Admin's Game Update Log4-22-2008
- Drivers are no longer allowed to delete endorsements once they are purchased. Deleting an endorsement serves no benefit in-game and a number of users have accidentally deleted them. Endorsements will only be removed from your driver once they automaticlaly expire over time.
4-3-2008
- Players will notice when they login to the game a notice regarding an update to the website terms and condtions. Don't worry, we're not planning on shutting down or resetting the game. The most important change is how we are notifying users of such changes to the terms and conditions. (the notice that you saw in-game) If you click the link to review the terms and conditions the notice on the login and driver display screens will go away. Moving forward this will be the procedure whenever an update is made to the website terms and conditions.
3-31-2008
- Added tire chains as a purchasable item. This item is effective in reducing bad weather accidents and increasing bad weather driving speed.
- Added a Lowboy Endorsement which requires a 100 driver rating and $100,000 to purchase.
3-27-2008
- Added a number of additional trucks to the game. The images for the famous 1977 Mack RS700L and the 1960 Peterbilt 281 are used with permission from Dan Bruno, the owner of the trucks.
3-25-2008
- Added 7 European trucks to the game that are only available to European Drivers. 13 pre-existing trucks have been set to North American drivers only. All other trucks (2004 and older) are available to any driver in the game regardless of what continent they are on. If you would like to see more European trucks added to the game please post your suggestions in the format that Scarab posted
here. (Keep with the in-game image dimensions please)
- Drivers may now deposit more than $100,000 into the bank. However interest will only be added to the first $100,000 in the bank.
3-23-3008
- The stock system in the game is in the process of being removed. There are a number of issues with the stock system and the decision has been made to remove it entirely and refund players their money in stocks up to $50,000.
- The stock system has now been removed from the game.
2-8-2008
- Added total miles logged and total tons hauled for the entire game in the game statistics screen.
- Added a spreadsheet to the city distance calculator that will list all of the cities on a continent. The spreadsheet has icons that if you hover over with your mouse will tell you the supply cargos of the starting city and the demand cargos of the destination city. A green checkbox

beside a destination city will indicate a cargo connection. (Supply City to Demand City)
1-27-2008
- Added a new item to the game. Drivers can now purchase a +50 gallon fuel tank for their truck.
- Adjusted the expiration dates on a number of the items in the game.
1-24-2008
- Drivers who are hauling Nuclear or Hazardous Waste and crash due to falling asleep at the wheel or driving too fast in bad weather conditions will now lose 1.0 driver rating points rather than 0.5 driving rating points.
1-19-2008
- Provided the ability for players to turn on or off the route dashboard graphics. To turn on or off the graphics visit the 'Edit My Driver' screen.
1-17-2008
- We have developed a new route dashboard screen with a fresh new design, functional gauges and dash lights, and GPS navigation. With the purchase of a GPS Navigation item for your driver players can now see on the map where their truck is located during their routes. If you experience any errors with this update please report the issue in the bug reports section of the forums.
New Dashboard Features:
- A true graphic of a dashboard
- Navigation to see where you are in your trip if you own GPS Navigation.
- Speedometer that actually shows the true last speed your were driving, not rounded.
- Headlights indicator turns on when driving between 7pm and 7am central time in real life.
- Oil light comes on with truck mechanical problems.
- Turbo light comes on if you have one of the turbo products.
- Fog light indicator turns on if you have fog lights and are driving in harsh weather conditions.
- Radar detector appears on dash if you own a radar detector. It is animated.
- CB appears on dash if you own a CB.
- Hazards blink if you run out of gas, break down, get in wreck, etc.
- Fuel light comes on if you are below 20% tank.
- Leg success message has been added to lower confusion for new drivers.
- Messages have been designed to stand out more.
- Country now appears on Origin & Destination with city.
1-15-08
- Added two new items to the game, Low Gear Ratio and High Gear Ratio. See the item purchase screen in-game for details. [Moderator's note: these items affect your truck's load limit (see the 1-12-08 update below),
not the legal limit.]
1-12-08
- Truck load limits have been added to the game and the route selection screen has been updated to allow players to key in the weight that they want to haul rather than selecting the number from a drop down box. All grandfathered trucks in the game have been given a high load limit. All new truck purchases moving forward will use the indicated load limit for trucks as detailed on the truck purchase screen. Keep in mind that a trucks load limit and your drivers legal load limit are two seperate things.
1-11-08
- Added a donation offer in the game. To donate for your driver or another driver in the game click on the

icon next to the drivers name in the driver display page and then follow the instructions from there. For those familiar with my other website Cyber Nations the Trukz donation system works identical to the Cyber Nations donation system.
- Modified the Trukz website terms and conditions to add clauses regarding donations towards the game.
- The in-game link offer bonus has been reduced from $2,000 to $1,000 extra driver money. (With the donation offer I felt it necessary to lower the link offer bonus so that there's not so much free money floating around in the game)
1-7-08
- The Monday and Thursday random cargo update has been moved from 12:00 AM game time to 1:00 AM game time. The previous setting was interfereing with other scheduled items that run at 12:00 AM which was causing errors with the cargo not updating properly.
1-5-08
- European drivers will pay a slightly higer price for fuel compared to North American drivers. The increase amounts to a 5% difference between the two continents.
1-3-08
- Added a couple of additional trucks to the game and adjusted a number of the existing trucks in the truck lot for better game balance. New player guides will probably have to be adjusted to reflect this change. Already owned trucks are not affected by today's update. Only trucks purchased at the truck lot moving forward are affected.
- Speed limits in the game were once generated up to 70mph. This number has been increased to 80mph.
- Drivers in Europe will now pay a slightly higher price for fuel than drivers in North America.
12-30-07
- A flight cost calculator is now available in the game statistics section of the website.
12-24-07
- From this point forward the low bidder driver name on all contracts will be available by hovering your mouse over the little user icon next to the low bidding company name. This will help company managers determine who placed the low bid on a contract. All contracts that have been awarded up to this point will indicate "Data Not Available" because this data will only be collected moving forward.
12-14-07
- The CB Radio has been moved to its own seperate screen in-game. To access the CB radio click the

icon in either your driver display screen or route dashboard screen. This was a game performance update.
- Added 60 new CB radio channels for a total of 100.
12-13-07
- Drivers are now able to move their driver, via an airline ticket, to the continent of Europe. In order to move to another continent drivers will have to 1) sell your current truck 2) have enough money to buy an airline ticket and 3) have enough money to purchase another truck once you arrive (trucks cannot be shipped overseas for you).
- The company display screen that showed all members at the bottom of the company page has been changed to display only senior members with an official game position. This was a game performance update.
11-16-07
- Four contacts will be created per day instead of three.
- Re-arranged the driver display page. I was tired of having to scroll down to see what company a driver was working for.
- Add three new cities to the game; Chicago, Phoenix, and Kansas City
10-25-07
- The driver notepad has been updated. All previous notes have been deleted.
10-23-07
- I will be removing the driver notepad feature from the game within the next couple of days. There are some problems with it and it is taking up much too much space on the game database. I'd remove it right away but some drivers might have some notes that they'd like to copy elsewhere on there. Spead the word that the notepad will be going away soon.
10-23-07
- Drivers may not sell items if they are currently in-route.
9-30-07
- Company ledger records only go back 14 days instead of 30 days.
9-21-07
- Provided an alternate city selection on the nation map screen in case the Google Map does not load properly. Use the drop down select box to choose a destination city of your choice.
- Got rid of the Google directions map on the route configuration screen. It didn't load properly half the time anyways.
9-15-07
- Drivers now have the abiltiy to cancel a route before taking their first leg of the trip if they made a mistake in the route selection screen.
- Drivers may now dead head (drive with empty cargo) to cities less than 300 miles away from their current city. Dead heading will not earn your driver any money or any driver rating points but it does allow you to move your driver around the map more effectivley.
8-15-07
- Bidding on NEW contracts will be closed until 30 minutes after update from now on. This should help prevent confusion and the code error that we saw the other day with bidding re-opening after it closed.
8-7-07
- Google has just released their driving directions function for their maps. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of the feature and trying to see how I can integrate it with the game more. For now I've added the ability to see more details on all your routes which also includes a map of the route. The route selection screen also includes a map now. For now this is all for visual references only but soon I hope to integrate this more into the game soon.
8-2-07
- Added company total tons hauled to the company display screen.
7-30-07
- Based on
this suggestion high demand cargo types still offer the bonus as described in the cargo stats page but you must deliver that cargo to a city that demands it. I know a lot of you won't like this but this is a necessary update and in fact this is the way it should have been from day one but it slipped my mind when I wrote the code.
7-27-07
- Corrected a typo in the company ledgers. As a result of this correction some ledger entries will be missing past 7/25.
- The driver stock value will now update daily at 4:00 AM instead of hourly. I found that this script was becoming VERY resource intensive so the script will update less frequently now.
7-14-07
- Company Contracts has been released to the game.
- The company member position 'Contract Manager' has been created. This position is responsible for seeking out and bidding on contracts that the company is interested in.
7-13-07
- Added a field to the driver display screen to show when they joined the company that they are working for. This is an entirley new field so the data in it will only be accurate moving forward. As a place holder I used the driver's creation date for when the joined the company.
- Added the total stock value to the driver display screen. To conserve resources this field updates hourly so do not be alarmed if you purchase or sell stocks and the field does not update right away.
- Split up the route selection screen to keep players from having to scroll down so much every time they select a new cargo type. Also provided the driver rating increase that can be expected for the route if the driver completes the route on time.
7-12-07
- The random city supply and demand schedule that ran on Mondays at 12:00 AM will now run on Mondays and Thursdays at 12:00 AM server time.
7-11-07
- Company CEOs now have the option to sell stocks to anyone in the game, company members only, or not to anyone at all.
7-7-07
- Company items have been added to the game. CEOs and Vice Presidents now have the ability to purchase discounts (truck purchase discount, item purchase discounts, etc...) that effect all members of the company. The base cost of all company items is $50,000 plus added costs for each active member in the company.
7-6-07
- Added the ability to overhaul your truck via the driver profile screen. This is different from standard repairs in that it not only peforms a standard repair but also increases your truck's max condition back to the top condition that it was at when you purchased it albeit at a pretty hefty price. This will give players more options than forcing them to sell their truck when it gets really worn out. You must have enough pocket money to peform overhauls of your truck for the option to become available.
7-5-07
- Added a few more driver items for purchase.
- When viewing driver profiles it will detail the specific items that driver has purchased.
- Companies can purchase up to 20 terminals instead of 10. The cost increases signifigantly after 10 and then again at 15 terminals.
6-29-07
- Added hometown cities.
- Added total tons hauled for each driver.
- Lots of other small additions have been added to the game that I forgot to mention here at the time.
6-14-07
- Removed the 45th parallel line and replace it with individual city bonuses. Vancouver is above the 45th parallel and despite the fact that Lynks raises polar bears in his back yard the climate there is actually pretty mild. You may view the individual city bonues in the
City Statistics screen.
6-9-07
-
Drivers will recieve +.05 cents PPM if the route destination city is above the 45th parallel. This is to help compensate for the potential delays that cold climate weather can have on route deliveries. The 45th parallel is marked by a solid grey line running across North America on the game map.6-6-07
- More realistic weather patterns have been added to the game as detailed in
this thread.
6-4-07
- Based on Roadpups suggestion
here route pay is now based on city demanded cargo types. The top 5 demand rating cargo types (lowest number) will give drivers collection bonuses based on the demand rating as detailed
here. If a cargo is not in the top 5 demanded cargos the default PPM is 50 cents per mile plus standard bonuses. Cargo is no longer dependent on driver rating.
- Hazardous Waste and Nuclear Waste will keep their previous driver rating requirements.
- Added three additional cities and four additional cargo types to the game.
6-1-07
- Added a banking feature to allow drivers to put money away in the bank to earn interest on. Interest is earned at 1% on a weekly basis.
5-25-07
- Modified loans to allow for bigger loans as player's driver rating increases. As your driver rating increases you can take out more money based on the calculation (Driver Rating * 100) up to a maximum of $5,000.
5-24-07
- Provided Vice Presidents with all the same access in the game as the company CEO. This will allow the Vice President to become familiar with all operations of the company before taking over. This makes the Vice President the official #2 guy in the company where as before they didn't have much access at all.
5-23-07
- Added two new items for purchase, Double Trailer License and Triple Trailer License. The Double Trailer License requires a driver rating of 8 or greater to become available. The Triple Trailer License requires a driver rating of 25 or greater to become available. These licenses increase the legal limit of cargo weight that drivers are allowed to haul.
5-22-07
- Gave CEOs the ability to sell their stocks publicly or not via the edit company screen. This feature may need to be tweaked a little and we can discuss that if needed but I thought it would be good to allow CEOs to decide if they want people to buy their stocks or not. If you already own stocks of a company and the CEOs switches to private you can still sell but you may not buy more.
- Added Vice President company positions to the game. If a CEO decides to step down the CEO position will be handed to the Vice President. To specify a Vice President select a driver in your company with an odometer of over 10,000 miles and visit the driver position screen just as you would to make them an HR Manager or Communications Manager.
5-21-07
- Interest on loans is added on a weekly basis every Monday at 12:00 AM instead of on a daily basis.
- Modified the random city cargo changes that was added yesterday to update on a weekly basis instead of daily. This should allow drivers to plan their routes a little better. The random city cargos will update every Monday at 12:00 AM.
5-20-07
- Based on the suggestion in
this thread city cargo supply #2 and cargo demand #1 and #2 will randomly change on a daily basis. City cargo #1 will remain constant as well as all cargo types for Yucca Mountain. It will be helpful for drivers to check
this screen to detmine what cities demand the cargo that your current city supplies on a daily basis. (Use your mouse to hover over the links to get a list of cities that demand what your current city supplies). Drivers who create a route of demanded goods will still get the demanded cargo bonus even if the cities demanded cargo changes while the driver is still in-route.
5-19-07
- Increased the maximum driver rating from 20 to 50.
- Modified a few of the late game cargo types to require higher ratings.
- Added a few new cargo types to the game including Hazardous Waste, Nuclear Waste, and Rock.
- Added 3 new cities to the game including Yucca Mountain NV, Fort Calhoun NE, and Southport NC. (All relate to nuclear waste cargo)
- Hazardous Waste and Nuclear Waste can only be hauled to Yucca Mountain NV.
- Fixed a JavaScript issue with the in-game maps.
- Added mouse over information boxes to display which cities supply and demand each cargo type in
this screen.
