Title: Make a team out of you
Description: Paragon team
Razor - June 1, 2011 07:03 PM (GMT)
Razor stood in the clearing. His body was upright and showed some life to it. His hair was messy and his bangs slightly covered his pale eyes. Behind him were five very large and tall poles sticking straight up and tied to the ground by rope. The swordsman came to train his team. Nothing more. He would train them. But it would be their decision of how to respond to it all.
"You all were assigned to me for your training" Razor spoke looking among the young students. "You are here to learn and grow. Ororo asked me to be here, end of story. I was an X-man like you all wish to become and I returned as one."
His words seemed harsh but he didn't want to give them special treatment. The warrior took this role very seriously. Wish each passing day it seemed that he was fading more and more. "These poles will be your first assignment. I have personally placed an item up at the top. It is very important to get your item"
"I do not care how you get the stuff as long as you get them" Razor said standing in front of the closest person. "There are no climbing tools here to help you get to the top. So each of you will have to find a way to do so. Say your name and your powers and get me my items"
Alanoth - June 1, 2011 10:16 PM (GMT)
Alanoth stared at the man who was in his face, and wondered why he had bothered to come.
"I'm Alanoth, I use electricity to fight or for other things. I can't create electricity, but I can manipulate any source of it."
Alanoth fortunately had some electricity inside him, so he simply shot the item off the pole and retrieved it from off the ground.
Jubilee - June 2, 2011 03:29 AM (GMT)
Jubilee rolled her eyes and shrugged. "Whatevs."
When her teammate got his item, she smiled and spoke, softly. "Nice job."
She was wearing her full combat uniform, made of Unstable Molecules. It was red, almost cranberry, with a yellow stripe along the center line. She also, of course, had on her yellow combat boots, and a much more slender pair of yellow gloves, similar to the basic X-Men costumes. To add even more flair, she was wearing her bright yellow trenchcoat, and her bubblegum pink goggles (the visor was too bulky for practices). She stepped up and looked at all of them. She figured most of the people here knew her and what she was.
"Jubilee. If you don't know my powers... you're about to find out."
In a flash, she removed the gloves, pointing her hands at one of the poles. The plasma formed on the end of each finger before shooting off in a stream which caused the pole to disintegrate. When the item from the top started to fall, she leaned forward and sprinted in, grabbing it before doing a standing backflip to hand it to Razor.
Charlie Rose - June 3, 2011 05:17 AM (GMT)
What does paragon even mean? ‘New x-men’ sounded so much better. Charlie sighed, not paying particular attention to the man talking to them. She should be, she really ought to pay attention if she was going to get anywhere.
Charlie took a moment from her zoning out to take in the things around her. He was a handsome bloke. Tall and lean and so obviously fit. Charlie tugged on a strand of beads in her hair. He looked as though he’d been through his fair share of hell but what mutant hadn’t?
Charlie groaned as Jubilee took off, there was no way she was going to be able to top either of the two performances that had just happened. She made shadows for god’s sake, that was it.
She smiled at Jubilee and shook her head with a rueful smile. “Well done.”
Charlie stayed where she was but spoke loud enough. “Charlie.” She said with a hand on her chest. “I manipulate shadows.” Charlie made an awkward hand gesture as though trying to show the others what she meant.
She tilted her head looking at the poles. She could send the black crow that perched on her shoulders to get the object but Charlie felt as if this was cheating. Instead she lifted the bird off her shoulder and shooed it away and quietly she walked over to one of the three remaining poles. She ran a hand methodically over the rope.
Tying back her black mess of curls into a pony, she grabbed on and started to climb up. She slipped once, let out a small curse, and kept going. She grabbed the object and then slid to the ground as gracefully as she could manage, walking back to the group. "I believe this is yours."
Husk - June 6, 2011 01:23 AM (GMT)
"Some of ya'll already know me. I'm Paige. I can change my skin into different stuff, so my codename is Husk." It was kinda gross, but she did it anyway. Silently she thanked them for getting her the costume that didn't tear away. She wasn't sure about the science behind unstable molecules, but she didn't know how a jet engine worked, but flew on planes anyway. As she ripped away her skin, she was dark red underneath. Brick. "Ya'll might wanna stand back a little ways." Brick chipped kinda easy, after all. She clanked as she went to one of the poles with something still on top, and basically battered it until it fell down. Her hand-to-hand training wasn't really up to par, so it was just her hitting and striking one point. But being brick made her strong, much stronger than she normally was. It only took a few minutes to punch the wood in half. Her item fell to the ground, and she husked again, pulling off the brick skin and unveiling her normal flesh below. "Here ya go."
Technoid - June 6, 2011 04:55 AM (GMT)
James watched as one by one his fellow teammates retrieved their items from the poles. All of them had what James would call "offensive" powers. Paige was sort of a mix between "offensive" and "defensive", but at least she had something. James wasn't sure what his technopathy was. He considered his smarts to be both, but only indirectly in some cases. But it was times like these when he knew he had to be sharp and make up for what he felt he lacked; real power.
"I'm James and my codename is Technoid. I'm a technopath." All James usually said was that he was a technopath. He felt saying he was a genius just made him seem arrogant and a bigger nerd than he really was. At the time, he was wearing the beginnings of what he hoped would be his uniform. It was made of unstable molecules, but James mostly had it so he could study it himself. Plus, it was strong material. He felt he needed the extra protection.
With a sigh, he stepped forward and unsheathed his katana. He wasn't sure how Razor felt about the blade, but he felt he would find out afterward. Seeing the ropes that held the poles to the ground, he slashed at them with one stroke and easily severed them. His eyes were locked onto the item at the top of the pole as he used all the strength he had and kicked the pole, making it slowly teeter backward. He gave it another hard kick, and seeing it start to fall, quickly ran a few yards to where it would fall, still looking up at the item on top.
When the pole finally fell with a loud thud to the ground, James stood calmly as the item fell simply into his outstretched hands. Sure, it wasn't as flashy as the rest, but he felt it was resourceful enough. Handing the object to his mentor, he walked back to the others and waited.
Razor - June 10, 2011 04:40 AM (GMT)
Razor watched with little amusement as each person called out there names and began to claim the items. He noticed some used their parents while others went by hand or payed attention. A smile came to the mans face as he saw James use a katana. He so much enjoyed swords, it made the warrior chuckle briefly.
"Very good team" Razor said holding the items. "My name is Razor if you haven't guessed by now. I am very old, I feel old just standing here. Training isn't something I have done in a long time. Very long, before your parents were ever thought of. You each have skills and your own ways of doing things. Some used your powers for this, and two of you decided to do this without powers."
"I will help you learn how to control your powers and yourselves. But I will make this brief. I don't know any of you and none of you most likely know me. So I would like to take some time and let us get to know each other. Who has a question for me?"
Alanoth - June 10, 2011 10:21 PM (GMT)
Alanoth had been wondering for a while what power Razor had. Razor hadn't displayed his own, and it was egging at Alanoth to know about his instructor.
"I have a question. What is your power, sir?"
[STAFF]Cookie Modster - June 11, 2011 06:06 AM (GMT)
(Alanoth, please keep your posts above 4 lines from now on)
Jubilee - June 11, 2011 11:46 PM (GMT)
Jubilee looked at him and raised an eyebrow, folding her arms over her chest. "Really, with the bogus 'too old for this s***' act, already? Wow. That's, like, totally cool. So, yeah, I got a question for you, Razor. First - who are you that got far enough on Storm's good side to lead a team?"
It wasn't quite the same question as Alanoth's, and it certainly wasn't phrased as respectfully. Jubilee knew she was a superhero. She'd been one. She was one still. And she wasn't going to have some punk come along and try to act like she wasn't.
Charlie Rose - June 17, 2011 01:02 AM (GMT)
Charlie shifted her wieght awkwardly, her lips twitched slightly. If someone had known Charlie well enough they could see the small smile being restrained and the humor that danced in her eyes. She looked at Jubilee from under hooded eyes. There could be no better roomie. It seemed that even though her comment had been rude, Charlie respected her for standing up for something she was obviously passionate for. Whatever that was.
The trainning had felt useless and Charlie felt slightly dissapointed but she shifted her gaze onto Razor. He would have something up his sleeves. He hadn't lost her attention completely. Not yet. Charlie decided she would hold off on the questions and instead watch.
