Hi Tony ,
Many members live in the Manchester area, hold on to your hat, I'm sure someone will be along shortly.

Members are from the entire nation, and some from outside the UK but mainly we are all in the UK. We all have been through what you describe, we've never lost a member yet -- -- -- lol biggrin.gif

You are in extremely good hands with Mr Shackleford, he's one of the finest surgeons in the country and has a sense of humour which takes the pressure off you.
Good luck,
Alastair biggrin.gif

QUOTE (straker @ Oct 10 2009, 11:25 AM)
your all extramley brave .some of you have had 3 or more ADR and talk about it as if it was getting a tooth filled .i have nothing but admiration for you all .i am scared stiff as i may have to have ADR myself as my back is worn out and i have already had 2 major back surgeries .the last one has left me incapacitated .what i would like to know is ..befor your surgery could you only sleep for an hour or so befor pain woke you/also did you loose sexual function and were you in constant pain all the time .i was a fit man and now my life consisted of pain killers and recliner .i fell sad super scared and worried sick .i have read so many bad things about ADR and i belong to another site {spine health} and i have has so mane people tel me to steer clear of ADR as they are still experimental and you only here of the good out comes .also i have read that there is premature failure of the device as the polyprolaline bush wears out causing pain and even worse life threatening surgery ..i am due a new MRI scan soon then a consultation with gnanalingham nut after that i want to see Mr shackleford for a second opinion .even is ADR is indicated i don't know whether i have it in me to go through the operation as i feel that something terrible will happen to me either on the table of a few months later .i am really scared and i would like to meet some one that has gone through the procedure .i am in Manchester and from what i can gather most of you live within a 50 mile radius ,my wife and i would be willing to travel to any location to meet with some one to talk to a real human that has been through the procedure ,contact me for my phone number ,tony.beer 1@goodlemail.com
