APOEL NICOSIA - OMONIA NICOSIA

When you see the honours list it shows that these are by far the two most successful clubs in Cyprus. There are some political differences between the clubs: Apoel respresents the political right while Omonia is more left wing orientated.

(around 3% of the population of Cyprus is at the stadium to watch this game)

Both teams have good ultras & tifos & both play at the same stadium, the GSP Stadium.

APOEL Vs omonia 1 - 0 :.

What a feeling…Humiliating the green rabbit, giving it the kiss of death, placing the last nail on the coffin, things can not get much better than this. Watching the green/red losers on the North stand wishing they were born APOEL is the best feeling we can get. Consistently over the years they have managed to create one of the worst football teams and of course this downfall is evident among the fans who dream of bringing change through some ridiculous demonstration outside the stadium. God have mercy for these fools, it is about time they realise that it is Akel that decides their future and no one else. As APOEL fans we can only wish that the current Board President (Serafim the Great) maintains his post as long as possible.

Last night’s game was APOEL all the way. Our players were passionate, confident and determined not to allow their opponents to create any sort of chances. Things of course became much easier with Vlakou on the pitch. We took the lead on the 15th minute thanks to a Makrides penalty, rightfully awarded by the referee after Ze Carlos was clearly brought down in the penalty area. Having taken the lead, the team was in control of the game and if more careful a second goal could have been scored. Overall not many chances were created and the fans had to settle for a poor quality game but at the end of the day who gives a shit about the quality football when you beat your arch-rival and push them down to the sixth place of the league.

Regarding the supporters on the stands, this is where it gets even more exciting. Our Pan.Sy.Fi brothers created an unprecedented atmosphere and inspired both the players and all 11,000 APOEL fans on the stands to sing throughout the game. Unbelievable with such fans its difficult to lose!!
