Maiya did the ten reps and put the bar back in place. She stepped out away from it and looked at Miko. She knew what the leg press was and she enjoyed it. It was actually one of the better things she could do.
When she was living with her mother she did the leg press at the bench press a lot making her arms and legs stronger. She knew that in order to be a fast and strong swimmer she needed strength in her arms and legs. The swimming mostly came naturally but that was besides the point.
"I like do the leg press. I can lift 120 pounds with my legs, not a lot but it helped." She told Miko.

Miko saw the leg press was at 200 and took two 40s off each side. He put them all onto a weight rack with relative ease. Then he stepped back, seeing as she seemed to know what she was doing. He looked at the clock. Not too much longer. He had to go back soon. He wanted to study again, not for history but for Elemental Control Class. Which meant he wanted to work the wind, but he wanted to do it alone. For now, he silently watched Maiya.

Maiya went to the leg press and got onto it unlocking it and began to do presses. As she was doing leg presses she looked over to the clock to see that soon she would need to study for her transformaion class.
Maiya decided to be a little creative and brought her legs down to her stomach before pushing the press back up. It was a way to make her stomach and legs stronger as it was almost a sit up the way she was doing it.
After about twenty five press she locked the press and got out of it. "Well...I have to study for another class...shall we do this again tommorow?" she asked.

Miko hadn't noticed if Maiya had sweat or not, but threw her a towel from a stack of fresh ones. He then looked at the clock and thought about her question.
"Actually, tomorrow doesn't work for me," he said. Tomorrow him and Adam were planning to work out for the majority of the day, and he still had classes and stuff. He didn't want to make an appointment andnot be able to keep it. "How about the day after though?" he asked, as he started to move toward the door. "Only in the pool. We can test your shark control."
Risky. But when Miko thought about it, a shark could be the water challenge he needed to really get him ready for the X-Men.

Maiya nodded about tomorrow then went pale and stiff when Miko mentioned the shark transformation. She followed after him grabbing his stuff making sure not to walk into the evil mirror.
"A-are you sure Miko?" she asked. "I don't want to hurt you...but....if you're sure...I guess...we...can do that...."
Just the very idea of that scared her almost to death. What if she hurt him? And worse...what...what if she killed him...? What would she do?
She shook so bad and almost started crying at the thought. Usually the fish girl didn't cry but she couldn't help thinking that she would hurt Miko. The only one who she actually considered a friend. She didn't have many friends or people to talk to that understood her. Zachary and Miko were the only ones that truely understood her.
And if she hurt her friend...she would hate herself for the rest of her life. She couldn't stand the idea of hurting someone and a friend at that.
Would she tell someone it was her if she killed him? Would she keep it a secret for the rest of her life? Would she....This next thought almost made her sick. Would she...get a thrill out of it?

"Yeah, I'm sure. Don't worry about it. I know the risk." Miko held open the door open for her. He turned off the lights and his hand drifted to his trident without him even thinking about it. He looked down and grinned.
"Hey, Maiya," he asked, gently,b ut with as much humour as there was to it. "If you get hurt as a shark, does it heal when you turn back? I gotta know which end to use."

"No I do not heal. If I get hurt in any form I'm in I am hurt in my normal form." Maiya told him looking up at him. She was still afraid of the idea of being a shark near him but she felt she could take control of the shark. She had to. And she knew if things got out of hand he would attack her. At least she could only stay in that form for five minutes...
She looked down the hall and tried to remember which way she had come from..."Um...which way to...the pool...?" she asked. From there she knew where to go.

Maiya walked away a little ways..."I'll see you in two days Miko..." she called out behind her as she made her way to the pool. From there she made her way back to her room to study.
Once in her room she looked over a book for Transformaion Class while looking at the fish in her aquarium. "I hope Miko knows what he's doing..." she told them. She nodded her head. "Yeah, I know what you're talking about....Yeah...I know...Don't call him stupid guys...He's not stupid. No he does not act stupid...Oh be quiet. I don't need to hear you talking that way about one of my friends.....Yes you are my friends too.....What? What do you mean....? I don't like him more than you guys...I like you all equally...what's wrong with that...? Oh shush... I don't have to deal with this..."
With the argumant done she went back to studying for the test.

Miko put his hands in his pockets and walked away. Tomorrow he'd work his ass off, take a few tests, a few notes... And then the day after he'd probably have to fight a shark. Great. Just great.
He went into his room. Adam wasn't there. He was probably meditating in the clearing. Miko didn't want to work out anymore. But he couldn't get soft. One day he wasn't working was one day someone else was. He wouldn't give anyone that upper hand. Miko went out to the gym to practice with the wind.
[OOC: If you like, we can do the two days later thread and assume the day in between you went to see Sharkrush. Or it can be before that. Or we can play that the mansion attack happened before we can meet. Your choice, let me know what you decide with a PM or something.
