Canon/Original: Original (Update)
Codename: Prophet
Real Name: Dariyah Zivkovik-Reeves
Nickname: Dasha
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Appearance: Dasha is a tall and slender young woman, and over the last few years has been deemed as quite attractive. Her golden blonde hair that is generally just long enough to pass her shoulders frames her elegant features nicely, complimenting her hazel gray eyes and fair complexion. As of late, there has been a darkness in her normally vibrant eyes, a sadness and a wisdom that speaks of knowing pain and loss. However, lately that sadness had been dimming… replaced by the usual luster that adds a glimmer of light to her features.
Clothing: Though she prefers to be comfortable and casual, Dasha has a tendency to always look her best. Wearing primarily the brighter colors, to compliment her skin tone, she’s found most often in spaghetti strap shirts and jeans, or denim shorts with off-the-shoulder shirts… or any mix and combination. So long as it’s comfortable, and doesn’t look horrific on her, she’ll wear it.
While training, she most often wears short loose shorts and a tank top, but occasionally puts on her combat uniform, just to make sure she’s comfortable with it.
She’s rarely put in combat these days, so she’s changed her uniform to something a bit simpler… and a bit more fitting of her name. A scarlet
cloak (it’s scarlet, I swear! >.>) with a gold trim, the hood hanging low enough to conceal her features.
Powers: Prophet is clairecogniscient. She has the ability to see anywhere on the timeline, past present and future. Though it doesn’t come in the form of visions as most often assume, she simply knows. There’s really no other way for her to describe it.
The future is the easiest for her to access. It often happens whether she wants it to or not. If she touches a person, or even so much as makes contact… something fleeting will cross her mind. Sometimes it can be as trivial as what they’ll have for lunch the next day, or it could be the moment of their death. She never knows what, or when, she’ll find out… unless she tries to access a specific moment or situation. Even then the results are unpredictable at best.
Past is a bit more tricky for her to access. It always requires direct intention, and intense focus, and often a bit of mental struggle in order to find the right place on the timeline. The further away the incident, the harder it is for her to find it.
The Present is extremely difficult for her. It requires a great deal of mental preparation and meditation, and at the moment she is only able to do it if she’s planned for it in advance. So currently, it is something she can only access while training, as a means to strengthen her control. It also causes the most strain on her mentally, and she’s left exhausted even after just a couple moments.
Weakness: Her greatest weakness when it comes to her powers is the lack of reliability. With the past and present, it’s never a guarantee that she’ll be able to know what she’s trying to find. It’s almost impossible to pinpoint an exact moment on the timeline, so it’s a matter of trying to get as close to it as possible. But “as close to it as possible” could be a year away. When it comes to future, she never knows if what she accesses will be what really happens or not. The future is such a delicate thing, and even the slightest decision and act can change it entirely.
She also exhausts easily, especially when trying to look farther in the past or close to the present. The former can wear her out, and limit the rest of her day’s activities to what doesn’t require much concentration, the latter can leave her sleeping for up for 48 hours, depending on how long she tried to focus on the present.
Personality: Dariyah is always kind and gentle, and doesn't like hurting people. She tries to refrain from telling someone too much about the future, as she knows that more often than not they will try to change it, and the entire timeline may be changed because of it. She loves to be around people, and is sometimes conflicted when she does not want to know anything more about their future. Over the years, she’s become a bit less care-free, the darker events of her life giving her a more solemn outlook. She’s wiser because of it, and perhaps even more tender and loving to the people around her. But that may also have a great deal to do with her new motherhood.
History: Dasha was born in Russia, but raised in New York City. She lived a pretty normal life, until she was thirteen and she woke up at three in the morning Christmas Day, histerically sobbing, and called 911 claiming her parents had been in a car accident one mile off the highway. As the ambulance arrived, the EMTs watched in horror as a car spun off the road to roll down the hill and crash into a tree, bursting into flames. It was the only accident that occured that night. Dasha had made the call ten minutes before the accident actually occured.
She was sent to live in foster care, as she was now an orphan, and withdrew from the world. Every now and then she would report to her foster parents something that happened, that would not have happened until some time later. She never knew how she knew these things, only that she did, and she never found out until a man by the name of Professor Charles Xavier came (predictably) to her house, requesting her foster parents to allow her to go to his boarding school. They agreed, and Dariyah went with them without a fuss.
Xavier wasted no time in telling her why she knew about things that hadn't happened yet, but despite all their efforts, no one has been able to teach her how to control it. So it happens at random, occuring when she doesn't want it to, and not when she needs it the most. She gets rather frustrated about it, but has noticed that it happens more often when she's under considerable emotional stress. She has always hated Christmas after that first fateful night, and her abilities always take a peak during the Christmas Season, coming whenever she looks at or touches a person.
A few years after she’d joined the mansion, she met Razor, and swiftly fell in love. Their romance progressed rapidly, but neither of them seemed to mind. Soon he was proposing, and while she wasn’t quite ready to be married, she accepted, knowing that she wanted no one else but him. They were engaged for quite some time, before Dariyah disappeared. In truth, she had been approached by a man who claimed to be able to train her… teach her how to control her powers and become a better and stronger person. She agreed, and without being given a chance so much as to leave a note, she was taken to a place that was outside of place and time. The man had been right in what he could teach her. It was with his guidance that she learned how to look anywhere on the timeline, and how to fight physically so she wouldn’t be defenseless. Nearing the end of her stay as a pupil there, there was a mutiny of sorts, when the other students rose up against the man that had been training them for so long. Dariyah fought at his side, and in the process received a wound on her ribcage from a magical sword that somehow bonded her physical body to her clairecogniscience. It closed, but the scar never faded, and whenever she is too physically active the wound tears open again, and her powers start to go haywire. There are also times, when her power advances beyond their normal limits, the wound opens without cause or explanation. It’s a threat that there seems to be no cure for.
She returned to New York a year after her disappearance, and found Razor in an alleyway after he’d been mugged. He was in bad shape, having given up hope after she left. It took them some time, but they grew into trusting each other again, and were married not too long after. Getting pregnant on her honeymoon, Dariyah stopped her training in the Cadet program, though continued as a student. A few months later though, Razor disappeared, and the only information she’d been given was that he had been killed. Dasha withdrew into herself then, spiraling into a deep depression, barely maintaining the drive to continue on alone. When the mansion was destroyed by the Sentinels, the students were moved to Muir Island until it was safe to return. During her stay here, she knew that Razor was alive and in Greece, and she quickly left to find him. Their daughter was born that night, and the next day Dasha and Aaliya went back to Muir Island, as Razor still had some things he needed to finish.
Muir Island was attacked by the Purifiers, and Dasha barely managed to escape the massacre with her daughter. Luckily, the Sentinels were defeated the same night in the Savage Lands, and the X-Men rebuilt the mansion quickly. Dasha and her daughter returned, as did Razor a couple months later. Now a teacher at the mansion, Dariyah has sworn to use her clairecogniscience more actively, praying that any future disasters may somehow be avoided.
