Where do you suggest I look to find good hiking trails around my area? High Falls sounds great, but a little too far away biggrin.gif

What part of the country do you live? I mostly know of trails here in the southeast and in the Smokies.

I don't know about that area at all, but you might do a search for Kansas hiking trails and come up with some good places.

Myself, I love to hike in the Smokies, very scenic up there.

We have the Kal-Haven trail that runs from Kalamazoo all the way to South Haven. It's about a 35 mile trail open all year. Suppose to have a couple covered bridges along the trail too. The only motorized vehicular traffic is during the winter months when snowmobiles can use the trail. It is a state park, so one must have a pass to use the trail.

One can get a day pass, month pass or season pass - the last I check. I have yet to ride my bike on it.

Don't know if there are requirements to use a bicycle helmet or not. I won't wear one cause I never had any accidents with my bicycle.

Hi there, mugrb biggrin.gif The State Park Stickers (Permits) will be done away with this year.. All you have to do is pay an extra $10.00 when you renew your license plate on your truck, and you can get into any State Park in Michigan.. No more daily, or monthly stickers, if you plan to go, just drive your truck, and put your bike in the bed of the truck.. Another move by our Guvner to raise more $$$. hammer.gif

I am going to opt out of that one, have already been to them, and this summer is already booked solid... dancing.gif

Yup, really.... When you get your renewal for your License Plate, you get to pay an extra $10.00, and that will get you into any State Park in Michigan... I am going to opt-out of that one, because I will not be going to any this year or next... Kinda did enough of that years ago...... Also, have too many irons in the fire to do any State Parks this summer, with gas skyrocketing like it is... Hope you have fun if you go tho.... rolleyes.gif
