QUOTE
Repeal "UNCoESB"
A proposal to repeal a previously passed resolution

Category: Repeal
Resolution: #119
Proposed by: Oppresionism

Description: UN Resolution #119: UNCoESB (Category: Environmental; Industry Affected: All Businesses) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: its time for these hippies to realise that man is the dominant force on this planet.

we have to come to terms with darwinism - survival of the fittest

adaptable animals are the ones that make it in this world (dogs, cats, pigions) ones that wont adapt (pandas, dodos, geeks) they are the ones endangered or extinct

we should not therefore be upsetting the balance of nature by trying to force these animals to live on

we should now fight to allow the animals that thrive in our world a chance at attention and care - rather than devoting our time to a bunch of wimpy animas that are about to die out.

Approvals: 4 (NeoAsiaEuropa, Ghost_Goth, WZ Forums, Caer Rialis)

Status: Lacking Support (requires 127 more approvals)

Voting Ends: Tue Sep 6 2005

The Hibernian Kingdom of Venerable libertarians has not approved this proposal. [Approve]

I wont be approving this!

Well, geeks are making a killing in the IT market. I would say they are quite well adapted.

Hey Bob! It appears i am getting there, There are now two repeals!
I Dont get how they are trying to repeal it on a national sovereignty issue, as it is only an article 7 event where the UN Fully enters the fray and lays down some Law! Up to that it is controlled by the individual nations under a decree of the UN

I would'nt worry too much about it. If we couldn't get rid of that stupid dolphin resolution, I am more than confident UNCoESB is safe.

These kneejerk repeal attempts seem to happen to most resolutions after they pass. It took Civilian Rights Post War 4 or 5 days to get onto the passed resolutions list and as soon as it did, there were two repeal attempts against it as well. Neither got much support and there haven't been anymore since (that I've noticed).

There was one determined opponant though who tried to gather support for a repeal and his own replacement (which protected soldiers, not civilians) in a thread on jolt before the bloody thing had even passed :D.

Oh, Dont you worry about 106! i have my repeal sights firmly set on 106 and 70 and you can expect a launch this week end.
Both are IMO now redundant because of the UNCoESB. I expect some heavy anti repeal flak from the UN fluffies but hopefully we can find enough reasonable folk out there to see these through.

I have my fingers crossed and hope both repeals succeed. After the last attempt to repeal the dolphin thing though, I'm sure you'll understand that I'm not 100% confident.

I'll support the repeals in any way I can :).
