What a Soaker!

Click mei think thats your answer ...., it never seemed to get me wet, oh well its gone now and something better is in its place :P and hopefully we will see another water ride in the future with no loads of walking up stairs
drumboyjay - June 3, 2007 05:22 PM (GMT)
It was in my opinion one of the best themed log flumes in uk amusement parks. Never got wet either, well only if if u sit at the back and as u go up the lifts all the water goes into your shoes lol.
Hazzer - June 3, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
getting nice wet feet :D:P, hehe, that was like the only bit of the body that got wet
Hurri - June 3, 2007 06:40 PM (GMT)
Last day on Raging River was great... I'm sure it was the only log flume in the world that you could stay on for an hour and come off dry...
GeorgeBC - June 3, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
It was rubbish to be honest, you did not get wet, it was just dull...
I was glad to see it go, especially considering what replaced it. But I do feel that Adventure Island do need a decent water ride, but it will not happen for some time to come as most water rides simply take up way too much space, which Adventure Island does not have a lot of.
drumboyjay - June 3, 2007 07:18 PM (GMT)
I dont think u need to get wet on it to make it a decent water ride, look at valhalla, its amazing but people complain it is too wet. i think it was the exciment of dropping and doing a little speed while only being held in by gravity and inbetween the drops, quite a relaxing ride.
Hysterix - June 3, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
Agreed. Went on Valhalla once and swore I'd never go on again! Drenched does not begin to cover it!
GeorgeBC - June 4, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
I'm not saying it's nice to get totally drenched, but what is the purpose of a water ride which does not involve getting a single drop of water on you...
Yes, I do not think it's nice to get soaked but getting some what wet really adds to the excitement of a water ride, everyone loves to try and dodge getting wet and when you do get wet it's a great laugh.
But there was no fun in the Raging River, as there was no water to dodge, the main drop was tiny and nothing was really exciting, it was a good kiddie flume, but it was dated and poor and it's replacement has done wonders for the park.
So I was glad to see it go...
drumboyjay - June 4, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
Lets be fair ther was a slight water dodge man. u never came off absolutly dry, i do remember gettin wetter in the "splash zone" tho lol, Your right it got replaced by a totally better ride for us and the park, in a perfect world i'd have both lol.

Has anyone got any usefull pictures of the Raging River, im planning to build a model of it in memory and it would make my model much more realistic if i could have a arial shot or somthing to get a real feel for the layout.
Thanks
Hysterix - June 9, 2007 11:04 PM (GMT)
I think it's still on one of the Google Earth-type things but can't remember which. Am sure Hurri will know if such a thing exists.
Hurri - June 10, 2007 08:33 AM (GMT)
It is visible on Google Earth...
And there's a lot of pictures
here too.
Hazzer - June 10, 2007 12:31 PM (GMT)

Thats a pic off Google Earth.....
drumboyjay - June 11, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
kool yer i tried google earth but couldnt remeber the layout in the warehouse bit, cheers for the pics. now i remeber it being straight lol. i will start building wen i can, il post some pics up of my process.
Sebastian - June 12, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
Was the name 'Rage' Linked to 'Raging River'? Just a thought.
Hurri - June 12, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
It did cross my mind when the name was announced. I think it's pretty cool if it is a nod to the past, otherwise it's just a great coincidence...
drumboyjay - June 12, 2007 10:05 PM (GMT)
It Would have been easier to tell if Raging River had a more original name, would be kool if it was tho.

I know some of this has been already mentioned but here it is
Raging River closed on 10th September 2006 to make way for Rage. It was taken to Norway where the parts are being used for another log flume.
Hurri - May 15, 2008 04:24 PM (GMT)
Indeed. Common knowledge since the ride closed, clearly visible on the Raging River's AIG page (linked to in the second post of this topic), which I would have pointed you to on that email but I thought it easier just to say it straight off..
rock - May 17, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
Dam it i thought i found the norway bit out myself oh well LOL  :(
Ben mower - June 2, 2008 06:42 AM (GMT)
why did they put rage where raining river was they code of put it where an old ride was.
Hysterix - June 2, 2008 07:20 AM (GMT)
If you mean they COULD have put it where an old ride was, they did! The old ride was called Raging River. You may have heard of it, it was a log flume.

Raging River was an old ride...
It went there purely because the site was one of the parks largest areas to develop and Raging River was incredibly unreliable.
Why remove a ride that actually works when there is a ride that is constantly breaking down?
Ben mower - June 2, 2008 08:33 AM (GMT)
i mearn they coauld of put it where an roller coaster is
rock - June 2, 2008 04:11 PM (GMT)
