Isn't Gaelic football the biggest sport in Ireland?
Cause they have a hell of a lot supporters on that pics :D
Dub ultra - January 11, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
I would say that it is 50/50. But the reason why the attendances are not as big in football is because 90% of football "fans" in Ireland "support" English teams. I hate these people. :anger

The others try to be like them but they are not as good. ;)
Also being the capital city of the country gives them naturally more fans.

There are 32 teams. Only one team from every county so Dublin only have one team.
Normally it would be a different type of fan that would go to gaelic football and football but that terrace in the pictures (called Hill 16) would contain a lot of football fans and that is why the atmosphere is so good.

All Gaeic Football fans (including Dublin fans) are terrible. The Hill is shocking for the amount on it. They have one song, they only go to the big games and are right out of the same book as the paddywaggon.

Doesn't bother me to much as it's Rugby and Ulster Rugby has shown that both communities can get along but im against it for the Football.
I seen republican Sinn Fein had a Protest outside the match and this clueless twat turned up. Oh the Irony :uhuh

I was in Hamburg and the London Pub was full of Irish Rugger fans and they where a great punch. Was also good that they hammered England B) :beer

I'll have a root, you got connections there? Where bouts if so?
Irish Ultra - April 5, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
Searching for ages last night for Kildare, and any other team, but pictures of GAA fans seem to be quite hard to come across. Here's the best I could find, Cavan fans.

Cork (they're not right wing! well maybe they are.)

Support Westmeath :D
My dad is from Mullingar, Westmeath and my mam is from Dublin. AlthoughI was born in Dublin and lived all my life here I was brought up by my dad supporting Westmeath.

Would be great to see that amount of people suporting the eircom league teams.
The reason none of the dublin teams can gather up that amount of fans is beacause there are 6 eircom league clubs in dublin.
Noogie - August 27, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
not strictly on topic But...
is there much of a difference between galic football crowds and hurling crowds? and which sport is more popular?
also; do you have any shots of Kerry fans? i have family from there
