As I mentioned round these parts a few days ago, this is a project that's been lurking in the back of my mind for a while now, and I guess it's as good a time as any to actually start working on it for real.

The idea is to compile a guide to the more obscure Goodies jokes, for the benefit of whippersnappers and foreigners who won't 'get' the 70s cultural references.

(ie... Beanstalk, when Cricklewood is "playing the joker" - before I heard the commentary I had no idea that face belonged to Britian's then-current Prime Minister. But it does make the joke a bit less weird and more funny if you know that.)

As Urban Spacegirl and Completely Moved proved with the "Maynard?" enquiry a few days ago, it's amazing what a short burst of Googling and Wikipedia-ing will uncover.

So, who's interested in taking part?

I can try! I'll probably be the one with the questions for you lot to work out, as I'm only a young 'un, but I'd love to help.

Hey guys,

Just letting you know this project isn't dead - it's just on hold right now due to my life becoming a bit consumed with health, house and hip pocket. Give me another week or two to sort myself out and we should be back to something approaching normal transmission here on the Lemon Sherbert Planet.

I'm fairly good at obscurity, although usually I'm the one asking the obscure questions...

I'll help if I can.
