[Tien Hang]

Tien had settled a lot since her expierience in the dungen. Had Valencia figured out a way to break her? She sat uncomfortably at her desk scribling down notes in her sloppy handwritting. Though her hand move, Tien wasn't hearng anything that was being said, her mind was elsewhere, as it had been the last few weeks. Her hand paused and put down the pen. Tien looked carefully at herself, what she had become. She was wearing the deplorable skirt, which she had vowed never to do, her hair was tied into a neat ponytail and overall she was very... clean. It had been a long time since she had climbed a tree or just played freely with the wind. She had lost a lot of weight, which was strange considering that she was actually showing up at meal time now. Her once muscular figure had become scrawny and weak. Her perfect posture gave way and she often walked now staring at the ground. How could she have allowed this to happen to her? How could she have given Valencia this power to destroy her...

"Ms. Hang.... Ms. Hang are you paying attention?" The teacher seemed angry.
Tien shook her head, "Yes ma'am, sorry" Her words seemed distant and foreign, even her accent had faded. She lifted her pen and begin to write notes again, counting the seconds until class was over.

BIC:

"Ms. Hang.... Ms. Hang are you paying attention?" The teacher was yelling at Tien because she was not paying attention. She must be thinking about something real hard to miss this lesson, this crap is hard. She does look scrawnier though. . . . hmm. . . . Leon was thinking to himself looking at Tien, she disappeared off of the grid for awhile. He had to admit he missed the cheery girl he once met in the fields out on the campus. Leon then looked at the clock five minutes until the class ended.

Leon wanted to see if she was doing anything after class so he started to communicate with her telepathlically. "Hey Tien, its me Leon, I'm to your left and back two places. Where have you been, just think your answers and I'll know whats your saying."

[Tien Hang]

Tien quickely snapped out of her listless stupor. There was a voice in her head... but it wasn't hers. Leon it said.... of course Leon, was she crazy or was this for real, Leon wasn't even an air elemental. Tien wouldn't risk turning around to see if Leon was truly behind her or if it was her own wandering thoughts. She figured that she would go along with it. The worst thing that could happen is that she would just get lost in her own thoughts.

"Alright, I guess, and yourself?" Even her thoughts seemed distant, for the first time she heard her own voice without her accent. It frightened her a bit. It felt like she had lost a part of herself. Tien also was not used to lying to a friend. It wasn't a big lie... but it still didn't feel good. She did her best to keep all of her other thoughts silenced, fearful of if Leon was listening, what he could see, but the harder Tien tried to distant those thoughts the more they crowded her mind.

Suddenly as if trance Tien's eyes clouded with darkness. She heard Joey's voice calling out to her, pangs of hunger and utter exhaustion filled her small frame as her wrist screamed with pain and her hand went numb. Tien tried to fight the memory, tried to hide it. She turned to face Leon, her vision blurred but returning, she saw his face and hoped he didn't see what she saw. Tien burried her head in elbows and took, steady even breath to calm herself. She silently hummed the tune of Vietnamese children's song to quiet her mind and waited, hoping Leon was still a figment of her imagination.

[Leon Solaris]

"Alright, I guess, and yourself?" said Tien's voice. Even in her mind it seemed as if it had been "localized". Her accent seemed as if it was gone and she seemed down. "You don't seem fine Tien, me ;however, I'm doing fine."
Suddenly it felt as if her thoughts were becoming overcrowded with thoughts of the past. It was a painful occurence in her mind, she turned towards Leon. She had the eyes of someone in a painful trance.

It was only 3 more minutes until the bell ended. The minute of all those flashbacks and while Leon was in her mind felt like months of pain being unleashed. He was thankful for his strong resolve so he beared through all of it. "Mr. Solaris!" the teacher yelled for his attention, "Are you still paying attention? What's with everyone today?" Leon quickly snapped to attention and gave the teacher the correct answer. The material to him was easy and he understoodall the aspects of the Air Elemental

"Tien do we need to talk after class? I'll treat you to lunch in one of our fine lunch halls" Leon said telepathically with a sense of joking with his voice.

[Tien Hang]

Tien heard Leon's voice still speaking to her, but she kept her head burried and her thoughts supressed. She didn't like that someone else was in her mind but didn't want to offend Leon by saying that, but she also didn't want to think it because she wasn't sure what thoughts he could pick up, she hoped he didn't pick up that one. Tien's mind was screaming to her, over the hums, just say yes, just say it, if you can't trust Leon, who can you trust? Tien lifted her head and it kind of fell into a weak nod. The teacher was making her final points and most of the class was throwing their notebooks into their bags. Tien packed up her own belongings, her hands quivering slightly, but her movements were slow and controlled. She practically held her breath those last two minutes, but finally the bell rang. Her first instinct was to just run back to her dorm and hide under her bed, but her body didn't seem to cooperate. She lifted her bag and slung it over her shoulder, turned and nodded sightly to Leon as if to say a combination of 'let's go' and 'let's just get this over with'.

[Leon Solaris]

Leon saw Tien nod, and while the teacher was still writing and everyone was packing, Leon finished the last of the notes and started to pack. As the bell rang he stood up and slung his bag over his shoulder and saw Tiens nod. Leon smiled politely and then walked out the door behind Tien. He walked slowly beside her it was awhile before his next class and it was lunch time anyways.

"Well, how's life? And. . . . well you look skinnier than before." Leon said playfully and smiled "No offence meant, sorry but would you like to get some chow?" Leon asked trying to be polilte. He kept walking with her through the halls avoiding people while trying to walk next to her and talk at the same time.

Tien walked briskly with her head down. She paused every few moments as to not lose Leon. Part of her was bursting to speak to someone, but on the other hand, part of her only wanted to withdraw and be left alone.

"Life's great!" Tien commented sarcastically. Of course she was skinnier then before. She was always skinny, but she didn't have the muscle anymore. The feeling of hunger made her sick, so she never let herself get to that point. "Yeah, lunch sounds good, do you know what they're serving today?" Tien kept the conversation light on purpose. She was scared that once she really got into what was going on, she wasn't going to be able to stop.

[Leon Solaris]

"Life's great!" Tien said, but Leon wasn't blind he could sense the sarcasm in her voice. It was obvious that she looked scrawny to him, which was also another reason he was taking her to get food. "Yeah, lunch sounds good, do you know what they're serving today?" Tien said. "Honestly I don't have the slightest clue" Leon said with a smile. "But let's still go check it out."

They neared the entrance of the cafeteria, and Leon pushed open the door and held it for Tien. They walked inside and looked around Leon got close to Tien and pointed out. "Well we got some bad crap over there, some dirtier stuff over there, and here we have something that looks like a bloated weasel." Leon said with a laugh. "Choose your pick, i'll go with you." Leon smiled as he made his offer.
