Larka sat by the sparkling river and warmed her think pelt in the sun's warmth. The birds chirped in the morning, and prey quietly appeared out from their dens to feast on the dew covered plants. Fish gently swam in the river, creating ripples that broke the water's smooth surface. Larka couldn't imagine herself anywhere else, and wished with all her heart that she could sit here forever. It was so peaceful, so welcoming, that she almost forgot the dangers and reality of the cruel, cold world. Her troubling thoughts clouded her mind, and she winced as it brought pictures of her dark past. Larka wanted to howl to the sky and let everyone know who she was and why she was here. But, the she-wolf kept her mouth and heart closed, forever longing to open them to the world. Larka suddenly got up and walked to the water. Her reflection peered back at her, staring into the amiss beyond. Is this who I am? Is this what the world intended me to become? She thought darkly. Larka backed off from the river, and sat back down to regain her good thoughts, and hopefully forget all the darkness that surrounded her.

Larka turned around quickly, suprised that anyone was here. "I was just wandering throughout the lands, seeing if a pack might take me in. I'm deeply sorry for intruding on your lands, and I'll leave if you wish it." Larka dipped her head solemnly, and shuffled her paws in the grass. Larka hoped that Crystal might take her in to her pack, and at last she'd have a home to belong. She desperatly wanted to stop wandering, as she was tired and didn't like the life of a traveler or a loner. Many packs she visited did not want her, and chased her out with tooth and claw. She shivered at the memory.

Larka smiled. "Thanks so much. I deeply appreciate it." Larka thought for a moment, wondering what she could possibly offer the pack. She didn't think she had any incredible skills, but she decided to give it a shot. "Well, I can run exceptionaly fast, and my mother always said that if I became blind, my nose could be my eyes. I guess that means I have a really good sense of smell. I was once able to track a full-grown moose by myself through a blizzard, for three days. I couldn't get over the look on my father's face." Her mince drifted into silence, remembering her father. Then an image flashed through her memory. She remembered when he was murdered, the murderers evil eyes, tearing him apart. She shivered in sorrow, then she looked up at the Alpha. She hoped that was enough to offer to this Pack.
