Hello!
I'm Peej and I'm a Goodies fan. *sits down to applause* - Glad I've got that off my chest! I'm Peej, one of the administrators, I'm English and live in Scotland. I'm job hunting and building a website. I am also a Goodies fan. I first encountered the Goodies in 1993/4 when I was 9/10 years old and my sister bought the Goodies videos that had been released at the time. 'The Goodies and the Beanstalk' is the episode that sticks out in my mind the most when I think of that time especially the image of Graeme using the dafodil as bedside light. In fact the whole sequence of Graeme leading a high life despite being homeless and penniless; excellent stuff. At the same time as the Goodies videos, mum brought home volume 3 (it's very specific as there's an arguement between my mum and my sis as to who introduced me to the guys first)... er volume 3 of ISIHAC and I nearly died laughing. So skip forward 12/3 years and two ISIHAC shows to me joining Goodies website where I met many Goodies fans and some in the UK and my age! Yess! A fun loving group of us formed the Giddies and saw a variety of ISIHAC episodes and the Goodies stage show when it spent a successful month at the Edinburgh Fringe. After 10 shows, I was declared the Record Holder lol - I was embarrassed I only meant to go to 5 shows! Along with my fellow Giddies we have set this forum (and a website to follow) up to encourage the UK fan interest for the upcoming tour. In the meantime I am just chatting about the genii that are the Goodies and all their excellent work! Do I have to join Goodies Anonymous now? -------------------- "What's the difference between an egg, a carpet and a bit of crumpet?"

Hello!
My name is Jodes, and I, too, am a Goodies fan. I'm a bit of an oddity on this site, in that I'm an Aussie. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation repeated The Goodies through the 1980s and 90s until the master tapes wore out, so most people my age - gie or take ten years - know the show, and it's regarded very highly. So, I met The Goodies as a kids TV show. Then I 'grew up' and lost them for a few years, then wandered back into the fold with the release of the videos. I've seen both versions of the Live Show that played in Australia - with and without Bill. Go see it, if you can. You will not regret it! Jodes -------------------- |

Hello all!
My name is Jess, I'm 20, and I quite like The Goodies. It all started in March 2005 when I saw Kitten Kong and instantly fell in love with it. I was already in adoration of Tim because of 'How to Irritate People' and hearing bits and pieces about him in other Python-related thingies. I then got At Last the 1948 Show in July 2005 (confirming my Timbo adoration further) and finally The Goodies DVDs were cheap enough for me to buy in September. I haven't looked back since and in the first few months of 2006 I got the rest of the episodes. Clue and ISIRTA then came along some time in Autumn 2005 - I can't say how grateful I am for all these brilliant shows! The latter half of 2006 was a bit mental in terms of meeting Tim and Graeme, but it was well worth it every time. They're the two loveliest, funniest, kindest and cuddliest chaps ever! I'm looking forward to what 2007 will bring for the Goodies, I think it'll be a great year for them and also us fans. Hurray for the upcoming DVD and tour! Look forward to chatting with fellow Goodies fans. Jess. -------------------- |

Greetings Goodies Fans , My name is Karen and unlike Jess, I shall not be revealing my age at this point in time on the grounds I may incriminate myself
However, like Jodie I am also an oddity or should I say Aussie when the DVD's were released and the 'Goodies still alive on Stage"Show toured Australia in 2005. I have since aquired quite an extensive collection of episodes of which my children now enjoy tremendously. Can I also add that my husband and I (hmmm , that sounds like someone *cough*the Queen *cough* we all know) enjoyed the Goodies tour of Australia so much we are visiting England in April to see a couple of shows from the UK extravaganza and we can't wait - Look out Tim and Graeme here we come Cheers Karen -------------------- "I'm sure I don't know what you mean miss"

Helloooo!
I'm Carrie and I am a Goodies luster, er I mean fan! I have been lucky enough to meet Graeme and Tim (& Bill once!) on numerous occasions over the last couple of years and have even been given the nickname of 'The Minx' by Graeme and Tim - I think I scare the poor blokes! I'm a harmless loony though! I have now been a Goodies fan for just over 2 and a half years having been slightly too young to watch them first time around - what am I talking about first time around? - the only bleedin' time they've ever been on terrestrial TV in the UK! Why no repeats? Who knows, the BBC certainly haven't come up with any good reasons! Anyway, I digress....I am extremely pleased to be going to 3 dates of the upcoming Goodies tour so hopefully I'll see some of you there! Cheers Carrie x -------------------- "I go by many names"

Helloooooo everyone! As my user name suggests, I'm Liv and I'm 14 *the excitement* also, like Jodes and Karen, I am an Aussie *even more excitement*
I am creator of a Tim Brooke-Taylor fansite (she says subtly): www.brooke-taylor.piczo.com I first got interested in the goodies in late December 2004 when I bought a DVD called The Secret Policeman's Early Bits which had them performing the Funky Gibbon... For some reason, this was enough for me to go out and buy the DVDs with birthday money early the next month. Smart move Liv! since then, I've REALLY gotten more and more into the Goodies. In November of 2005 I met and then later that evening saw the Goodies perform which was the best day of my life! Anyway, I'm seeing the Goodies live in Derby with fellow member Jess in April which shall be extremely exciting - I'll finally have enough courage to hug Tim (and possibly get a kiss...........if I can survive the hug.......) Great site Giddies, keep up the great work!! (much better than GROK )Goody Wishe(s) Liv -------------------- Tim: Oooh it's like a sandwich and you're the filling!

Well it seems it's my turn to say 'hello'.
I'm Helen and I'm a Goodies fan too (I seem to be in the right place!) I can't actually remember when I first became a fan, but I remember watching them on telly (in the UK, may I add) when I was little (Yes, I am that old!! ). Since then I've always held them in great regard, but can't say I thought a lot about the series - apart from wondering when it was going to be repeated! As I grew up I discovered other things like ISIHAC, which I loved especially as it had Tim and Graeme in it. Fast forward to Christmas 2004 and a repeat of Beanstalk on channel Five. I watched it, partly with relief that it was as good as I remembered. The following year's Return of the Goodies was a delight and discussing it on a Doctor Who forum (don't ask!) someone pointed out the available DVDs and GROK, both of which I took to and my obsession has grown and grown. I did manage to see the show in Edinburgh (just) and was overawed at meeting my childhood heros, Tim and Graeme. Hopefully I'll be better by the fourth show of the forthcoming tour! -------------------- Tim: You don't look like a brazen hussy!

Hello, my little paperclips.
I am Row(ena), also frequently known as Boz-pot and The Blonde Idiot. I am 23 and have unfortunately only recently discovered The Goodies, which has now become my latest obsession...the previous one was Peter Cook and Dudley Moore (which I still love of course), in case anyone's interested. I also unfortunately know very little about The Goodies. Although wonderous GROK has informed me on a number of things, I have still only managed to see 16 episodes, on account of the BBC being a stingey arse. Hopefully one day I will manage to see more episodes. In addition, Tim Brooke-Taylor has taken the highly valued and coveted position of My Latest Crush. Although I am currently in my final year at Birmingham University (studying Music and specialising in singing), my actual home is up in Yorkshire, Bradford to be precise, hence the fact that I shall be attending the Goodies Stilll Rule Ok! show there during my Easter holiday. If anyone else here, or on GROK, or for that matter on the Facebook Goodies group, is going to be in Bradford for that night, perhaps we should all band together and attempt to meet Tim and Graeme at the end (if that's actually possible of course). Believe it or not, I would probably be far too shy to go by myself. Ooh, I rather enjoyed writing all that! P.S. I met Bill at a Birdwatching type thing in Leeds about 13 years ago but at the time I didn't know anything about his comedy career. Plus I was only about 10 at the time so I think the event was wasted on me somewhat. -------------------- Little - Pieces - Of - Knees...

Hello Pdaitabird, welcome aboard!
As for 'big hugs' - from some of the reports from fans who've met Tim and Graeme, that's quite possible... -------------------- |
