Everyone wants to be elite, to be part of the rich and famous, the doted upon and blessed. Young boys and girls dream of trading in their average lives, and upgrading to the lives to the Elite, although what no one ever stops to think about is the actual lives of these so called upper-class, their histories, their trials, and the day to day lives they live, and how closely they match the lives of the ordinary. Stanmer Park College, has been home to the modern aristocracy for more than two centuries, accepting only the richest, and most promising of family lines. People knew who they were when they received their acceptance letter to Stanmer Park, resting blithely on the outskirts of Brighton, England, hidden from the rest of the world in a quiet town named Stanmer Park .

From nearly as long as there has been Stanmer, there has been conflict between the students and the residents of Brighton. Brighton is an easygoing town, hovering on the southern coast of Britain. Many of the inhabitants feel that Stanmer not only steals away the attention of the other two universities near by, but the students clearly look down on the residents; all from the fisherman to businessmen, no one is Elite like the students. There has never been any resolve to the conflict, and rarely have there been any loud outbursts, typically mere dirty looks, and scoffing attitudes, neither one paying much attention to the other.

But things have begun to change inside of Stanmer : with the hire of a new Headmistress of the school, a new sort of student is being accepted, scholarship students. What this means is that scouts have been sent out to high schools around the world to look for the most promising in Art, Science, Math, and English, and the most gifted are given scholarships, as well as acceptance, regardless of their background, family line, or wealth. To the prior students of Stanmer, this is an outrage, a blatant slap in the face; it is the school very plainly saying that someone average might be just as good as they are, might even be better. The new Headmistress is widely regarded as the most loved, and most hated Dean in Stanmer Park’s history of Headmasters.

No one has any idea how these two kinds of students will learn to handle each other, and how will the professors handle them? Will some have open arms? Will some shun them, and make their lives more difficult? Will some be scared into leaving? Will some of the Elites learn how to come to terms with these new students in their school? How will the citizens of Brighton feel about these new students? Who will band together against who? And how long before these flames get fanned out of control?
