I obtained a .454 Casull barrel for my Encore. I don't ( as of yet) have any .454 ammo, so I took it to the range and shot up some of my heavy .45 Colt loads. At 25 yards, without touching the iron sights, it was shooting waaaay high, but the lateral was perfect. I set up a 9 bull dirty bird target, aimed for the bottom of the bottom bull and was punching out the center of the top bull. Groups were fantastic, just about 8 inches above POA. :banana-man: My Birthday present from my wife is a set of dies, a bullet mold and a box of gas checks, and I traded some .480 brass with my youngest son for some Starline .454 brass, so I should be all set after Midway ships! Another Gentleman in Alaska is sending a small number of cast bullets that he casts for me to try.
I love handguns, especially those that start with a .4 something......
