You just set it off - pull the pin out and squeeze the trigger. Fire extinguishers were widely used in italian curve back in the 70s and early 80s.

Gufo (nickname of the lad that passed away), now you are up there but for us you are and always will be here (meaning with them in spirit in the curva) ... bye old ultra.

The arrested guy is finally FREE!

that's the bloke who made the 'fashionable' roman salute in the piccadilly circus foto.

a tottenham source said they had about 100 lads who arrived at the stadium without tickets under a heavy police escort.

not too bad for a friendly.

Che gruppo is that of Roma in Tottenham?

AG 98 - August 13, 2008 09:42 AM (GMT)
non lo so per certo ma penso un misto, in gran parte quelli della tribuna tevere.

it's goliardico, the new breed of 'casuals' in italy don't give a fuck about the "no alla calcio moderno" campaign.

why should they, what's in the past is in the past. it's time to look to the future.

Looks like good numbers of Roma at Tottenham, especially for a friendly. It doesnt look like your average London based italians either.....

AG 98 - August 13, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
no it was their lads, about 100 strong. less than they took to upton park but still decent enough for a pre-season.

they look the part but they are largely untested, would like to see how they would fair against a decent 50 brits. sadly they've come at least ten years too late.

C212 - August 13, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
Just wondering, how many teams in Italy have groups that have went down the casual route instead of the usual ultras game?

Lazio and Roma obviously but anyone else?

And any of these groups worth talkin about? I know AG98 says they're largely untested but what about at home on Italian soil?

Cheers for any info.

I can fully see your point for a visit to the UK, but what about when the shoe is on the other foot - say Spurs come to Roma........even in todays climate you'd fully expect a bit of pugilism and more with that fixture. When you take the numerous incidents home and away when Roma played United - maybe theres still a hardy few breathing fire into it when literally push comes to shove. I'd say theres still a few clubs in the UK that if you bring a mob and present yourself, like Roma did in the CL game, then there'll always be that element that will come looking for them.
