Reminds me of an incident involving Mississippi native Chris Jackson (Mahmoud Abdul Raolf, his muslim name) when he played for the Denver Nuggets. He refused to recognize the National Anthem during a game. He was scolded by Hakeem Olajuwon who told him: "Even though you converted to the Muslim faith you must still honor your country. Never forget where you came from."
