Patience reached out to touch the skin on Paige's arm. It was indeed rocky and tarrish. Then all of a sudden it was flesh again, and Pat was getting a full view. She blinked, and it seemed to work almost like a camera. The image was burned into her mind. Patience dropped her arm back and looked down at the ground, looking at the husks. Interesting. It was similiar to the crystal shavings Patience sometimes found on her bed, that she knew came from her own crystals shedding.

"Don't worry about it, I'll help you pick it up," Patience stated quietly, looking back up at Paige, an amused smile on her face, "It is my room after all."

Patience leaned down to start helping Paige pick up the mess; not that it was really all that bad. Pat had seen several boys rooms in her time, and they tended to be a complete catastrophe. She pulled over a trashcan she kept under the desk, hoping it'd be big enough. As she worked she also thought. The image of Paige's body seemed seered into her mental imager like a brand. As Patience was too busy trying to focus on the cleaning and not on the image, like that ever worked, she didn't notice the little crystal tips popping out of her skin all over her body.

After she'd gotten dressed again, Paige looked back over at Patience. "I'm really sorry about that. Normally its not a problem holding a material longer than that, but I guess I was excited. And that's interesting. Is it voluntary? Your crystals are poking out everywhere." Patience seemed almost in a daze, or daydreaming.

"Sooooo, do we need to go and see an adult about this? Its seems kinda unlikely that I can just walk in and live here. Who's in charge? And who do I tell so I can get my own bed?"

"Is what Volun... Oh... Oh?!" Patience's grey eyes grew wide as they looked at her arms.

She'd never seen anything like this happen before. She glanced at her legs and saw more crystals there. Raising her shirt, she saw the pointy tips of more growing on her stomach, and the chest just under her breasts. In fact, it only took a quick feel up of her body to determine where all of these spikes were. They seemed to be popping up everywhere, but where it could potentially hurt her; as her sides and inner thighs. The spikes also weren's on her face, but she did feel some popping up on the top of her head. Instead of freaking out, like she was sure most people would, Patience instead smiled in delight.

"Nope, not intentional. This has never happened before. I don't even know what's causing it. Kinda cool though, isn't it?" She asked, her grin wide and thoroughly enjoying this transformation, "And we can talk to any of the teachers, or X-men. They know the deal when newbies come in."

"Well, I think I'm gonna take a shower before I meet anybody else. Its not easy staying clean when you're hitchhiking. And then do you think it'd be OK if I went and had lunch? Didn't have enough to get anything last night but some chips. This is gonna be so much fun; I'm the oldest girl back home, but my younger sisters are really young, so it'll be nice having a girl closer to my own age to bunk down with." She started towards the bathroom, undressing again, before looking back over her shoulder. "Are there any cute boys at this school?"

"Sure. Shower's in there," Pat stated, pointing towards a door in the side of the room, the small crystals growing on her arms now looking like studs in her skin, "There's towels in one of the cupboards, and we can go get you lunch after you're done. I don't have anything fancy in the way of shampoo or soap, but if you've been hitchhiking, I guess you're not real worried about that, huh?"

Patience was going to turn her back this time. She already had an image burned into her mind that sent strange warmth through her body. She gritted her teeth, silently struggling to make the image go away, as these new spikes continued to grow on her body. She glanced at them. They weren't growing very fast, certainly not what one could call instaneously, but it was much faster than her other spikes grew. She wondered if they'd disappear as quickly too; either reabsorbing back into her skin or shedding off like she knew her current spikes did.

"Anyways, I'll be out here when you're done," She stated, going over to sit at the chair in front of her desk, "If you need anything, holler."

Paige felt great being able to take a shower again. She'd had to shower at YMCAs and youth hostels, and that was a harrowing experience, to say the least, between thieves and people ogling her. Washing up in restroom sinks as she'd hitchhiked had been even worse, and so she shampooed her hair several times, until she finally felt clean. As she dried herself, she noticed the towel was kinda small. Well, Patience had already gotten an eyeful, so no big deal if she saw a lotta leg.

She noticed Patience deliberately not looking, and asked, "Are you an only child? Because my sisters and me shared a room, and I've seen it or been seen by them, so it doesn't bother me too much. And you've already seen it all anyway," she continued, referring to the earlier power malfunction. Her roommate seemed a great deal shinier as well, the spikes much more prevalent than they had been.

As Paige retreated back into the bathroom with some (mostly) clean clothes, her stomach rumbled. "Um, I hate to sound like a mooch, but can we head to the cafeteria once I'm dressed? I'm starved."

"Yes, I am an only child, but I'm kind of used to nudity," Patience admitted, looking at the girl again, "I had to get used to my friends; male and female, getting an eyeful whenever my spikes shredded my shirt or pants. I just know most people don't tend to like to be looked at in the buff."

Patience's eyes trailed over the body in the small towel. Why didn't she have larger towels? She could have sworn she had larger towels. Patience almost gave into the voices in her head to go check. It was a compulsive, powerful want, but it was, for once, ignored by the girl. Mainly because she couldn't make herself move. Her mind was too focused on trying to not focus on the body in front of her.

When the other girl finally went back to the shower, Patience let loose a deep breath she hadn't even realized she'd been holding. A glance at her arms showed that there were no longer just shiny stubs. Three inches long, the new crystals on her body were flawless fullerite and quite sharp. Not to mention that they were virtually everywhere. She blinked, and looked over her body.

"We don't have a cafeteria, so to speak. It's a kitchen. Homey one too," Patience called to the other girl, still examining her new crystals, "When you're dressed I'll take you there and you can grab whatever you want to eat. It's pretty well stocked."

Patience's mind was now distracted from the alluring figure Paige had shown earlier. Instead it was curious; distracted by the many new crystals that had grown through her skin in such a short time. Unaware was she that this new distraction was making the crystals disappear again. They were reabsorbing, but much like their creation, it was a slow process.
