on dialup? Dang, you've got some patient friends.
I'd get beaten with sticks at work the next day if I tried to play WoW. They'd be like "Hey, thanks for dropping out at that tough part, buddy! We didn't need you in our party anyway! Of course I wanted to wait until next weekend to get my Epic Mount ya jerk!"

Actually, I don't have that much of a problem. Yeah... I get disconnected frequently, but most of the time the pick up groups I'm running with don't mind it so much. Besides, I'm always back again in a minute or two and we never lose that much momentum. At most they take a rest break while I reconnect.
Besides, on the whole I don't have that much trouble. Some nights it's disconnect after disconnect, most often it's smooth sailing with no disconnects and no real lag. It takes me awhile to zone(a real problem with CoH/V which is Instance heavy), but that's about it.
Besides, I spend most of my time in the lower levels trying out every different build possible. That means I can solo just about anytime, and I know how almost everything in the game works.
And as for the epic mount... those take months to get, a another weekend isn't going to kill anyone.
