down in the DUNGEONS
deep below the great hall and the majestic first floor are the dungeons of hogwarts. bathed in darkness and shadows, evil breeds in more ways than one in the depths.

the CELLAR
apart from the dungeons but still under the school proper is the cellar, home to hufflepuff house and the infamous kitchens, along with its house elf workers.

the ground FLOOR
the main entrance to the hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry is on this floor, along with the great hall, offices, and the beginnings of many stairwells leading to and from.

the first FLOOR
just above the madness that is the ground floor at dinner time is the quieter first floor, home to many offices and classrooms, as well as the school's infirmary.

the second FLOOR
the library, infirmary, and more classrooms are located here. the torch lit halls can be very deceiving at night, and even the most skilled prefect or patrolling professor cannot catch everything that comes through here at night.

the third FLOOR
the third floor is quite the busy floor, with the trophy room taking up a large part along with the defense against the dark arts classroom, charms classroom, and the dark and disturbing corridor that is kept strictly out of bounds.

the fourth FLOOR
a rather sparse hall without many rooms besides the vast library and the numerology classroom right next to the stairwell, the small professor's office in the room next door.

with the only main attraction being the prefects's bathroom, which people other than prefects know nothing about, this floor is seldom visited.

a mostly unused floor, there are a few empty classrooms here as well as a seldom used pair of washrooms at the end of the corridor.

the seventh FLOOR
compared to a few of the floors directly below it, the seventh floor is mysteriously very busy, with the entrances to the divination classroom, gryffindor house, ravenclaw house, headmaster's office, and astronomy tower all in one place, along with the secretive room of requirement.

the TOWERS
one of the most recognizable features of hogwarts are its majestic towers. home to two houses, the divination and astronomy towers, as well as the headmaster's office, the towers are bustling places, and shadowy havens for those who wish not to be found.

the GARDENS
from vegetable patches to the beautifully landscaped herbology greenhouses, the garden area is filled with plants of all shapes, sizes, and origins.

the quidditch PITCH
once the quidditch seasons starts it is every house for itself. friendships are broken on this field during the weekly quidditch matches that put house versus house. plenty of bones are also broken here, too.

the lake is one of the many things that makes hogwarts so special. its beauty is unsurpassed, and the contents within make it very interesting - from merpeople to a giant squid. on their time off during the warm weather many student can be found lounging on the banks.
