This is strange, probably just a misprint since there is no info on the game here.

Unless there is some Daytona game by RT I've never heard of.

I also noticed that Guitar Hero is on their site, although it's not selectable at the top.

thoughts?

That's odd. It must be a misprint.

No mistake guy!

This is a cover name (working title) for a new driver the company has been working on for some time.

They look on it as a Daytona USA beater!

We have been waiting for this for some time, but like Street Fighter IV Turbo, much rumored but never appearing... until now!

Well that's strange since they don't put any other game up on the website before it's officially announced but they will put this one. Maybe they are holding back in case Sega announces Daytona 3?

BTW I did take a screenshot of it in case it comes down now. :)

Yeah it looks like there is nothing there now. Do you have a screenshot? Its funny how they are making a Daytona USA killer which came out in 1994. Raw Thrills and Eugene Jarvis' racers have always been fun but really lacking in the AI department always featuring the "catch-up" gameplay. Hopefully they will bring a more challenging technical racer to the scene.

No, that is the same page I saw. I'm not sure if they ever actually put anything there and it's all a placeholder for the eventual game.

Still, it's unusual for RT to do this, especially where they still don't have games they have released on their site yet.

Seems a rumor had done the rounds that RT has given up on their original driving game idea with the Daytona license. To counter this RT put up the place holder to confirm they still planned to release the game.

It is suggested that the rumor was stated by those linked to Sega to try and address the problem they have selling their new game as the 'true' Daytona.

This is pure whispers and gossip as obviously no one is talking on the record, but would seem to explain why RT broke tradition and set up a place holder page?

That seems like a reasonable conclusion.

What I have to wonder now is what is RT going to do. With Sega finally unveiling their follow-up to Daytona it leaves the ball in RT's court. Would they jump on this so soon after SRC, especially where it seems that the game isn't a complete remake? Depending on what they have ready in regards to this Daytona game, is there a chance they could drop their game and steal some of Sega's thunder here?
