Hi all!

Thought I'd start a topic now Tim and Graeme's burst of Sydney shows have come to an end, mainly to give the lucky Aussie Gibboneers who attented the opportunity to tell the rest of us about it. I know I for one am very interested in the Good Ole Country Music finale! w00tbrows.gif

I'll also share the related bits of Aussie Goodies-related media we've spotted along the way...

* Tim and Graeme interviewed on Triple J Breakfast Radio (thanks Jenny Gibbon for the find)

* A short interview with Tim and Graeme in the Sydney Morning Herald - including photo

* Tim and Graeme video interview on Ten News, online you can view both the Broadcast Version (4 minutes) and Uncut version (12 minutes). (Thank IRL for spotting this)

* Tim and Graeme interview for Web Wombat (thanks to Sarah for sharing)

I'll update as and when we spot new things. smile.gif

Goodies Rule OK! Have finally arrived home from the Comedy Festival in Sydney this afternoon and I am here to tell you that this trip was the best graduation present EVER!!!! dancing.gif dancing.gif dancing.gif Tim and Graeme were just fantastic!!!! ( I am not bias of course wink.gif ). Their 1 hour show was on 4 times over the weekend and EVERY show was packed with standing room only. People were turning up for prime seats an hour before each show (who me.......OF COURSE). They performed in the main indoor arena which was called the Turbine Hall a drafty old building not really built with comedy festivals in mind. Like the true professionals they are T & G embraced the situation and even managing to score some excellent jokes which were reminiscent of Goodies and the Beanstalk. At one point in the second show the huge screen which was to display the selected clips packed in and stopped working. Tim, Graeme and the host Andrew Hansen (The Chaser) took it in their stride drawing on material from the extended show version as well as some very funny ad libs (of which I am hoping Liv will remind me of). The comment which sticks in my mind the most was one from Tim – whilst getting ready for the Teddy / Freddy sketch Tim was adjusting his microphone which would not stay in place – his remark, “Oh look, it keeps going down on me!” w00tbrows.gif This remark certainly elicited an exciting response from the audience. humping.gif

We were lucky enough to meet the guys after the show and as you all know they are just the most accommodating and gentlemanly gentleman. They stayed and signed autographs, chatted and dished out hugs and kisses on request. I was lucky enough to be indulged with hugs from both Tim and Graeme after each of their performances and I am extremely grateful to them for that. My husband, who has been quite ill of late, was very happy to once again get to meet the lads and of course shake Graeme’s hand (and Tim’s). My husband made me laugh when we left the building after the show because he always laughs at my adoration of Tim, well the shoe was on the other foot when he said to me with a huge smile on his face, "I just shook hands with Graeme Garden!" Isn't that just the sweetest thing!! hug.gif Meeting the guys again has really cheered us both up no end!!!! biggrin.gif

I am so glad that we got the chance to go to Sydney as we just had the best time ! I am sorry this is so long and I hope it has made at least some sense as I am just a little bit “knackered” . It is almost time for me to go to bed and dream those Goodies dreams . Aaaahhhhh .......Goodies.........

Yay! beer2beer.gif

What an excellent weekend you've had Karen, I'm so pleased you were able to go and see the show plus meet Tim and Graeme, they're certainly so wonderful and accommodating, aren't they? wub.gif

The show itself sounds wonderful and I'm pleased they reprised Teddy and Freddy - they're great! But I want to know how you possibly survived the Good Ole Country Music finale? From the little I've read it sounds great! Hope it lived up to expectations. smile.gif

I laughed out loud at Tim's "Going down on me" quip - though I have no idea what it could possibly mean.... angel3.gif

So pleased you got to see them and there were hugs aplenty - yum! hug.gif Glad to hear Mr timothyno1 got just as gooey too! laugh.gif

If you have anymore tales to share then don't hesitate to come back when you've caught up on your sleep - I for one am all ears! smile.gif

P.S. I just posted a Tim and Graeme interview in the Articles thread and, for posterity, I've also edited the first post of this thread to include it. smile.gif

Wow, you were quick to post before me! It was absolutely lovely to meet you and your husband, timothyno1.

I have a few photos to show off with my photo of giving Tim a kiss still to come from someone else who took it.

The ad-libs were very funny, and each show was slightly different to each other. I remember through that gig where Tim's falsenose just wouldn't stay on during the Teddy and Freddy sketch so he just threw it away so that cut some of that short, but it was still funny nevertheless!

I did actually film the Teddy and Freddy sketch where his nose stayed on the whole time and I filmed that performance of Good Ole Country Music as well... unfortunately it wasn't the performance that involved lots of thrusting from Tim, but it's good all the same rolleyes.gif I'll upload them to YouTube when my net's a bit faster and post them here :-)

Oh and also, I made the paper on the Sunday (the Sunday Telegraph)
Tim and Graeme said to me "YOU WERE IN THE PAPER TODAY! We were eating our breakfast this morning and you were right there!" and for the rest of the day my friend Alex and I were being called "The Lovelies" by Tim and Graeme because that was our caption in the paper

bit of a crappy pic at the moment but here's a photo I took on my phone immediately after spotting ourselves in a cafe... before I got T&G to sign it :-P

I've said it before and I'll say it again - your photos are GREAT! All of them are wonderful and I love how happy everyone looks. They're lovely. wub.gif

Oh, and you're my favourite person ever for recording Good Ole Country Music! biggrin.gif Can't wait to see it when it's up.... And the song! w00tbrows.gif

The last photo of Andrew makes me a bit excited because of the look he's giving me, but I wont go into that laugh.gif

Also a bit of trivia - Andrew had to recreate the backing track for Good Ole Country Music because Tim and Graeme didn't have their own... is there anything Andrew Hansen cannot do?!

Super pics once again - really loving the hats! Andrew is certainly one talented chap to have re-recorded the Good Ole Country Music track, he should become the Official Aussie Goody! tongue.gif

BTW I'm loving the look he's giving you, Liv, I presume you did the only thing you could do as a human being with impeccable taste and rushed the stage at once! tongue.gif

Jenny from what I read in some interviews Bill didn't record any new material but only appeared in the clips from the Goodies itself. Maybe Liv and timothyno1 can offer some more info into how they worked around his absence, mind. smile.gif

CM is correct - Bill appeared only in the original film clips from the shows. However Tim and Graeme continually made mention of his part and contribution to the success of the Goodies. The reasons for his absence was given as him being sick and I have since read that he is currently quite ill with a severe bout of depression sad.gif hug.gif . All three are true professionals and thankfully the show went on.

I tried, but my legs turned to jelly rolleyes.gif

Still trying to figure out what's going on with my clips from Good Ole Country Music, for some reason a lot of the clip is missing and the sound isn't incredibly good so I'll have a good edit and post asap!

Andrew: "These people [the Goodies] were more important than my parents!"

This line was very funny because it was true!

Andrew went on to say that as a child he and his friends would watch the Goodies and the next day perform that show in the playground. This remark made me laugh......my friends and I did something very similar.......except it was a catholic girls school and we wanted to do good things, anytime and raise money for the poor angel3.gif ....no guesses what character I was wub.gif

Liv, I have loved reading your write up laugh.gif and seeing those wonderful photos - how did you get such good ones, close-up, during the show? Am loving G's striped shirt! wub.gif What is the turquoisey bit under his shirt cuff, on the one wrist? A watch strap?

Liv, I then went on to look back at the write ups for the last tour, when you went to a show, and then the Australian book signing ( I think that was all you....) - it was great to read all your pleasure at meeting T and G. biggrin.gif They are just legends, and true gentlemen, we are so lucky to be getting these chances to chat to them and hug them! biggrin.gif wub.gif biggrin.gif

My friends and I simply just did the Funky Gibbon moves in the privacy of one of our living rooms... shameful, really hahaha

This wont be a surprise to anyone but I sat front row for each show on the island so getting photos close up were easy as hell haha. For some reason they just let you take photos through the show, they didn't at the first one in the Paramatta theatre but they would allow you at the Turbine Hall at the festival.
The turquoise strap on his arm I believe was a wrist band to show that he was a performer. I had a green one because I was just a guest.

Yeah I've been very very lucky to have met them so many times and for them to be so nice every time.

I just had a flash back to the soundcheck at the hall for the first show, Tim got out his camera and started taking photos of us! Graeme went on to take some on his phone and picked on a guy who didn't smile biggrin.gif
