Formed in 1993, Mushroomhead has released 7 c.d.'s, 1 DVD, and has been included in four soundtracks. Though they've been around for 13 years, they haven't exactly been famous until their last c.d. XIII was released. The c.d. included a song that was featured on the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack, and it opened up a new era for the band. The next soundtracks that they were included in were XXX, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Scorpion King, those three featuring songs off of their "greatest hits" album titled XX. Now, the band has returned after 3 years of silence to release their newest works titled: "Savior Sorrow."

Though the band has let go of two of their best band members (J. Mann and Bronson), the new album didn't disappoint fans. The guitar parts were more basic and the vocals changed a little bit, but overall, Savior Sorrow deals the same amount of anger and emotion as XIII did. The c.d. includes one of Mushroomhead's greatest songs (in my personal opinion) titled "Embrace the Ending" which is a slow rendition of an earlier song on the album.

Savior Sorrow is a great emotional ride, and it doesn't disappoint at all. The band delivers in most of it's high points, but the guitar and vocals could've been more complex than it was. Overall, the album enthralls all who listen to it, and lives up to what Mushroomhead truly is.
