As usual, there is more to Sterling than you can read on the surface. At first look, he appears to be any other sort of Rock God who fronts one of the best bands over (maybe a little exaggerated) but underneath that is something much more. Even though he seems so extreme and confident on stage, he is completely different in person, and behind closed doors. He prefers to be timid and reserved, really a lot more reluctant when it comes to social situations, or rather putting himself out there in general. It doesn’t mean that he never takes risks, but when it comes to meeting women, or other people in general, he tends to be a lot more cautious in putting himself out there. In general, he would much rather just spend time with a few close friends, usually his band mates, and get a little work done, or just find something hes interested in doing with them.

With women, he is far more timid and reclusive. He has struggled with a drug abuse problem, and just coming out of it really hasn’t helped his social life, and really is so hesitant about putting himself out there and what could come from it. Aside from having a rough past, and battling something so extreme as a massive drug problem, he has come out of it stronger. One of his biggest problems is figuring out something that could take its place. He needs something to stimulate that part of him so that he doesn’t dive right back into that hole he once had. He feels constantly scared that he could drive himself back into that sort of lifestyle, but thankfully he has the love of his brother, and the surrounding of his other band mates and friends who refuse to let it happen again. To people that are his friend, or that he is close to, he is incredibly protective over. He doesn’t like seeing people upset, or just hurt, seeing as he is completely aware of who he is now, and doesn’t want to feel distant, so he tries to stay up to date with whats happening. He plans on staying sober and free and hopes that he can sort out everything that might have been soiled from it.

On top of that, he has had a great fan base that has kept him grounded. Even though he lost focus for some time, he knows that his fans will be there for him, and that his music really has reached the masses. At the same time, their fans have a sort of cult-like twinge to them, and it does tend to scare the band as a whole, Sterling included, knowing that it might go too far one day and he might have a stalker on his hand. The fact that the fans can be quite obsessive to begin with is enough for his taste and would rather that it stays at a safe level so that he doesn’t have to have anything insane happen one day. His brother Riley shares in that feeling, and the two sort of have an extremely close bond, and love spending time together. He is part of the reason that Sterling is attempting to remain clean, so that his brother doesn’t leave the band, scared that he was going to once before and he refuses to see it happen again, not knowing what might have persuaded him to do so before. The two are rather unique to each other but they share a lot in common and he cares a lot for his brother, never letting anything happen to him and knows that his brother would do the same for him If the problem arose. He doesn’t let his timid nature get in the way at times with his brother, because he can even get competitive sometimes and that’s usually against his nature to be a fighter rather than a lover, so its something that his brother brings out in him.

[distinguishing features] Well, for Sterling, hes got the emo look going for him. He is big on guy-liner and black is his all time favorite color. He does enjoy being well groomed and even though he is mostly in head to toe black, he keeps himself well-kept. He figures that its much better to have good hygiene and it all works much better for him that way. Otherwise he just not the tallest of fellas and is rather petite in general, and it doesn’t help when its paired with a timid personality which only makes for a more eventful combo.

Sterling’s birth was nothing spectacular, along with the majority of his younger years. He was brought up in a musical family, his parents being rather decent musicians, or just generally enjoying music as a whole. The house was normally filled with the sound of various genres of music and it only inspired his mind as a young adolescent. In school, at least in elementary school, he was a rather above average, and conforming student. He didn’t really move outside the realm of normalcy for some time as he went through elementary and middle school, seeing as there wasn’t need for stimulation through that trial of his life. It wasn’t really until he met up with his friends, turned band mates ___Cahill and ___ Selwyn that things really moved forward. They were aspiring musicians and even at a young age, they had big ideas about what they wanted to do in life. They really introduced Sterling, along with his brother to the world of the genre that they would burst into the scene with.

It didn’t take long for the four of them to join together and just jam together in the garage for some time. It took some time for anything more to amount from it, rather just enjoying the idea that they were able to play freely, as Sterling quickly learned his gift as a singer, which was extreme for him considering it put him up front and center when he was extremely timid in nature. It was overwhelming at first, but considering that they weren’t playing in front of crowds, he was easily able to handle it. That lifestyle continued for a few years as they got better and better, practicing and honing in on their skill until they knew they had something real. It was then that they started leeching out into the local Jersey scene looking for some potential small time gigs, and that’s when they learned that there was something real going on. They slowly evolved into something bigger, as they bagged bigger outlets and were really becoming something of a threat, something too big for just Jersey. It was at the same time that they sent in a demo and were quickly snatched up and signed where they really bursted into the scene.

All in this time, Sterling was slowly slipping into something dark and vile. He was introduced into the world of drugs and alcohol. He was rather cocky with the idea that his band was now signed, and that they were gaining in popularity, and his peers were all but pressuring him to do so. So he was dipping into a grave that he may have never come out of. He loved the feeling he got from it, but his personality was something that his band mates couldn’t take. His performing was much worse that way as he was sloppy and disturbing, easily irritable and often flailing when thinking he was singing or dancing something rather well. He would even quit performances, and refused to perform when he was hung over, really pushing his brother, and the rest of the band away from him. He refused to see what was happening, believing full-heartedly that everything was okay, but it was the determination of his brother that saved him inevitably. He saw what was happening to his brother and Riley refused to lose his brother, eventually forcing him to enter rehab program after rehab program. It wasn’t until the third time that something stuck, and Sterling came out clean, and stayed that way. It only took a year for him to come back to his senses thankfully, and battled often with the addiction that he could easily call back into.

On top of that, he came out of rehab hearing of rumors that his brother was planning on quitting, and that the current drummer had already thought of that, and had quit. That was all but a deafening blow to Sterling and could have easily sent him right back to square one, but he held strong and believed that the band would easily pull through, confident that everything would work out. It was then that the band came up with the quick decision to add their techie ___ Denieo to the band as their permanent drummer and hopefully he would be a solid fix. The band continued to play well now with everything out of the realm of constant drama, and it was around that time that he met Cass Derringer. She was a fresh face to him and quickly stuck as the new addiction to him. He couldn’t find time away from her, and didn’t want to be, as she really helped him through everything. He was willing to really get close to the girl but knew that she had a guy of her own. It was odd to him but really couldn’t see himself being away from her for a moment, and was rather protective of her from the start. He has no idea of where it will go from there with them, but knows that she could be something real. Someone that made him want to be more confident, and show that he is more than some timid shorty and that he can make her happy no matter what.
