I thought that we needed a prayer place to ask for prayers, so added this topic area for doing just that.

I would like to ask for prayer for my Mother who is terminally ill with cancer. She was in the hospital for 2 months and has been at the nursing home now for 20 days. I have spend everyday except 3 days with her during all that time. I have spent many hours praying for her and others have also. God has given me the grace to understand that time is not forever here in this world, so I accept the fact that she will not be with us much longer. I ask for prayers that she not suffer and that my family members be in peace as I am after I prayed and God seemed to place that on my heart one day. I also ask for prayers for myself for guidance and understanding.

Thanks!

We lost a prayer warrior this week at my church. He fought one of the toughest fights against cancer for the last several years that I have ever witnessed. During that time he never complained, and always had a smile and an uplifting word for anyone he met. His family, and especially his 4 grandsons, stand as testimony to the way this man lived his life for the Lord. We had a memorial service for him at church this morning that was truly inspiring. Please remember his family in the coming days.

I have been praying and will continue to pray and know this;

I will never put any limitations on the expectations of God to move on people's behalf.

I thank you Jesus and bless and praise you Holy Father our God, Amen.

Sue,

Let me know of your impression when you get to the 150 milemarker on I-95 in VA and see the new Marine Corps Museum rise up over the interstate ... Safe trip and traveling mercies coming on your behalf.

Actually I'll be taking 81 north to Binghamton, NY. I live in Western NC and it is quicker to pop over to Bristol and hit 81.

I was hoping to get an early start and leave around 10:00. I have a school program to do in the morning for our 8th grade class about Healthy Relationships. Got word from one of the girls that works for me (and one of my best friends) that she has to see the doctor tomorrow afternoon in Winston Salem. She is having lots of knee problems and is probably facing knee surgery (add to prayers requests! This is the mother of the young lady with breast cancer). So I won't be able to leave till after work, around 5:00! Going to be a long night! Bring on the coffee fer shur! coffee-cup-steaming.gif

When I leave Saturday, if I'm not too tired, I might just take a jaunt over to 95 and check out that new museum! smiley-usa-flag-raise.gif

Sue,

If you're driving 81 at night then special travelling mercies for you and yours. Watch out for the big trucks, as you know, they get a little crazy on I-81

Them crazy truck drivers are one of the reasons I asked for prayer! ohmy.gif

Seriously, if I can find a truck from NC or TN with a driver not of the hispanic persuasion, I will usually just pull in behind them and roll on up the road! biggrin.gif

hahahaha yes'm that works sometimes. I heard a while back that they were going to build a parallel road to I-81 that would be for trucks only. It supposedly was going to go the entire length of 81. Not sure what the status of that road is now but it would be a good thing for everyone.

Okeedokee, I sure don't want to hijack a prayer thread so I'm outa here ... have a safe trip and enjoy your visit.

As always...continue to pray for our military in harm's way. I pray that the Lord may place his hand upon them and protect them.

May He help the people of the lands our military in, begin to see how to act the way our Lord Jesus Christ asked of all of us - "love thy neighbor, as thyself", and to bring some reconcilliation between the peoples of those regions to live in peace.

The soon they find a way to live in peace, the sooner our soldiers can come home.

I pray that our new government does not let the guard protecting the people within its borders, down. That He may protect all within her borders from harm.

God Bless our Troops

God Bless America

James It sounds like you are resting in God's grace about your mom, so I pray the Lord strengthens and uses you to comfort your family members.
Also comfort and trust for the family at Sue's church for their loss
Marnie you and Rick are in my prayers also.
Glad for the meeting Sue had on the way with bsb. There was much happiness there.
Always prayers for the military's safety, our leaders for wisdom, and America.

Thanks to all for your prayers while I was traveling! The trip up was driving in rain and fog almost all the way, but God protected me on the road. Coming back home was beautiful weather! And an added bonus was stopping in Pennsylvania and meeting bsb! That was a real treat! Bsb, you are a great person, and I was so happy to meet you in person!

Oh yeah, Jim, I didn't see any evidence of any highway going along side I-81 for truckers. Maybe it is still in the talking stages!

Sue,

I think you may be right. I googled the project and they were talking about completion by 2018 ... shucks I may not live to see that improvement hammer.gif

From what I could garner by skipping over several articles, they are still not sure if it will be toll road or what. Virginia is thinking about going 8 lanes with the 2 inside lanes in each direction being trucks only.

The original article I read earlier in the summer was more positive and stated a parallel highway for trucks only. Time will tell ... but I do know that until that project is completed, it will be one heck of a mess

I had to take my husband to the emergency room again tonight. He has high blood pressure and suffers from headaches. He has been under a tremendous amount of stress. My biggest fear is him having a stroke one day and I don't want that to ever happen. My husband is my world and I don't ever want anything to ever happen to him. I want you all to know that I pray for everyone here also. We have been getting snow for 2 days and driving at night in the snow is not fun . I prayed that God would get me back home safe and he did. I know God answers our prayers. Thank you all very much .

I'm sitting here at my desk pretty much in shock!!! On Friday the 24th, a state trooper was hit and killed on a traffic stop. We always stop and say a prayer for any police officer killed regardless of where they serve. As I looked at the email reference the arrangements I looked at the name and realized that this man was a friend of mine. We had gone on police calls together, shared meals together, we went to each others house when we each had our first child come home from the hospital.......I couldn't believe my eyes. Just that quickly he is gone!!! We never know how much or little time we have before God calls us home. His name is Robert A. Hill and I would really appreciate prayer for his wife and kids and for all of us that knew him, the funeral is tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1:00pm.

Thanks,

Paul

Gosh, Paul, I real sad to hear that. I will definitely keep the family in my prayers. My youngest son is a police officer, and I always pray for his safety, as well as that of other officers. Theirs is a dangerous job, and sometimes the danger comes from unexpected quarters!

Marnie, you and Rick are in my prayers!

I also ask that you add a friend of mine to your prayers. She is having a tough time with some family issues, and she is stuck in the middle between the two sides. It is tearing her apart, physcially and spiritually. She told me this morning that when she tries to pray, all she can do is sit and cry out to God. Please pray that these issues will be resolved, or that God can give her the peace that is escaping her at this time!

You're right, none of us knows how much time we have.

My condolences,

I just received a call from my younger sister Kay at her local hospital. Her husband David, of 47 years has had a heart-attack or stroke, the doctors don't know which as of her call. Please remember him and the family in your prayers.

Thank you and God Bless each of you.

This may not seem like much of a concern when others have so many things that are far more crucial but,

My Mom was very ill back in October (she's great now; 87 and still going strong). Because of this, for a period of about 3 weeks or more, I had to miss college classes, many of which are very heavy in load, like Hebrew and General Epistles and Revelation documents. I fell behind badly during that time, unable to attend class and unable to do assignments. Now, the end of the semester is just a week away and I still have much to do. If you'd just pray that I prioritize wisely and that God will give me the energy (both mentally and physically) to work beyond what I normally can, I'd appreciate it.

At 52, I don't have the stamina to do the things I once did (staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning and still be up early and out the next day). Right now, I have 5 projects due by next Tuesday, two of which require some heavy research. On top of this, I have my church to care for and a family as well.

I know it's not life-shattering, but I do need God's help. Plus, the marks I get determine how much I will receive in grants and scholarships to pay for school next semester.

Thanks.

In Christ,

Dan

Wanda, your brother-in-law and sister are in my prayers. I pray that God would give the doctors wisdom in treating him and that he recover quickly, also that God would send His ministering angels to watch over him and his family and comfort them.

Kenny, Naturelover, your unspoken requests are in my prayers also.

Dan, I pray that God would give you the stamina and clarity of thought that you need at this time so you can achieve the plans that you have to do His service.

I have some unspoken requests also.

God bless you all,

Dan, what you are doing is very commendable. I have to agree that as we age things do become more difficult. It is hard to admit that we can't do things in the same manner as before. Our Father understands this. And I believe that when we are doing something that brings honor to Him, that He will bless it. I pray right now that in the coming days That God will cover you with that extra measure of strength, wisdom, and clarity of mind to accomplish that which is before you. In the name of Jesus, Amen...

Please pray for James (Almtnman)in this hour of grief. I am not so good at that, but I know that a lot of you are. The grief is something he can't escape, nor should he. Pray for Gods strength to comfort he and his brother as they do all of the things that must be done in a time of death. it is a hard road he must travel now and he shouldn't travel it alone. Gods blessings and strength are much needed in his house now.

Hey Gang,
I have a request for prayer for my son. He's 21 years old, and going through a very confusing time right now. He wants very badly to meet that one, special gal to spend his life with. At the same time, he's got a thing about commitment. He has gone through the "sewing of wild oats" that resulted in an adorable little girl. He loves her deeply, but states on occasion that he's not ready for this. I tell him no one is with their first child. But it is his fear of commitment that is talking. He's dated 35 gals in the last 2 1/2 years. They were all libs, except for a couple. One that broke his heart, and one he didn't think he deserved. Please pray for his heart to heal, for his spirit to trust more on God, and for his self confidence to improve just a mite. Maybe even for that special gal to come along to help him through life's burdens.
Thanks,
Granny
