Offical RP idea thread, Because we need one damnit!

Okay this is the OFFICAL discusion thread for RP ideas...

When someone is talking about someone's idea try to mentaion the RP idea in question before hand, like at the top so we don't get confused.

So, uh, does this mean we're not going to do the "New SSSRP" that we talked about (and that incidentally I already started a fic thread for >.>)?

Well no, we still have that planed, just a good half of the peoplee who wanted to get involved with that either left the chat, or droped off the face of the earth entirely.

if it was canceled the section would of been locked.

Okay heres an idea

Name: The Fanboys
Genre: Superheroic/Anime/Modern

Details: The basic priciple is that durring the early 21st century, A company in japan expermenting with a new form of energy, not unlike that of the ff7 lifestream, fucked up and caused a massive amount of this energy to flood all over the earth in an ever expanding chain reaction, there were many deaths, mostly elderly and the very very young, but the other 99% of the population was aparently unharmed by the event...

Less than a year later, some people started changing, the first was a bank robber who had inspired his "look" by anime, he was faster, stronger, and was able to use his guns better than anyone at the time. As more people started awakening to this new strengh, many took after the first, and started taking the anime style motiff to heart...

Now five years later, HEB (hyper evolved beings), Aka "Otaku" as they call themselves, Are now seen by many as either a threat, or a blessing. depending on who you talk to.

(I'll expand this out later)

Expanded edit: Okay, basically the nature of the Players in it, is that there basically one of these HEB's, as in there not entirely human anymore, they still look normal, and can live normal lives, but many would choose to keep there gifts hidden because frankly, people get scared by the idea of superbeings in Anime costumes running around.

I got a few ideas for super generic templates, obviously they don't have to be followed but it will give you an idea about what the power scale is.

Martial artists: "Oh really, I can't punch that car in half, well WATCH THIS!"
Ninja's: "I am the shadows, silent and deadly"
Big Fellas: "Ever see someone throw a Compact car half a block?... You want to?"
Psion: "Before you even ask nerd, No I won't go out with you"
Mages: "Fireball Fireball!"
Techies: "Nice pc, I'm wearing mine!"
Sailor scouts: "In the name of the moon yada yada yada"
Gun bunnies: "Bitch I *am* Bullet proof"

That was just a few idea's I had pop to mind coming up with stuff.... It should be noted that while yes there are allot of them, every human alive was affected to at least a trivial level, like maybe the eruption solved a genetic baldness problem in the family line or something, it's just that few people will ever realize they were changed as a result.

Now my little quibble, while small and easily ignored by myself, is just why they're turning themselves into anime character wannabes.

I mean, this post gives one almost no reason for it. Was it a side-effect of this energy? Were they all just paranoid that they'd lose their powers without it? It seems to one, from a standpoint like mine, that not all of them would take on this notion of dressing up... or at least choose varying sources rather than all the same genre.

Just a thought.

It was basicly the first person to demonstrate any real powers, dressed like that durring bank roberies, the few that came later mimic'd that notion, till eventualy it kinda became a sort of subculture, and easy way to identify each other. Obviousy the don't dress that way all the time.

So if this is a subculture... would there not be other such subcultures among them? If so, I must say, I'd like to hear of them to help flesh out this world and new... subrace, I'll say.

Well I have not really worked that far on it, I'd imagine diffrent groups would dress diffrently, there probly would be some group off doing there own thing that dresses like disney characters for all we know, Or they just dress normaly. It's really dependent on where your looking for them at. the Anime thing is the common trend at the time the Rp takes place though.

Ah, thank you for that... I suppose I'll take that into consideration, if I wind up deciding if I should maybe join this rp if and when it happens.

Oh one rule in effect is *NO* directly ripping of an anime character, Inspired maybe, rip offs are a nono.

Name: Mystic Lands (very VERY tentative title)
Genre: DnD-ish, Champions of Norrath, that sort of thing

Details: there are a few major races in this universe:

Elves: honorable, not physically strong, but nimble. Good eyesight, accuracy, quickness. Traditionally taught good morals. Immortal but not invincible, making age impossible to determine, unless recorded.

Dark Elves: Barbaric. nimble, like there Elven counterparts, but also strong and aggressive. Though, even within their homeland, they live on kill-or-be-killed instincts, they will unite if their home is in danger. It is very possible find DEs in other parts of the world, but they are ones that usually keep to themselves and don't endanger anyone unnecessarily, even though they are often hunted by those that still live in the "homeland." Immortal under the same basis of elves.

Humans: Often varies in beliefs and physical abilities. They excel in mechanical equipment, armor and weaponry. Can be found all over the place, though rare if an area is predominantly Elven or Dark elven.

Dwarves: Short (duh), but aggresive and strong. Unlike humans, they can only be found in mountain regions. They keep to themselves mostly, constantly mining and working. There past time, and ruling methods are unknown (I'll let others play around with that).

Short history: Allied with the western Elven kingdom of Kelethin (tentative name), the Central kingdom of Dorosh (human based), only recently won a bloody war against the Southern Dark Elves of Mulakis. After the defensive war ended, some dark elf soldiers decided to travel around the world, free from their own lands, while the rest betrayed and murdered their king, Kunlark. Reasons unknown

The current Mulakis king, Denorus, is now trying to unify the country. The other two kingdoms now live in peace, but something dark is brewing to the east...

Look toward the east, you'll only see mountains. But beyond, an army, known as the Legacy, is growing vast. Little is known as to their intentions, but those who have travelled there either never returned or died right after giving reports. It is now difficult to find someone willing to go there. That and it is rumored that they've recently left a few villages to dust. Even the mercenaries avoid those jobs.

You may use whatever ever race you wish. And you may have characters affected by the war or some other event...

Some rules:
1. keep the f**king half-elves to a minimum. PLEASE! No genocide history of HEs either. Some discrimination is ok, but NOT annihalation.
2. I will allow RPing a king of one of the Kingdoms I mentioned ONLY if you talk to me first.

(Note: most names are tentative, but will probably remain out of simplicity)

Sevral questions about your idea Franco..

1.) Whats the policy on magical items, are they the incredibly rare items of power that are held by god kings, and just having one gives one the power to reforge the kingdom with it's power? or are they like DnD's "I found a +1 sword in my crackerjacks" kind?

2.) Magic, What kinda of magic's are there? clerical, Infernal, Wizzardy?

3.) How do other races see each other, how about Diety worship? Are there diffrent political factions at work at any given time?

Wizardry of all forms is practiced among all races except for the dwarfs, though not impossible. It takes more time to master the art as a human and a dwarf, and it is common for an Elf or Dark Elf to be born with Magical powers from heredity (if an ancestor mastered wizardry and such).

For humans, Clerics typically learn the art of healing. Mages used for combat often use fire and such to take out enemies. There are soldiers that use magic as well as brute force. Humans tend to run low on magic power fast than either elven race, but they can still carry an effecient amount.

In terms of enhancing magic power through items, it is rare but not impossible. It usually takes a rare stone material, none as Neutris. First it must be carved into a shape that the user desires (ring, necklace, etc.), then, through a ritual (that is recommended to be done by elves, but can be done by humans) must come in contact with an element (Fire, Water...) or a piece of armor or weaponry to decide what it enhances.

In religion, the whole area worships multiple gods (like greek gods), but among races, some gods are praised more that others:

Humans: Crafts, Strategy, Creation
Elves: Wisdom, Water, Creation
Dark Elves: War, Fire, Underworld
Dwarves: Crafts, Earth
(these may change a bit if suggested)
All races use a type of sanctuary for worship.

I was asked to explain a little bit more about the the world I've been developing, so here's a little bit more on Mystic Lands:

All races will have unique magic (magic that can't be used by anyother race):

Elves: Since they focus on archery and quickness, they have the ability to change small wooden sticks into arrows (though not steeled tipped or anything of great quality, but moreorless usable). They can also communicate to animals, if the animal itself is willing to listen.

Dark Elves: They can use a technique called Shadow Step (basically teleporting to a short distance, leaving dark mist as an after effect). They can also cast darkness on anyone temporarily. Being a race of war, they are able to use their ancestral spirits to give them strength.

Humans: For the most part, Humans are more knowledgable about machinery and forge. (I'll think of something else for humans later).

Dwarves: They can control the ground or certain plants in a certain area.
