Title: Reason to Chill
Description: Come one, come all! :)
Scope - September 20, 2005 08:39 PM (GMT)
Isaac sat on the Aussie beach, staring off past the ocean. It was warm, quite warm in fact but the breeze comming from the ocean cooled it down a bit. He snapped his gaze from the ocean and watched the people walk up and down the beach.
Australia was a place Isaac had wanted to visit for a long time, it was far away from home and he needed to escape from all that was familar. At home in the mansion, it seemed everthing and everyone tried his patience no matter what he said or what he did.
Watching these strangers walk past him, not giving him a second look, he enjoyed the feeling of being thought of as normal. The solitude was calming, he seemed to always be alone. No matter how many people surrounded him, he felt isolated.
He hadn't asked anyone to join him on his trip, but he found himself starting to miss fellowship. He ran his hand over the warm sand, wondering if he was missed...or even noticed to be gone.
Scope - September 23, 2005 05:19 PM (GMT)
Isaac continued to sit on the warm sand, the cool ocean breeze seemed to relax him. He was beginning to feel lonely, even though he was surrounded by beach goers, he wanted to see; to speak to someone he knew.
But he wasn't going home, he was going to convince himself he could live on his own...just like he had done before his time at the mansion.
Call it pride or ego, but there's yet to be a human who walked this earth who hasn't had at least one of the two.
Isaac could feel the sun's warmth on his arms and neck, he'd leave here with quite a tan if he stayed out for much longer. 'Could I make it on my own again? Or have I been pampered so much at the institute that I'm now relying on help?' his thoughts contained some bitterness, mostly at himself for becomming so dependent.
Avalanche - September 27, 2005 04:18 AM (GMT)
Avalanche happaned to be in Australia at the time, enjoying some vacation, for once, which was something that he hadn't liked to do. He came out to the beach carrying his ususal accessories when he made these trips. He had a towel, umbrella, and he was carrying a rather big case full of food and drinks that he would use instead of spending money on useless junk that had the potential to make anyone sick.
Avalanche stepped out onto the sand, before he saw the mutant he saw back at the X-Mansion that he had now recognized as Scope. He had saved him by taking him to the nearby cave, now that he could recall. The rock crusher could now feel the wind blow on him hard now, as he moved closer to the mutant to chat. He really wasn't in the mood to battle, and would be totally angered if he had to. It was one of those rare moments, where rocky just wanted to be left alone, but he put his stuff down nearby and advanced on the mutant.
"What're you doing, here in Australia?" said Avalanche cooly. Scope was one of the few X-Men that he truly didn't hate, and Avalanche thought his powers to be useful. Rocky advanced even more, into a talking distance, before he spoke the same words only louder this time so the mutant could hear him. "What're you doing in Australia Scope?" Lance said louder this time, being a tiny bit more generous to the mutant.
He turned away to see what everyone else on the beach was doing, not wanting to look eye contact into him because he knew what his powers were capable of. The other reason was he didn't want eye contact for a response anyway. Avalanche moved his feet back and forth slowly, waiting for a response while observing everyone else on the beach.
Scope - September 27, 2005 06:45 PM (GMT)
Isaac snapped out of his thoughts and turned around to see who had called him by his codename. Upon seeing Avalanche, Isaac wasn't sure what to think. Was Avalanche here to start trouble....or trying to find some down time like he was? He had no previous reason to distrust Avalanche, even if he was part of the Brother Hood. Isaac didn't hold a grudge against the Brother Hood the way most of the X-men did, infact, they had never done anything to Isaac to make him judgemental of them.
"Hello there. Just wanted some down time...What brings you to this far off place?" Isaac asked, brushing the sand off and standing up.
He took note of all that Avalance had brought with him; a towel, umbrella and a large case. If things didn't seem right, he could always x-ray the case to see what was inside it, but for now Isaac decided he would just give him the benifit of the doubt.
Avalanche - September 28, 2005 01:04 AM (GMT)
Avalanche had expected this response, but he had asked him that question anyway just because of the fact he wanted to know if something was going down. However, after all those attacks from the sadistic and ferocious military that wouldn't give up even if all their men were dying, who couldn't use some down time on the extremely nice beaches and surfaces of Australia. Avalanche had just came from the Opera Tower in Sydney anyway, and he was here for the same reasons.
"Just here for some down time too. I got...injured during the battle of the Mansion from the same side, and I'm not in a condition to fight anyway. I shall have my vengence, but now isn't the time and place," he said sternly, now making eye contact with Scope. He still didn't trust his eyes very much based on his mutant abilities, but, he trusted him enough to see what he would do next.
Avalanche finally took a seat near scope after migrating his stuff here. Very awkward to make conversation with one from the Xavier Institute, but nonetheless Avalanche didn't know anyone here, and would've been even more bored if he was there by hisself. In a sense, it almost seemed like he was glad he saw Scope, just for company purposes.
Scope - September 28, 2005 06:55 PM (GMT)
Isaac matched Avalanche's gaze, slightly raising his eyebrow. "Vengence, eh?" he smirked, "Is that what the Brother Hood is about?". He asked not out of spite or malice, he didn't really know what teh Brother Hood fought for; just that they seemed to fight a lot.
In his mind, Isaac tried to recall if he knew Avalnche's actual name...none came up. He then started thinking about the time Magneto had vistited the institue. People seemed on edge around Magneto...but Isaac had felt the draw of his power, similar to Xavier's, but more willing to fight and not stand on the side.
Isaac had followed Xavier loyally, blindly. Yet, Xavier coulda stoped the attack on the school, instead he waited for the army to distroy it.
Avalanche - September 28, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
"In that case, no," he said giving Scope a weird look. "The aim of the Brotherhood is not to sit there and reason with the humans, it's to make them respect the race of homo superior or something, the mutant race. There ain't no reasoning with them, I tell you this," he said again, now turning his head to the Ocean just ahead of him. He stood up for a few secs, to dust off his clothes, then sitting back down and applying a new bandage to the crucial wound Shred had given him. He screamed a small bit, growing angrier by the second as he yelled in pain.
Lance turned back to Scope, the only name he knew or could call him by. "So, I take it your still loyal to Xavier, the one who thinks he can reason with the human race?" said Lance emphasizing the human race in his speech. He knew somehow Scope would respond to this lightly, yet he was now predicting his response. Rocky turned back to make eye contact with Scope, waiting for a response while predicting one at the same time.
Lorna Dane - September 29, 2005 11:00 AM (GMT)
It was alright for some to be on holiday, Lorna however got stuck in Australia working. How exactly was beyond her, but despite her confusion she had a job to do. Donning a pair of shorts and a camisole, Polaris made her way down the beach, her hair hanging loosely in a braid at the back of her head.
Okay, so she was taking some time out from her mission. What Forge didn't know wouldn't hurt him though, right? Letting loose a sigh she stopped as she caught sight of Avalanche and Scope. Blinking she shook her head and muttered something about unlikely friends, before heading over in that direction as she watched Lance change his bandage.
It was fairly ammusing to watch someone in pain, well it was if you were vindictive anyway. Fighting back the urge to laugh, she reached into the blue leather backpack slung over her shoulder and threw a bottle of antiseptic spray in his direction. "Word of advice, don't change bandages on the beach. Not unless you have a death wish anyway. Sand + Wound = Pain and infection."
Oh god, it sounded like she actually cared. Mentally kicking herself she gave a small wave to Scope before flashing a smile. May as well look remotely friendly.
Avalanche - September 29, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
Avalanche caught the bottle, growing angrier that another X-geek was now at the beach. He didn't care if sand got into his wound, or how bad it hurt. He was going to get better, and he WAS going to have his revenge. "Thanks for the tip, but no thanks. Doesn't matter to me how bad this thing hurts. It IS going to heal," he said, emphaszing the word is big time.
He sprayed some antesthetic then sealed up the wound, before throwing the bottle back to her. Lance could tell she liked the mutant with the codename of Scope. Moving just a little farther away, he looked at them both in disbelief still waiting for Issac to answer his questions.
Lorna Dane - September 29, 2005 03:27 PM (GMT)
"Y'know when you were first getting treated for that shot, I was the one that was trying to stop you from bleeding out. I don't know why I even bothered."
Catching the bottle, Lorna glared at Avalanche, before dumping it back in her bag. Somewhat annoyed by his reaction, since she had, after all, been trying to help, Polaris found herself subconciously magnetising all of the metal rubbish left by irritating tourists. It happened when she was annoyed, which was rather often.
Taking note of what she was actually doing, the green haired nymph blinked. Stupid Lance, why'd he have to be so bloody inconsiderate? Raising her hands in a gesture that screamed ' I give up', Lorna paused. Sticking her tongue out she wretched. "Eugh! I think I've caught morality." Raising a hand to her head she exhaled. Once her mutation had finally calmed down, Polaris took a few steps back before turning to head up the beach again.
Scope - September 29, 2005 06:05 PM (GMT)
Isaac turned away from Avalache, turning to look out over the ocean. He heard Avalanches questions...but the answers that came to his mind weren't the same answers he would have given before the war started.
"I guess you could say I am still loyal..." In truth though, he was irratated that Xavier hadn't gone with Magneto's plan of offense. Without realizing he was speaking, he talked in a hushed tone. "Xavier could have saved the school and mutant lives...but he just waited for the army to arrive..." Bitterness and, could it possibly be, hate snuck into his words.
Snapping out of his thoughts, he turned to see who the new female voice was that was talking so closely. It was a green haired female that didn't look familiar...she had waved and smiled at him, so naturally he raised an eyebrow and gave a short smile back. "You two....know each other?" he inquired, wondering if she was also part of the Brother Hood. If so, he was being quickly out numbered.
Avalanche - September 29, 2005 10:03 PM (GMT)
"That is Polaris," Lance finally said pointing to the green haired mutant that was now heading up the beach even further. But then, Scope's words with his exact tones ringed through Avalanche's head. Doesn't sound like loyalty to me. Maybe Scope has had enough of Xavier? Hmm..I'd better keep an eye out for this one, thought Avalanche "She has a power similiar to Magneto's. She has power over magnetism as well," he said sternly and quickly watching Polaris advance on the beach.
Scope - September 30, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
"I see..." he said as he watched Polaris walk down the beach. "Like Magneto...speaking of which. He still busy trying to dominate the world?". He asked it as if he was being sarcastic, in fact though; he wanted to know what was up with the Brother Hood leader. Just in case, ya know? You never know when you might need to take refuge somewhere.
Lorna Dane - September 30, 2005 11:01 AM (GMT)
After walking about 20 yards or so, Lorna decided to use her mutation in a constructive way. By throwing a can at the back of Lance's head. Sure it was petty, but he deserved it, and it made her feel better. Deciding now would be a good time to get out of the way, Polaris quickened her pace and headed over to a rock protrusion, to get some mineral samples for Forge. Now it looked like she was actually working.
Continually glancing to the two, she pondered over their conversation. She'd heard them mention her father, but nothing more. Bizzare thought. Thinking of Erik as her father. Shaking her head she pulled a small container from her bag and started taking samples, all the while debating whether or not she should go back over there.
Avalanche - October 1, 2005 05:07 PM (GMT)
Lance felt the can hit is head before he turned back quickly to see nothing. Where had Polaris gone that fast? Unbelievable, he thought to himself. Avalanche turned back to Scope, who looked like he was thinking. Rocky got his food out of his case, and began to eat and drink, offering Scope some food.
Ooc: sorry about the small post, but i gotta run and i wanted to post something. ill be back later
Scope - October 2, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Scope shook his head when he was offered some of Avalanche's food, "No thanks man". Isaac wasn't feeling hungry, infact he had eaten not long ago. Relaxing in the sand, Isaac watched people pass them by. Most people were in swimsuits, although a few weren't; just casually walking down the shore.
"Amazing how people can hear the news about mutants being killed and yet they continue to live their lives like normal" He spoke with some bitterness.
Avalanche - October 3, 2005 05:00 AM (GMT)
Avalanche gave him a smirk at those words, observing the humans around him. "I'm telling you, there is no hope to make peace with the humans," he said, biting his tongue standing up now while raising his fist in the air. He sat back down, finishing up the food he had taken out of his basket. "This is a new age, where we prove the humans wrong while they think they are victorious. You should realize this, based on the attacks of the X-Mansion. It's time for revenge, the revenge on humans," Avalanche said quickly, turning his head knowing some humans were passing by them.
Scope - October 3, 2005 07:16 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm...You maybe right" Isaac said quietly. He pondered the thought for a moment more then got up. He brushed himself off, "I'll be seeing you around I think..." Isaac said with a nod.
Scope began to walk up the beach towards the road, his mind trying to sort out what he would do next; what side he would take in this many sided war. X-men? Brother Hood...or something else.
(exit thread)
Avalanche - October 3, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
"Indeed," was the last thing Avalanche had to left to say. He began to walk the other way, back to the plane where he had came from, taking his stuff with him. He was glad he spoke to Scope there, it helped him sort things out. He walked out proudly, as he boarded the aircraft while it took off into the sky.
(Exeunt Avalanche)
