Rosie knew she shouldn't laugh at that, but she couldn't help it and bust out a wicked smile and laugh. "That's terrible." Rosie said, still grinning and pulling open the back door to the candy store. "We have to stick by our own kind, Emmy. That clothing just fell into her bag," Rosie said feigning shifty eyes before laughing again.

Heading back into the store, Rosie handed the bottle back over the counter. "I needed that," Rosie said, looking over to Emmy. "Definitely needed that." Rosie said again with a great sigh. It wasn't a tired sigh, more like one of relief and an easy smile came back to Rosie's face. "I think I need to carry around a bag of balloons and a water bottle at all times." Rosie added with a laugh.

"Have any other mayhem planned for the day or are you set for the rest of the month?" Rosie joked.

"We have to stick by our own kind, Emmy. That clothing just fell into her bag."

Emmy laughed out loud, covering her mouth. "Wow, I wish. I practically worshipped Winona Ryder after she did Little Women. And then she had to go and ruin it..." It had been almost heartbreaking for Emmy as a young teenager to find out that her idol had stolen something for no good reason. Talk about depressing.

"I think I need to carry around a bag of balloons and a water bottle at all times."

Emmy reclaimed the apple she had set down upon exiting the store, but noticed that it was browning, so she threw it away. "That was the most refreshing thing I've done in ages. Though I'm curious to see as to whether it attracts more paparazzi, or keeps them away for awhile." She mused for a second, then shrugged, "Or just encourages them to protect their cameras when they're around us." Either way worked for her.

"Have any other mayhem planned for the day or are you set for the rest of the month?"

Emmy thought about it for a moment. "Unfortunately, I'm not so great at thinking up things like that. But you and I should definitely get together and do this often. We'd be like...the Bonnie and Clyde of Hollywood, only a lot more attractive."

"And then she had to go and ruin it..."

"I think my hero-worship started when she did Girl Interrupted. She's sweet though, I ran into her a few times and, you know, we all get lapses in judgment," Rosie said, unable to not smirk. Rosie was lucky that the parts she had gotten in movies let her act out like she did. With roles like hers, she didn't ever feel bored or restless enough to stir up her own trouble. A few years ago, a movie she was in had gotten her and a few cast mates arrested for being suspected protesters. After the director was done toying with them, he headed down to the station and got the whole matter taken care of.

"We'd be like...the Bonnie and Clyde of Hollywood, only a lot more attractive."

Rosie laughed at that. "Yeah, well, just promise I'm not always going to have to be Clyde," She joked glancing back up and then noticing the large clock that hung on the wall. Her eyes went wide seeing the time. "Oh ***t, " she said, straightening up as she had been leaning against the wall. "Can I borrow you phone real quick, I was supposed to go meet some guys down at the beach in five minutes and I've still got to run back home," Rosie said, looking away from the clock and back to Emmy. "Local call, I promise," Rosie added with a grin. "I dropped my phone yesterday," Rosie lied and it was pretty clear that she had from the sheepish grin she wore.

Well, she had kind of dropped it, in that 'I am indeed highly pissed right now' kind of way.

"I think my hero-worship started when she did Girl Interrupted. She's sweet though, I ran into her a few times and, you know, we all get lapses in judgment."

"I wish I had met her," said Emmy, poking her bottom lip out in a mock-pout. It was pretty funny when celebrities talked that way about other celebrities. But Emmy was fairly new at this whole celebrity thing, and she still looked up to the other actors so much.

"Maybe I should call her and tell her that I'm her designated buddy who will help her get her good habits back. You know, kind of like a good influence..." Emmy grinned sheepishly as she said that, knowing she sounded like a star-struck teenager. But at least she hadn't said anything about what she wanted to do to Christian Bale if she met him.

"Can I borrow you phone real quick, I was supposed to go meet some guys down at the beach in five minutes and I've still got to run back home,"

"Sure, no problem," said Emmy, digging in her purse and getting out her phone. She turned it on, and it immediately made the noise to notify her that she had a slew of messages. "Just ignore those. I turned off the phone because I didn't want to talk to people."

It seemed like Rosario was lying about the phone, but Emmy didn't push her. Some things people just didn't want to tell others they had just met, and that was understandable.

"Just ignore those. I turned off the phone because I didn't want to talk to people."

"You and me both," Rosie asserted with a grin. "Thanks," She said as she clicked in the numbers on the phone. She took a quick look at both sides before holding it up to her ear. "Nice phone," She said quickly as the person on the other end picked up very quickly.

"I know, I know," Rosie said as she paced off a few steps. She always walked around when she talked. She didn't care who heard her on the phone so it wasn't a privacy thing, she just always did. Maybe it was because she often talked with her hands and couldn't really do that on the phone when the person she was talking too couldn't see her. She just had to move.

"Yeah...yeah, I'm still coming...yeah, I've just got to grab my stuff from the house really quick...Is it?" Rosie continued talking, walking back over to where she had been standing earlier. "So I should bring the wet suit? Yep...ok...yeah...I'll be there in about twenty minutes," Rosie leaned back against the wall again, folding one arm across her chest, "Ok? Ok, see you soon." Rosie said. Rosie switched the phone off and handed it back to Emmy.

"I need to start writing things on my arm or I'm not going to remember anything." Rosie said, handing the phone back to Emmy. "Ok," Rosie said, "I've got to run home," Rosie stated, as though reading off a checklist in her head, "Grab my stuff, toss in the jeep, and head to the beach. I don't think I'm forgetting anything." Rosie said with a nod of her head. "Yep, think that's got it." Rosie set her hand on the handle to the door. "Hey, what are you up to for the rest of the afternoon?" Rosie asked, looking back to Emmy.

"Nice phone."

Emmy smiled. She had felt kind of dumb, spending so much money on a phone, but then she had realized that if she was going to be attached to that like an umbilical chord, it might as well be one that she could be fond of. Though at that moment she wasn't so fond if it, since it didn't stop ringing.

Emmy stood back as Rosario talked on the phone, trying not to eavesdrop, but finding it hard not to. In order to abstain from temptation, she started up a conversation with the teenage girl who was still manning the store.

Then Rosario was done with the conversation, and appeared to be in fast-forward mode. Emmy was afraid that all of the sudden she would explode, or something.

"For the rest of the afternoon...I have plans to turn my phone back off and avoid everybody who wants my attention. Why?"

"Well, I'd hate to leave you on your own facing the 'Razzi if there's still any lurkin' outside." Rosie said. "I'm heading out to the beach to meet up with a few friends to get in some surfing before the tourist season starts up. You're more than welcome to come if you want." Rosie said. "I don't think cells even get decent service out there," Rosie added with a grin.

"And none of us are very good anyways," Rosie commented, unable to stop a laugh at herself. Rosie had just picked up the sport, but she had to admit that she loved it. Elijah had gotten her addicted to it and now she was always heading out with him and a few others.

"I'm heading out to the beach to meet up with a few friends to get in some surfing before the tourist season starts up. You're more than welcome to come if you want."

Emmy was pleased to receive the offer to go surfing with Rosario, because it meant that Rosario didn't think Emmy was the most annoying person on the planet, or anything, and also because it would give her a chance to hang out with somebody who didn't kiss the ground she walked on, or try to manipulate her. She and Rosario were equal (well, Emmy was equal with everyone, but other people tended to think that she was either better or usable), so they could hang out like friends.

"I would love to go surfing. I've only been...twice? Three times? Anyway, I don't have a board...but if none of you are very good, I may be persuaded to try it." Emmy was always embarrassing herself, so she wouldn't mind looking like a fool on a surfboard. Though she hadn't been too spectacular at surfing when she had gone...oh well, she figured that if she looked like an idiot, she'd get over it eventually. That was just a chance you took in life.

"Nah, don't sweat it about the board, I've got a few down the building's garage you can pick from," Rosie stated off handedly. "We've got to hurry though, Lij says the waves are just about perfect now," Rosie added, pulling the door of the shop open. Stepping back out onto the street, it seemed like the 'Razzi had decided to vacate the immediate area.

It was always interesting in how Rosie made friends. She rarely ever struck a relationship with anyone at those parties where you were supposed to make 'friends'. Rosie had trouble stomaching those. Most of her friends always had an interesting origin story. And if throwing balloons onto the 'Razzi wasn't interesting, then she should just stick to the parties.

"Scared 'em all off," Rosie said with surprise. "Well, that pretty much decides it for me...carry water balloons at all times." She added with a laugh. The people traffic was a bit less as the lunch crowd had been forced back into their office buildings. "I think I may have some surf togs you can borrow too, so you don't have to run all the way back to your place. Mine's not too far up the street." Not an owner of a apartment in the Glitz neighborhood, it was too crazy to rent up there for a little place.

Rosie wouldn't have felt too much at home in one of those places anyways. Growing up in a squat will do that to a girl. Rosie had snagged a place at La Hambra. She had converted the top floor into her apartment. It was always in a state of fixing, which Rosie liked.

OoC:

Continue to Rosario's apartment or shoot directly to beach? Up to you kiddo.

"Wow, thanks. I went surfing once, with Jake Gyllenhaal, but that was when I was seventeen..." She was only twenty, but already seventeen seemed like ages ago. She hadn't been surfing since last summer, during the shooting of Poseidon. And that had been to get her more comfortable in the water. Emmy really hoped that she wouldn't look too much like an amatuer.

When Rosario mentioned 'Lij', Emmy raised one eyebrow. "Lij? Who's that?" She wasn't familiar with who Rosario hung out with, so it could have been somebody that Emmy knew, or just another person.

Emmy turned off her phone again and dropped it into her purse, fully intending on shirking all of her responsibilities for the afternoon. She deserved an afternoon away from life.

((Let's head straight to the beach, and see how funny this can be)).
