Name Utonagan
Gender Male
Age 1 year old
Species Dog
Coloring mixture of tan, white and gray
Breed Utonagan

Appearance From Utonagan's point of view? Tall, ruggedly handsome, dashing, muscular and a charmingly distinguished coat coloring. Fluid movement, and eyes that speak with the determination and soul of a true warrior. The truth? Being only a year old, Utonagan is in that awkward stage. His gate's a bit off because of his large paws. However, they do show off the amount of height he will gain as he grows older. His coat is a mismatch of different colors and patterns and hasn't been all that well kept, so he'll need a good grooming. His face is young and full of light, though his eyes give off a slight glint of mischievousness. Overall, he's a handsome looking dog with one ear that likes to flop over from time to time.

Personality Okay, so maybe his name isn't all that unique...but perhaps its because he simply had to much personality to begin with! A unique name might have just thrown him into this overly cool, egotistical swing! Then again, it could also be that his owner wasn't actually the breeder he had been born with, and gave him the name of the breed so he wouldn't forget what type of dog he actually was! So what! Obviously, his name is a source of grief for him. If he had his choice he'd be Bear, Behemoth, or have an Indian name like one dog he met on his travels...Strong as Mountain. Or perhaps Glorious Warrior of the Sun.
Needless to say, his personality is larger than life, larger than his own body for that matter. Utonagan is extremely witty and cunning, that will hopefully grow into wisdom in his coming years. His curiosity and mischievous nature tend to get him into trouble, but his heart of gold (and adorable face) usually save him when it comes to humans. As far as dogs go, he's usually more off to himself...not because he's quiet or shy but simply because a lot of other dogs tend to find him obnoxious, or over the top! He simply dances to the beat of his own drum, that usually only he can hear.
He's only had very basic training when it comes to sledding (pulling a board around as a puppy and being tethered to his siblings every now and then), but from what his various owners/traders have seen...he works well with others. Like any 1 year old pup, he's playful and adventurous. Utonagan loves a challenge, but can grow bored easily and will find something to get into (or out of) when left to his own devices.

History As usual, Utonagan is about to get ahead of himself, so before we get to far...let me rewind. Utonagan was born from a purebred line. His breeder was based in Sweden. So how did he end up in Kaono, Canada?! He was born in a litter of four. It was a small litter for his mother who had been a breeding dog for many years now. She raised them as most who had former sledding experience would...with tales of the open trails. Stories of grand mountains, beautiful snowy fields, and dangerous iced over lakes and rivers. She helped teach them about the different roles on the line and whatnot...but while all his other siblings were enthralled in her stories, Utonagan was staring off into the distance, watching the butterflies fly and the clouds drift by.
He had no care for these extravagant stories and over-the-top adventures! It wasn't that he was scared, or didn't have a thirst for excitement...he just wasn't drawn to the idea of pulling a big human behind him while staring at somebody else's butt all day. Utonagan always knew the facts of a situation before facing it, and he seemed to come to understand the ugly side of sledding before the wondrous side of it (which was the complete opposite of his fellow puppies).
At 6 months of age, he decided he wasn't going to wait around for fate to show him the way. He was going to find his own path! He didn't care where he ended up, he just wanted it to be his choice to go that way. He wanted to spin the wheel of chance, throw caution to the wind, and see what life had in store for him! It wasn't hard, one night, after the breeder went to sleep, he used his wits and wiles to conjure a way out of the pen, then the yard, and on down the road he went! And in the end...he didn't go all that far at first. He didn't make it a week before some random guy picked him up off the road (Utonagan does have a way of looking absolutely pathetic when his stomach demands food). A little living here, a little research there, a few scrambles to get away and recaptures later...and this is where you find Utonagan!f
He's still not sure how the whole continental swap thing happened. He didn't even really understand the idea of an ocean! All he knew was that Kaono simply smelled different from the last place he had woken up.
