Where can these be found? The required talent is in the talent table provided by gwaedin, yet the weapons and the stats are nowhere to be found. I was thinking of giving an NPC a sling, but now I am at a loss. Also, I'd like to know, how widespread a weapon the sling (and possibly the staff sling, if there is one) is in Aventuria.

I can give you the stats I was using when playing with the old rules:
HP: 1d6+2 HP mod(range): +1 (5m), +2 (10m), 0 (20m), -1 (40m) Weight: 10 (weapon), 5 (ammo) Cost: 20 (weapon), 0.5 (ammo) It can be found anywhere in Aventuria Hope it helps gwaedin -------------------- Out of the inevitable, an impossibility emerges: you are still alive.

It took a couple of years but I got an answer for this:
slings are one of the oldest ranged weapons and still in use, especially amongst shepherds and some other "civilians". But until only recently cyclopean soldier units using slings were very popular (at least, "Ways of the Sword" says so. Never heard of them myself). Not in wide use today, but in experienced hands they can be very effective. A classic sling does 1d6+2 of damage, has ranges of 0/5/15/25/40, damage adjustments of (-/0/0/0/0), weighs 10 (+3 per stone/bullet) and takes 2 actions to load (even "ready" slings take an action to get activated). Special lead bullets (?) for slings can be bought for 15S, but usually little stones are used that can be found nearly anywhere with little effort. (Source: Ways of the Sword, german, for v4.1) Other thrown "long and unstable" weapons, like the dwarven bat (? looks like a bola with hooks or wing-shaped blades on the iron balls), thrown hooks with ropes (like those used to climb walls), nets with weights on the edges and the like, are to be used with this talent as well. With the Stormlady's blessings, Andreas -- Âruthwan Anneír von Windisch, -------------------- Out of the inevitable, an impossibility emerges: you are still alive.
