Keep up the good work, its nice to see someone post something theyve taken the time to do,other than just a random comment!I have no idea what WAR is but if im allowed any observations of your work it would be that the legs appear too short(I know hes crouching but still isnt right!) and he looks a little traced because its just outlines and no shading(apart from a little smudging, which bought me a B in my GCSE artwork by the way*)but 10 out of 10 for something different!
*I was told by my teacher Id get no better than a D cos I insisted on drawing sci-fi and fantasy!Hes dead now! -------------------- 3900pt army:Grey knight purists.

and I agree, the legs are short, and the torso is large compared to the abdomen. However, it does look pretty good.
And yes, it does look traced... -------------------- |

Thanx 4 the education! Mine were observations not criticism. The beauty of art is in the eye of the beholder,I cannot say whether it is good or bad, just what I see. -------------------- 3900pt army:Grey knight purists.

Heres a few drawings and paintings Ive done, quite a few years ago now, dont do much nowadays.
![]() ![]() ![]() This last painting is a character for Paramecius roleplay game Eidolon, its very 2dimensional and unfinished but that goes to show my lack of enthusiasm for drawing at the mo.Too many miniatures to paint! ![]() Excuse the bared breast! -------------------- 3900pt army:Grey knight purists.

I'm here Lad, and i'll try to help you best i can. I like the style of you drawing, tis like some manga i have seen, and yeah the legs are just a little out of proportion, but it is a tricky old thing. Definately keep it up. I would like to make a comment about tracing ( i know you didn't do it Robert) , there is a general feeling that tracing is cheating. This is wrong! Proffesional artists have been using the method since the invention of the camera obscura. Remember how medieval art that was all flat and had no perspective , suddenly became amazingly lifelike in the 1700's ? This was due to the a new method that had artists sitting in a blacked out room with a tiny hole in the wall which projected an image of what was in the the next room onto the canvas, that image was then traced! Boris vellejo, one of the best known fantasy artists of the 80s and 90s traced photos of his model with a styrograph which enlarge the picture . Most proffessional artists trace photo referance, especially for human studies. It's just another tool in an artists arsenal, using a computer program to paint is the same, just another tool to improve and speed up the process of creating art. It is not the method that is important, just the finished work! well with that rant over...... If you come to club friday Robert, i'll have something very nice for you! Just a bit of personal info here -------------------- |
