Angel, as he had taken to calling himself, had been flying around the school, landing on teh roof, dipping, diveing, swirling. he hadn't flown this much in ages, adn it felt rather nice. his wings were getting cramps.

but, like all things, it had to come to an end. he found a spot in the gardens, and dove. flairing his wings at the last second, pulling out of the dive, and touching down by the rose bed. his momentum carried him stumbeling, right at the roses. not a good thing.

thorns, bees, and one angry grounds keeper was all he could think of... he tucked his wings in, pushed off, and flipped over the flowers, before landing on his side on teh other end of the garden.

TEN POINTS!

Logan smoked his cigars in the Garden. He knew that the Professor didn't like him doing it in the house, and he knew that he would know. He watched as Warren flew high up in the sky . Diving down, missing the rose bush by inches.

" Hey ! I didn't plant those roses for them to get ruined, " he said rather roughly, but he was just messing with him, he tended to do that . He did plant the roses though.

" I see that your getting used to your wings ? " He didn't smile, he just took a drag from his cigar. He rarely smiled.

Angel groaned as he pushed himself off the ground, shakeing his head. the ground had never hurt that much before. and Logan didn't help much.

"i'll keep that in mind when i'm going over a hundred next time." he muttered, roleing his eyes.

"you try being top-heavy. it's not easy. i've never had to use them this much before."

" Well don't worry . You'll be able to learn how to use them better, when you start coming to my Danger Room Courses. Although your not a student here, Storm and I were surprised at how well you did that night at Alkatraz when you saved your father. So . . . if your willing , you could be a member of the X-Men , and help us with our cause. " Logan, sat back up against a tree , puffing on his cigar, while he waited for a reply.

He had offered a chance to be one of the X-men. Most would have jumped for joy at this, but, Angel was a little more wary. It's not that he didn't want to help them, and it's not that he didn't belive in their cause.

It was that he wasn't sure if they really wanted him.

"Thank you, Logan. That's kind of you. Am I really what you're looking for though?"

He would love to help them, would love to be one of the X-men. but he could also just be dead-weight. Mainly, it was his weakness that held him back. All it took was one wrong landing, one mutant that had clawed through his wings, and he ould need resquing.

Not that he was going to let that happen.

With Warren's skills at flying, he was most definately needed. Logan understood his worries and fears. Warren was still a kid, atleast in Logan's eyes.

" Yes, I'm sure. This wasn't exactly my idea though. Storm believes with your light weight bones, structure, and of course those pretty little wings of yours, that you would be a great value to the team. "

He took a drag from his cigar , and tossed it to the ground. It was half way out, but it was beginning to taste stale. He dusted off roses, and then looked back up to Warren.

" Oh, and if you land on those roses, I'll personally cut them wings off myself, " he said unsheathing his claws from his right hand.

Storm wanted him? well, that changes Warren's mood a little. he had to have done somthing right.

"well, if that's what you need, then i'll join. we're all pawns after all."

those claws again. he eyed them, his wigs shifting, ready for flight if need be. he had seen what those things could do. one hit would ground him for at least a month.

at least.

"don't worry, i didn't try to hurt your roses. never knew you were such a sensitive soul, Logan."

well, if that's not takeing your life into your hands...

his wings had grown back when he was younger.... but it had been ages since he hadn't had them. he probibly couldn't satnd without them.

and who knew if they grew back anymore.
