born to a software tycoon and his wife who had built their company upwards from a dingy ground floor apartment to one of the tallest skyscrapers in Britain. lived, along with his younger sister, in a large mansion in London until he was five years old when his Father died suddenly of a heart attack. soon after, he and his sister were taken out of his Mother's care by his maternal grandparents so she may deal with her grief without the burden of two young children and moved into Waverly, a seventeenth century castle in the English countryside that had belonged to generations of his mother's family.

because of the castle's isolation from the rest of the public, WYATT grew up only in the company of the staff employed by his grandparents and his family and through that segregation he was influenced by no one other than these people. all social behavior and education for him and his sister were provided through his extremely old fashioned grandparents. the few parties a year that were held at Waverly and occasional trips to a small town nearby for groceries are the only real contact he had with the outside world before enrolling in Stanmer when he was seventeen.

had something of a culture shock when he was encouraged to go to college by his grandfather - who to this day happily pays for his tuition as well as any other expenses that are required to maintain his grandson's desires. expected that he would become the master of the castle once his grandfather passed away and was not expecting to ever have to leave it, nor did he want to. but once his high school education was completed his grandparents were adamant that he continue on in his studies because it pleased them to see him succeed. this year will be his final year at Stanmer as he completes a medical degree.

tries to settle all disputes in an honorable manner - once challenged another man who had been disrespecting his younger sister to a duel and then had a fist fight with him outside a holiday party at his family's manor. physical fighting is always a last resort in his opinion, as a gentleman always attempts to come to a peaceable solution through polite negotiation but no matter how it's handled a lady is never to be disgraced in his presence. much prefers conflict to be resolved through discussion than through any other outlet but has been instructed in the art of boxing for those few occasions when talking won't do the trick.

shortly after his birth he was betrothed to REXROTH by his parents who shared close friendships and business ventures in several areas with her parents. the match was technically one of convenience but also one that would consolidate the funds of two families who ranked in the top ten wealthiest in the world. after his Father's death WYATT saw her only once a year at the annual Christmas party at Waverly but the pair never formed a close friendship, just a comforting familiarity with each other's company. he, although he knows of her recent bankruptcy, is not sure that he is ready to settle down but the right words from his grandfather could change his mind all together.

believes in duty and strong moral fiber - because he was raised by his deeply religious grandparents he is very concerned with what is right and what is wrong and was told to find guidance and direction through intense study of the Bible. through this study he has become rigidly conservative and intolerant by today's standards although that's not to say that he doesn't make his own mistakes.

seems to be a cold and aloof man with a large sense of personal pride that often leads others to believe he is arrogant. has impeccable manners and always exercizes them when in public but he has a clear disdain for people who are not of the upper class despite the fact that he is never, ever outwardly rude towards them. privately his closest friends know him to be generous and family oriented with a special weakness for his younger sister and any of the very few romantic interests that he entertains. is especially lenient towards their opinion and wishes and if it doesn't offend any of his own values he is likely to do exactly what they want even if he won't say so.

speaks very formally in a way most people would describe as 'Old Worldly.' always addresses people older than him with titles of respect such as 'yes ma'am' or 'no sir' and has been known to use the words 'shall', 'thy', and 'hither' in everyday conversation.

notoriously underdressed, simple of appearance, laid-back of demeanour, rides a bike everywhere and can often be seen simply laying in the grass, usually with his head under a newspaper; he might be the last person you'd expect to see among the elite, but his family is actually among the richest in England, and of great regard in high society.

grew up surrounded by household staff, waited on at every turn, and always knew to take full advantage of it (and still does), but through the years perfected the art of appearing grateful. He never had a reputation for being a good boy among the staff, however; although his please's and thank you's were frequent and courteous, AUTENBERRY's favorite pastime was playing tricks, sometimes cruel, sometimes just obnoxious, on the staff - something his parents never corrected him for.

was the only child of a busy and professional father who had a tendency to be overly-lenient with his only son, and a doting, but rather absent and ditzy, mother who could see nothing wrong in him; they were loving parents, albeit it lacking in discipline and often in presence, but were the outcome of a marriage of convenience. Though they were always courteous toward each other, AUTENBERRY noticed the gap between them from an early age; they didn't even sleep in the same room for most of his life. AUTENBERRY is still adamant that he will never spend his life like that - he would rather live with beloved friends or even alone than with a spouse that is a stranger.

best friend of MARKOVIĆ since childhood; their mothers were, and are, close friends, and ever since they could walk, the two would wander off together at social events to go on tours of exploration, during which AUTENBERRY would often land them in trouble with his inquisitive ways - a tendency he still carries on with. There is little AUTENBERRY wouldn't do for MARKOVIĆ; he's even been his personal cheerleader at his polo matches since the day he started playing the sport.

a social elitist who shows great disregard for those of lower standing than him, especially the Stanmer scholarship students; he's mostly not concerned with their existence and prefers to ignore it, but when he does pay any notice to them, it is usually in the form of bullying he playfully chooses to classify as 'light teasing' - but he knows it's anything but.

nothing if not confident, in fact a bit cocky, and has the means to back a lot of it up; he's an astute young man who continues to show academic promise, is outgoing and witty and has a certain way with words, but his confidence still far exceeds his ability at times.

has been criticized for being flippant and careless, which is more than a little true. He has little will to put effort into most anything, and the only reason he has continued onto graduate studies is because he quite likes the student lifestyle, and because he couldn't think of anything else he wanted to do.

curiously unlucky - has notoriously bad fortune with everything he comes into contact with. has a permanent reservation in the Brighton hospital after a car accident, a fall out of a tree house, a fight (that he had no hand in starting, he had been a bystander of the innocent kind), third degree burns, and several other accidents too painful to mention.

grew up dirt poor - was the kid wearing the same old jacket and torn shoes for three years in a row. worked hard in school and forgot any attempts to have a social life in favor of getting a scholarship into a good college. is the first of his family to achieve a degree.

is a rampant Star Trek fan and goes to every convention that he is able to get to. also collects comic books and has several extremely valuable ones - ones that could be sold for an extraordinary amount of money if persuaded. the thought is highly unrealistic though as they are part of his most valuable possessions. is often tormented about this by good friend COLLINS, but is seemingly oblivious to her frequent quips about his beloved hobby.

is deathly allergic to peanuts - got a packet of them once on a red eye flight from Miami to Chicago for a convention and had his throat close completely. was only saved because a stewardess on the flight had the same allergy and injected him with her medicine.

an every man who considers himself ordinary in every respect. too kind for his own good although generally considered a charming guy and finds it difficult to say no to anyone, both friends and enemies included.

however, has a very dark, twisted sense of humor and is infatuated with the macabre. researches serial killers and horrific accidents in his free time and has never written a short story that did not end in an ironically violent way. was recommended by one of his professors to the campus therapist after disturbing a number of classmates with an especially brutal story. would be disturbed by his fascination if he wasn't so involved in it.

a completely different man when he has been drinking - and frequently does when he is writing. becomes moody, quick to anger, wild, and borderline suicidal. never remembers his behavior the morning after and is always confused when friends or family are scared or furious with him when he attempts to contact them. once incurred the wrath and continuing hatred of LIAO when he pushed him in the water while drunk; VANDERHEIN, however, does not remember the incident.

traditional when it comes to the ways women are meant to be treated by men and does his best to uphold that. believes in the friends - crushes - romantic partners cycle and doesn't like to rush it when it comes to relationships. never loses control, an almost irritating trait when the situation calls for it. sometimes makes him seem like he just doesn't care when he actually cares more than anything.

spent her very first night far from home when she arrived at Stanmer Park. until then, had lived in Dublin Ireland with her parents, a pair of very protective urban planners, and her younger brother.

was very sheltered by her parents as a child, which oft led to her becoming very frustrated, when she wasn't permitted to engage in all the activities she might've liked too. poky as a puppy, and curious as can be, she longed to see it all, to do more, and sought appeasement in books. found herself welcoming the other worlds they allowed her access to with open arms, and thus immersed herself in them.

though she's gleaned considerably more freedom since her younger years, her love for literature hasn't dwindled. has nearly made herself her own private library in her dorm room at Stanmer. has not only lined every shelf with books, but her floor is quite nearly covered with thigh-high stacks of books of all kinds. has yet to read all of these, but swears she will by the time she's turned fifty. was inspired by this love to one day become a published poet. holds this aspiration very dearly, and is therefore tickled pink to be in Stanmer Park's Creative Writing programme.

warm and friendly, though not exceedingly outright about it. generally tends to need to be the one approached when with others, but when this happens, she brightens nearly instantaneously and becomes fresh as a daisy and talkative as any other Chatty Kathy out there.

was introduced to the occult in high school by some seedy superiors, and did not take much away from the knowledge they imparted unto her. was, however, left with a sparked curiosity with regards to tarot cards. since then, has learnt to read them and considers herself to be moderately good at it. doesn't broadcast this to people, but never declines a request for a reading either.

could best be described as hopeful and trusting : most always prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt, and often finds herself being had because of this. despite this, is quite prone to somewhat catty jealousy when it comes to those she's close to. is displeased with herself for this and makes a great effort to temper this sentiment, but still experiences difficulty in doing so.

a very consistent gum-chewer. at any given time, will have at least two different varieties of bubblegum on her person, her favourite being sour raspberry, but strawberry being a suitable alternative. while not ostentatious about her chewing, still feels the need to chew discretely, claiming this helps her to concentrate.

only child of a renowned, talented and highly eccentric classical musician and his strict socialite wife, the latter a member of a well-respected English upper-class family with military ties. his mother served as the head of the household, with constant criticism of MARKOVIĆ's absent-minded father, who she always claimed had been an unfit match for her. MARKOVIĆ was always more fond of his mother, and over the years adopted her critical opinions of his fater, despite retaining a great deal of affection for the man.

is often on the receiving end of his mother's criticism, and always tries to live up to her demands and expectations. he has the highest regard for his mother, and is almost afraid of disappointing her, which has lead him to always pursue the paths she wanted him to. he considered joining the military when he was younger, but due to his mother's ill feelings towards this carreer path after a lifetime of subjection to it, he opted for her suggestions instead, and chose to go to university. he remains there still because it is her wish that he get a proper education.

extremely critical of his fellow man, especially those of lesser means, and only rarely comes across anyone new he feels he can tolerate - liking people is even rarer, as he has a tendency to actively seek out people's flaws, and then solely focus on these. he is also vocal with his criticism, much like his mother, and has trouble holding back once he feels he has something worth saying about another person - and he feels that most things he has to say are worth saying.

best friend of AUTENBERRY since childhood through mothers who were extremely close. MARKOVIĆ would often serve as a more calm and careful counterpart to AUTENBERRY, but nonetheless has gone along with almost everything he's suggested, often landing himself in a world of trouble, which he then usually trusts AUTENBERRY to get them out of, as he himself often has trouble dealing with unforeseen problems, and is only spontaneous through his friend's influence.

is a stickler for order, hygiene and good appearance, and has an almost military daily routine that leaves his room and himself tidy and in tip-top shape. he is rarely seen wearing anything other than a suit, even in the most informal situations, and often criticizes his friend AUTENBERRY for not applying the same measure - though he quite admires that he doesn't.

considers the influx of scholarship students to Stanmer to be a disgrace, and has often taken it upon himself to discuss this problem with various lecturers or administrative workers at the school. as this has been very unsuccessful, he's also been active in coming up with ways of excluding scholarship students as best he can, like promoting the practice of costly school-related events.

is an avid polo fan and an active polo-player, as well as a talented equestrian. he is extremely serious about the sport, and is known to get very involved in competition, almost to the extent of the extreme.

grew up in Worthing, in a quaint home by the sea, as the only daughter of a female heart surgeon and a male nurse. was taught by her parents from the time she was very young not to discriminate against others, nor to mindlessly accept society's stereotypes.

as a child, struggled to fit in with others, wanting not to be either a rambunctious tomboy, nor a docile girly-girl, but instead to lie at a happy medium in between them. had few friends because of this, but the ones she had, she was very close with, and frankly she preferred it that way - a trait which she carries still today.

has spent much of her life thus far taking apart various household items, from ball point pens to toasters, then poking around in their various components, only to put them back together again, slightly differently from how they were originally, in an attempt to make them function more effectively. this works out quite well half the time, and essentially destroys the item the other half. this kind of activity led her to find her true passion in life : pure physics. is currently working on her master's in this field.

headstrong and highly opinionated, she's a girl who, whether the matter at hand is her way of solving for sound intensity, or how many times you've worn your purple cardigan in the past month, will stick to her guns, no matter what. hopelessly stubborn, and extremely proud, she hates to admit she's wrong about anything, and prefers to change topic entirely rather than verbally own up to her mistakes.

has an absurdly large collection of Post-It notes in myriad colours, shapes and sizes. writes herself them for absolutely everything, and sticks them here, there, and everywhere. for example, wakes up to find a green arrow by her bedside reminding her to read pages 30-42 of her English book, and an orange star on her headboard telling her that she has to replace her toothbrush in precisely 17 days.

long-time friend of VANDERHEIN, and frequently teases him about his love of Star Trek. secretly quite enjoy it herself, and actually has quite the crush on a young William Shatner, not that she'd admit it.

fascinated by the study of dreams, and has been researching this subject thoroughly for many years. takes great pleasure in analyzing her own, and regularly attempts to coax friends into allowing her to do the same for them. also owns six different dream catchers, each one with different coloured beads, for different kinds of dreams.

has an almost irrational fear of fire, and refuses to go near it, in any way, shape or form. insists on unplugging any and all electronic devices when they aren't in use, just in case they should happen to short-circuit and catch fire somehow, and will not even strike a match or light a candle. the cause of this phobia is entirely unknown, even to her.
