Appearance: Waku is 16 but looks about 2 years younger. He’s rather short and scrawny for his age. He has light blond well-kept hair that hangs down passed his ears. His eyes are grey and he often has an uncertain expression. He wears a light, sky blue jacket over a white T-shirt, black jeans and white runners. He is also farsighted so he keeps his glasses with him but only uses them when he needs to see something up-close.

Personality: Waku is rather timid and usually avoids speaking if he can help it. When he does speak a lack of certainty and lack of confidence can be heard in his voice. Waku is painfully self-conscience and is often afraid to speak for fear he might say something stupid. This can give the impression that he is socially awkward which is, in a sense, true. Waku had a great love of music, music of any kind (except rap which he can’t stand) which would explain why he had his iPod with him when he died.

History: Waku entered to Reaper’s Game Week 1 and was partnered with Orson. The two moved through the game at a slow pace and were almost completely useless the first few days. On day 4 Orson was killed, leaving Waku without a partner. He was able to form a new partnership with Yuuko, a player who had been under the producer’s care since day 1. Waku and Yuuko were able to survive until the game was won and which point Waku made the decision to become a reaper instead of playing the game again.

Waku’s past is very much a mystery. He seems to avoid talking about himself, giving no hints as to how he died or what he paid in order to play the game. It is apparent he no longer cares about his Week 1 entry fee whatever it may have been.
