Albion

I would be interested in converting an army from the mystical land of albion,is there much written of it and are there any army lists that could be used to make such a force? Id presume they would consist of druids and celtic warrior types or perhaps an Arthurian mediaeval bunch! Any ideas/suggestions?

there was an expansion on it in 1998 which featured a few unit types such as fenbeasts and truthsayers. No real armies though, fluff suggests crudely armed skirmishers accompanied by giants and druids.

As for playing it i think the best way to do it is say which ones will work-

Beasts of Chaos-I like this one has the right feel to it although it is rubbish games wise and scheduled an update next year.
Lizardmen-Could work but finding different models to represent skinks and saurus could be difficult and lack of giant sucks
Wood Elves-Again is a good solution due to high number of skirmishers but the lack of a giant choice hurts as they are quite integral to albion fluff.

Depends what you're more inerested in, playability or representing it well.

If you dont care how it performs on the table id go Beasts. If you do id way up the choices between Lizards and Woodies. Have a look through the army lists and see if you can come up with a nice Albion'esque substitution.

There was a campaign set there with a book and everything if i remember correctly, it was calle dthe The 'Dark Shadows' campaign a good few years back.

I think it should be a chaos warrior army , but all maruader ( celts ) so no chaos warriors or knights.
So units of mauraders on foot , on horse back with throwing axes, a druid ( sorcerror ) or two, and of course a pair of giants ( i belive one was called bollogs ) lots of warhounds , and of course a chaos chariot carrying your general Queen bodicca!

Very nice,I fink this would make a good alternative army.Il take a look at the army books friday,and if we have warhammer rulebooks am I allowed to borrow one from the club to read?

Il use this Hordes miniature for a character model,Cernunnos!

Ive found some celtic warrior miniatures I bought ages ago that will make up some core troops.There are about 11 swordsmen with shields,a leader and a champion,6 archers and 6 spearmen!

you could use the fellbeasts ( from the albion source book ) as spawn in a chaos warrior list.
