Description: Coming in 2008...
Hurri - August 12, 2007 12:20 PM (GMT)
Click hereThis is a big development.
The ride will consist of two steel towers, one of which is well over 200ft. I'm not sure how much I can say about it but it looks very very interesting.
It will be a world's first.

oh ive heard about this, steve from security told me about it. if it is what ive been told it will be, sounds like fun!
Hazzer - August 13, 2007 04:46 PM (GMT)
From what i herd from Danny (hurri) today at AI when i went to get my hoodie, i would like it to be a drop tower, but from what i herd today it will sound like a load of sh*t !
adamdowds - August 14, 2007 08:17 AM (GMT)
I wonder if it'll replace a ride that's being knocked down or moved. Closing season is only a few months away!

Echo news storyProject Aeronaut is confirmed and the concept art has been released! It will be built by Fervec and the park's own workshop team. No rides are going to be removed. It should be open for February half term..
Fervec have a site about it
here. Worth a look.
AIG will keep you updated.

Hmm, anyone else thinking that Aeronaut basically is being built purely as part of Southend Radio? Let's take a look at the facts...
1. Southend Radio is situated very low down like the rest of Adventure Island, so the transmitter/aerial is going to need to be at least 100ft+ to broadcast across and over into Southend.
2. Aeronaut will stretch at over 200ft+ over the Palace and the high street.
Now, can anyone else feel that Aeronaut might just be a huge aerial/transmitter for Southend Radio?
Anyways, I've not actually posted my feelings on Aeronaut so far, so here they are. Personally, I think it will be a great way of pulling more attention to the park and pull in even more guests or at least keep attendance up, in that respect it'll do wonders. But as an actual ride, I feel it will be a ride that families are too scared to go on because it will be very intimidating and it will be a ride thrill seekers will go on but will want more out of it, so it'll scare families and not deliver to thrill seekers if you ask me. Hopefully I'm wrong.
Hopefully they give it a bit of a theme, loads of wacky flying machines all around the station like it's some sort of invention by a scientist, not in depth but just a few large items to give the ride a bit more eye appeal and depth. Would be great to have an on board soundtrack also, have a very ambient and relaxing soundtrack in the background that goes with the ride, so when going up the tower it's very climatic and builds up then when your released it changes into this magical and relaxing song to give the sensation of true flight, music enhances a ride drastically, so Aeronaut as an experience and ride could be drastically improved purely by an on board sound system with a good soundtrack.
It has a lot of potential, I just hope Adventure Island grab the potential and really go all out with this and not make it another one of their "what if" rides.
Also, when it comes to laying down the footers and what not, surely there going to have to shut off a fair bit of little end? Construction for this will certainly be very interesting.
Hurri - November 1, 2007 04:48 PM (GMT)
I reckon you're on to something there.
sam! - November 1, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)

mikey771 - December 2, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)

Hurri - December 3, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
It's going on the West side, one tower will be by the Choo Choo Train, the other in the middle of the Go Karts.

Hurri - December 18, 2007 03:02 PM (GMT)
Just to update, all the promotional material for Aero has disappeared from the park. Hopefully the ride will appear later in 2008.

JAMES! - March 10, 2008 02:55 PM (GMT)
So will the Aeronaut be built in September?
GeorgeBC - May 22, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
It appears Aeronaut has some competition in the format of a new flat ride from Gerstlauer.
I give you the Sky Roller!
Sky Roller from Gerstlauer (Click on their main news item for all the information on Sky Roller)
Hurri - May 22, 2008 10:20 PM (GMT)
It's funny how Gerstlauer, Mondial and many others are now coming out with 'control your own seat' ideas, and they all look better than Aeronaut so far.
I really hope that if this does happen that it will work out to be an exceptionally good ride, because if it doesn't and these others get built, AI wil be put to shame.
Come on Fervec, give us something amazing.
rock - June 8, 2008 09:20 PM (GMT)
Aeronaut looks ugly compared to the Gerstlauer one like hurri said i hope aero fills much better and is better overall! :(
JAMES! - June 16, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
I don't know if this will interest anyone, but I sent FERVEC an email asking for any more information on the Aeronaut and they replied:
The AERONAUT ride programm is currently undergoing a lenghty manufacturing/testing phase.
The emphasis of this development lies in setting new standarts in terms of safety and reliability.
We will let you know as soon as a release date is available and where the products are sold.

i hope is dose i look very good an could put us on the map ever more :D
TurtleTom - October 5, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
What does everyone think about this? Will the Aeronaut be built or not?
Hurri - October 5, 2008 10:42 PM (GMT)
The park management assure me it will be ready for the 09 season.
As for the Sky Flyer/Roller, apparently it doesn't give a very good ride. The difference between the Sky Flyer and Aeronaut is, the Sky Flyer exists for people to make that decision whereas with Aeronaut, as always, it remains to be seen...
TurtleTom - October 6, 2008 11:25 AM (GMT)
So it is going to be built then. Thats good news. Any idea when construction would start taking place?
Leemo - October 6, 2008 04:59 PM (GMT)
I herd that the aeronaut is going to be started durin the closed seasons ready for easter or febuary B)
ROBERT KURN - November 6, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)

jordan - November 10, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)

Leemo - November 10, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Yes and i think another one over by the goldmine i'm not quite sure.
ROBERT KURN - November 10, 2008 10:53 PM (GMT)

jordan - November 11, 2008 09:05 PM (GMT)

Not really, it's just a flying ride, so it would only really need a few thin tracks and some large supports, at least that's what I think about it anyway.
