Woke up to snow on Pikes Peak this morning. cold.gif

I hope Gary is enjoying himself in the high country hunting. He needs a break.

I just hope he sees old man winter and takes him out with extreme prejudice before the old man decides to stay awhile.

No global warming here just the normal changing of the seasons.

Yessir, here in VA its a strange time of year. One day the temps will be in the hi-80s (which is right comfy for this time normally) ... the next two or three days the temps will be in the mid - low 60s ... then repeat itself. Very strange indeed this year.

Well it officially started.

Mr. Global Climate Change brought the seasons first snowfall to us here in the land of frozen cheezeheads.

As I'm looking outside, today on 10OCT2009 at about noon - there are familiar white flakes falling from the sky.

I wonder if Mr. Global Warming would consider this to be "the sky falling"?

Chicken Little comes in all kinds of strange feathers.

And right now, I'd like to join TD with coating this spreader of the world's greatest farce, and seller of one of the stupidest bills this country ever sold itself to, with a nice thick coat of tar and chicken feathers......he may need them to keep himself warm in this Frozen Tundra.

QUOTE
  By Paul Hudson
Climate correspondent, BBC News

Planet Earth (Nasa)
Average temperatures have not increased for over a decade

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though man-made carbon dioxide, the gas thought to be responsible for warming our planet, has continued to rise.

So what on Earth is going on?

Climate change sceptics, who passionately and consistently argue that man's influence on our climate is overstated, say they saw it coming.

They argue that there are natural cycles, over which we have no control, that dictate how warm the planet is. But what is the evidence for this?

During the last few decades of the 20th Century, our planet did warm quickly.

Sceptics argue that the warming we observed was down to the energy from the Sun increasing. After all 98% of the Earth's warmth comes from the Sun.

This is sure one time of year I don't look forward to. With the exception of Deer season, I hate winter with a passion and from the looks of it, it is going to settle in early here in Oklahoma. Woke up to 37 degrees this morning. We went straight from Air Conditioning to the Heater. I guess global warming is skipping us , here on the Plains. I think this winter is going to set some records.

"His optimism isn't shared by a lot of other folks," said Tim Wheeler, an environmental reporter for the Baltimore Sun. Gore may have been trying to push politicians to action, Wheeler added.

Conservative groups led by Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow and Americans for Prosperity held a demonstration Downtown that drew about 200 people, including U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, who also participated in the conference's panel discussion following Gore's speech. The demonstrators worried Gore's policies would push American jobs overseas.

Gore has been criticized for not publicly debating his position since the release of his 2006 Oscar-winning documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth."

In what organizers said was a rarity, Gore took half a dozen questions from journalists, including one from Phelim McAleer, an Irish filmmaker who asked Gore to address nine errors in his film identified by a British court in 2007.

Gore responded that the court ruling supported the showing of his film in British schools. When McAleer tried to debate further, his microphone was cut off by the moderators.

I have some real left wing greenies in my class this semester. They cannot stand it when I point out the hypocrisies of their side and use economic facts to do it. wink.gif Most are not just greenies, but Obamanites to boot.

When it came out that a company in which AL Gore is a big partner was getting roughly a $500 million loan to build a green car that will cost on average $89K and it would be built in Europe they did not like it. My conservative students were outraged and the Obamnites were defiantly uncomfortable. They really didn't like it when I punctuated my point by telling them that I am sure many of the Saturn workers would love to build the car here in the US since Obama Motors was going to now fire them. unsure.gif

I then asked them who was going to repay the loan if the company went bust? With heads hung low they responded "We will." sad.gif

When faced with the reality of their choice many are finding out that Reality Bites. wacko.gif

Fianlly, one of students cannot handle it when I mock them by referring to the changing terminology from Global Warming to Climate Change. He really does like it hen I come into class and it is COLD outside and ask them how they like the global warming outside and then correct myself by stating "Oh I'm sorry that's climate change." rolleyes.gif

The global warming temp right now is 23 degrees. cold.gif

CW. Thank you. My wife is doing as well as can be expected.

Last fall I was having a debate with one of the liberals who teach there. She said something about the economy and I told her that if she wanted me to I could educate her. tongue.gif

Her response was was "I am educated."

She hasn't spoken to me since. The silence is wonderful rolleyes.gif

To let you know how confident I am of Global Warming, I am now on an active search for snow chains for my lil Dakota truck. My Grandpa always taught us to watch the animals to tell how hard the winter was going to be. So far I have seen a lot of fat little squirrels , the geese and ducks are already making a B-line south and the deer are gorging themselves. I will take their prediction over Al Gore any day.

We got some snow last night and it's still coming down. It stuck to the grass and trees, but the roads were clear this morning. GB, you're right! The small animals act almost frantic this year - although last year was a whole lot worse by this time in November. Like us, they 'live and learn' and don't listen to Al Gore!
