For all who are connected with Górnik there is a difficult time of a fight for this what for many fans is the most important, sacred and what should be unchangeable – the name of own club. One way of the fight, which we undertook, is collecting signatures under the following petition as much as possible. The situation, which we got to be in, we don’t wish the biggest enemies, so we count on your support in the teeth of club animosity.

We, undersigned, supporters and sports fans express our objection to the replacement of the sports club name “Górnik £êczna” with “GKS Bogdanka S.A.” The attempt of intrusion in 31-year-old tradition of the club, which is known in the whole country, is completely incomprehensible for us. For years sports club from £êczna is associated with the best mine in the country. The action, which aims to the complete change of the name is utterly incomprehensible and hits at the image of one of the biggest listed company. We suppose that such a serious company will not repeat mistakes of other enterprises which did not gain any calculable benefits after intrusion in a name. Therefore, the replacement of the name with “GKS Bogdanka” is a blow to both supporters of GÓRNIK £ÊCZNA and us – fans from whole Poland, who are in pain because of such actions.
