Could anyone explain the reason of the reaction against the cup (la coupe de la ligue)?

Is it the traditional french cup or another competition?

Are the ultras of Bordeaux (Nancy-Bordeaux) boycotting the game by leaving?

What is the meaning of the banners in the game Guingamp-Rennes?

in france , there is 3 competitions: 2 cups(1 cup of france, and 1 cup of the league), and the championship.

Since several years, ultras from france decided to protest against the cup of league:
-cup reserved only for clubs of league 1 and league 2, and if you win the cup of league, you win more money than cup of france, and you win a place of uefa cup.
-Cup of league was created since 1994, but since 2006, league of football decided to promote more this cup of business than the cup of france.Indeed now, if you finish in the first five of championship, you start the cup of league in 8th final(so, you have just 3 matchs to win in order to go in final cup).
-Actually, ultras and normal fans desert this cup of league(just for example,last year,sainte-om in cup of league play in front of 13 500 spectators only).


Thiriez is the president of the france league, and it's him who re organized this cup of league in business.

nancy-bordeaux: ultras boycott the match
guingamp-rennes: banner is: the football is not a business.
sainte-nice: all the banners speak about this too.

Could you also explain in english the banners of ultras Rennes? The one says "Football is not merchandise" but i don't figure out what the others say.

One last question:
Why do you even go to these games since you hate la coupe de la ligue? Just don't go. I think it would be more powerful if the stands where empty with only one insulting banner.

concerning your last question:

it's difficult that all the people dont go to the stadium,because all the stadium are not ultras or are not angry with mentality ultras.

In the past, one insulting banner is proposed concerning all the match of the cup of league, and a boycott total is organized,but all the stadium are not enough empty.So the year after, every groups ultras decide to protest by their own means(banner,insulting song,other decide to let a part empty).
